A fresh cup of coffee, a Turner coloured sky, cool but pleasant temperature - combined with your terrific briefing - a perfect start of this day. Many thanks once again and warmest regards from Germany.
OMG-d, I can't believe Conrad was literally out at the end of his gypsy pole????? What guts! I also enjoyed the comparisons of past editions race locations. VG24 is setting a blistering pace
Hahahahaha, this is from a Western Australian and I agree with you, Cape Leeuwin pretty boring and it's not even the most southerly point of WA. You are really entering the Southern Ocean which you have been in anyway and you need to pass underneath Tasmania or New Zealand to be in the Pacific Ocean, keep up the great work.
Thanks for putting this VG24 edition into perspective with the others! I was indeed wondering how it was playing out. Sailing up the Atlantic is so unpredictable, though. What a race! I feel sorry for Sébastien Simon-it will be tough with one foil missing. But who knows? This is how legends are made."
Conrad Colman is quite right about Cape Leeuwin. To my mind, the South Cape/Whiore of Rakiura/Stewart Island, NZ, 12 hours time difference from France, marks the halfway point in this marvellous race. 😅
Thanks for the daily synopsis. Just wondering how the way Sam clipped in for that repair made it any safer? Looks like he would have been like a fishing lure at those speeds with no way to possibly get back on board. Thoughts?
Why is Cape Leeuwin necessary as a mark of the course. As you say, it is not a point of inflection and if it was not a mark it is hard to imagine any competitor taking a shorter course by virtue of it being eliminated than they do now.

Glad you enjoyed it during your morning coffee!
Hope Boris can keep pushing hard!
So do I! Coolest guy on the race no doubt.
He's really on the charge

It's great footage isn't it? Out on one of the continuous maintenance circuits required on these boats.
Colman for the win!!

Seb has done remarkably well to hang on, and of course briefly took the lead! Anything could happen up the Atlantic.
How dare you Conrad! I live on the cape! I might have to start barracking for someone else!👊😉🤣
Thanks for all images and reports.
It would bee interesting to follow a change in course , jibe or tack?
I would love some footage of a gybe, but I haven't found any!

Conrad woke up with a big wooden spoon this morning. 😂😂

You sound quite Australian, dude, but great monologue. :)
I presume you're referring to Conrad, not me!

It’s not the Falklands, is Islas Malvinas.
