First time follower of the vendee globe this year and no sailing experience/ knowledge. So the focus on the tracker in the middle of the video and explaining how the winds will affect the boats and what it could lead to in regard to the rankings is really appreciated. Helps someone without a background to follow the race and understand why things are happening. Thanks!
Great update mark - thanks. Loving the details and the stories you are pulling out. Could you add some extra stories from further back in the fleet. 10/12 minutes doesn’t ever seem enough for my daily fix.!!!.
I'd be grateful for some more technical details - what does "optimised for reaching" mean in terms of hull shape? For example, how about a technical comparison of the three leading boats, plus Sam Goodchild's as he is always griping about his out-of-date and slow hull. Enjoying your coverage, though!
You have challenged Mark to clarify a complex term; I agree with you. Perhaps the hull width differs for reaching conditions while both have a "bulbous" bow to minimize diving into waves in the downwind conditions in the Southern Ocean. OK, Mark, what say you?

U guys are sailing blind on regards of physics tech that could be used to track all kind of forces 360° of the boat.
Not sure they are. Malizia has a tonne of fibre optics etc and most of them have some of that.
