- In this video I show you my collection of porcelain oddities. These vintage porcelain pieces are all unique. None of these porcelain figurines or pieces go with anything else and they aren't part of any of our other collections. We wanted to show you something a bit different in this video and we hope you like our video today. Wow. I’ve always thought that I was the only one that thought those odd little trinkets were so darn cute! I love the little girl with squeeze box and the girl with the duck and water wagon. But I do like the lady in the long dress too. I’ve had a few little oddities but they were broken or lost through the years. My friends and family never understood my attraction to tiny and cute vintage trinkets. I really enjoyed hearing your laughter and laughed along with you. I have to pick the pretty girl in her flowing dress and the floral wagon/coach. I like little odd things too. I have a tiny little blue and white victrola I got when the antique mall had it's five and dime weekend. Each vendor had a few things 5 and 10 cents. So fun. My treasure was 5 cents. It proudly sits on my bookcase still.

Oh what great items! I have to pick one? I don’t think I can have a favorite. For me, each is endearing in its own special way, a remembrance of the past. My parents use to make ceramics and the time, color choices, and detailing always interested me. Parrot is nice. My favorite is the lady with the gown the flowers and shape is unique. Also I think it's a little like Cinderella running from the ball. Beautiful! My mother use to have a collection of the colonial pitchers. My Brother has them 😪😪 she had many sizes from children size to a milk pitcher size. God Bless 🙏🙌

I just loved that video. As a kid I had very few toys and I used to play with little porcelain figurines . Some were dressed to go to a grand ball and some were in ballet costumes with the lace trim. I liked your very first purchase the best. Good memories.

Don’t know if you’ll see my comment after 8 months but I love these pieces. I’m always pulled to pieces about people. I have a small porcelain couch with a man stretched out on it with an undershirt on and boxers. Hands behind his head. Just snoozing. I love it. Or 2 schnauzers in a tiny basket is soooo cute. Loved this! It's not the cutest but the John Kennedy salt and pepper shaker really affected me. All the glamour surrounding him and Jackie, Camelot! I was in high school when he was assassinated and I remember every detail. But he was also just a man with his rocking chair. The love little goose girl as I have several goose figurines.

Hi ya Jeff , I have my dad's army glass cabinet from WW l with all my Mum's and Nanna's little as we call them teeny tiny collection . I have one I have always loved a little Collie with a little boy sitting on a gate . It was my dad's from Scotland . Also little Toby jugs . There's something special about them that warms your heart just to look at them . When my Tammy and niece Amy were little girls they would spend hours counting then threw the glass and making up stories about them . Tammy inherited from Jeff's mum a few that she put in the glass cabinet . I look around to find more that take my eye and heart . I completely understand the love of these. My Mom called them "cutesies". And cute they are. She had a pair of Dutch girl and boy cutesies complete with removable water pots that they carried on their shoulder. I loved them as a child and would stand looking at them on the small circular shelf in our hallway. After I married they somehow got broken and I look always to find a pair like them. They were blue and white and made in Japan. Some day I will find them. Always stay young at heart, Jeff, and that wee miniature Toby jug will continue to fascinate you.
You need to go to some antique malls I've seen a lot of them there or go on Etsy or eBay and you'll find your little Dutch boy and Dutch girl

I just loved every minute of this video! It brought back all my memories of my childhood years from maybe 5-10. I was fascinated by my mother’s porcelain figures she kept on living room shelves. I think children like small things that seem like toys. Only I couldn’t play with them! The most special one was a colonial dressed little boy pulling a beautiful wagon. It was about 12” long. Beautifully hand painted , not shiny glaze , bisque (?). Trimmed in gold. Beautiful and carefully painted face, clothing and decorations. My mother got it from her sister as a wedding present. It was her favorite and she told me it was very, very valuable. My aunt lived in Toronto.
Well, after mom died young I took it to have it appraised. (In 1978). I was told it wasn’t marked and wasn’t porcelain and was worth $5.00!!!
Because of its sentiment, I gifted it back to my aunt, at least 20 years later. It was never to be seen again! Auntie, I asked “where is that beautiful figurine of moms? “ She gave it to someone else as a wedding present!! What I wouldn’t give to have that back!! Auntie has been dead for 12 years now. And I’ve never, ever seen anything like it!!
Honestly ! ....I know that feeling ....not fun ! but My Mother was an avid Antique and vintage lover......she fought and begged for family heirlooms and paid for some as elders downsized and retired and moved away......because of her I have wonderful things from 4 generations back and mind you.....three other siblings were left roughly the same amount ! She started the collecting fever we have.....she was wonderful ! ❤👫🍍🌺 thank you Nancy for your share ! Happy week ! I know they'll have sweet cherries soon along the lake for sale ! 🌺😎🌴

Any day now will be the homegrown strawberries!! It’s so beautiful here. We’ll also be going to Becker Farm! Love their fruit and pies!
We always went to the Methodist church for the incredible strawberry festival ....and then peach festival.....I tell you the best fruit in the country is there and it does not make it this far south....its all bought up before it can get to Florida.....just some of the things I really miss about western N.Y. ....it seems to make up somehow for the long and cruel winters ! 😎🌴🍍👍

The boy with the jump rope looks like an early Hummel, from Germany to me. The makers mark changes over time . could some of the others are fairground prize.? Those look similar to the giveaways that i saw in uk , when I was a child .Just a thought. A cute collection, none the less. Hi great video!! I have a bunch of "oddities " too my grandmother born in the early 1920's kept everything!! She had the little German figurines of children riding a turtle and a snail, and even some of those " tacky" boys and girls fighting over sitting on the chamerpot !! Have you seen those? I have a little boy with a purple poodle lol , many others , miniatures are so fun to find and collect! 😂😂😂🙄🙄🙄

Squeeze box baby is my favorite. I'd call it a baby New Year and put it out for New Years and have a fun flower pick in it. My second favorite is the jumping boy vase. Never seen anything like that and it's just cute. Love it. I love anything with a cart though. You can really do a lot with them in a display at Easter or Valentines day.

Oh geez I LOVE that parrot, you know how I like gardening and birds are a big part of that. What I always appreciate about things wether I'm attracted to them or not is that someone put love and care into painting and creating them. They are all just beautiful! My favorite...its hard to pick...but the boy with jump rope seems like alot of work/detail went into it and I've never seen anything like it. When I see peices like this I always try to image the person that probably loved this peice first...bc as you said they would not have had alot of things back then.
