My Dad flew that route in Capital Airlines DC-4's, carrying the construction crews that built the DEW line radar stations back in the 50's. I am overcome by waves of nostalgia, picturing that takeoff and landing in a DC-4! Thank you, Guido!

Bill Griffith You are very welcome!
When I look at the conditions and aircraft you dad had to fly in, our flight looks like a walk in the park.
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,

    Answer to Bernardo Reis:
You put in 6240N in the Garmin 430. As this is not a known way point, the GPS asks to put in the co-ordinates.
    That is what i did.
You have to be very careful when entering co-ordinates manually.
    Happy Landings,
    Guido

      Hi Anton,
4,200 fpm is only in the books....
Very seldom you see this climb rate and also this would require a steep deck angle.
Passengers do not like it and it reduces you forward visibility.
Normally we do 3,000fpm in the initial climb and reach FL410 with 500 fpm.
      Happy Landings,
      Guido

Guido, you have one of the best channels for flying enthusiasts. Your videos are razor sharp, you keep the original sounds intact and we love all your extensive explanations (the best part of your videos!), it shows your passion for flying and your urge to share that passion with others and don't forget, you do that in your spare time, when you could be relaxing in a pool! hehe
I just wanted to let you know on behalf of all us of that we REALLY appreciate all your hard work and your extensive annotations! Keep up the good work Guido and I'm looking forward to more videos!
Have a nice day and happy flying!

I forgot to mention one important thing. Just the fact that you take the time to respond to almost every comment is quite unique on UA-cam, not many people are eager to answer all questions and show appreciation for praise. That alone already deserves a big thumbs up!

Good morning Guido, I just wanted to add my sincerest thank you for the time and effort you put in to filming your videos. I look forward to them and find myself checking UA-cam all the time for new ones. Thank you. You are an inspiration for me. I am a dentist and am considering retirement from dentistry in a few years and would like a post retirement semi career in aviation. Nothing full time since I would like to enjoy my retirement but I am currently working towards my ATP and CFI/CFII/MEI ratings for such a pursuit. I love aviation and have been flying since 1993. Thanks again for your contribution to aviation.

Not a pilot myself, but absolutely love flying and have had the experience of flying with an instructor a few times. Much respect to your craft. You clearly are a very thorough Captain and incredibly detail oriented, which I both admire and am grateful for. I used to have an overwhelming fear of flying. At that point, the only logical way I could figure out how to rid myself of this fear is to learn how a plane works, and more specifically if not more important, how pilots so gracefully operate such an amazing piece of machinery. You support my logic perfectly :). Safe flying, and how you say, "Happy Landings".
