Mr. Duffy was quite the entrepreneur! Awesome history!❤
Some people are just born with certain talents. He seemed to have been born with a LOT of talents. :)
I found one of the Rochester bottles a few years back. On the bottom it reads Pat. August 24th 1886.
What a great find. Was it whole?
@@antiquebottlestories Yes. It was on the bank of a river I was exploring. There was a street that runs parallel to the river which was built on household waste that acording to city records was put down in 1913 so it's likely from then.
@@geigertec5921 Thats really cool! Im in a historical district but theres not really many public places to hunt. Everythings private owned. There is a river, but its way too deep. But i bet theres some treasures down on the river floor. Wish there was a way to get down there
You do such a great job with these. This one is really GREAT Thks.
Hey Thanks!
i have dug plenty of these great bottles. Alway great to hear you.
Thanks man! I love listening to your videos too because you are from Jersey like me. My family is still there. But ive been in florida since i was a kid so i never got a jersey accent. But i love to hear it. :)
Wow, what a great video, thanks for making it! I knew some of the ridiculous health claims it made but I learned so much more about Duffy from this. I loved seeing the buildings that are still standing. I work downtown so I’ll have to check them out. I really enjoy all your videos. They’re so educational and relaxing to watch!
Thanks. Glad you liked it. :)
This is another common bottle, at least in my area... your story is worth more than the bottle that its about. Thank you for focusing on the historical aspects of bottle collecting
:)
Can't express how much I love these videos. 💙💙💙💙💙💙
I guess if you get to 118 that you can drink whatever you want. 😁 Even alcoholics can get a free pass at that point. 🤭
I guess so. I actually meant to go look up that 118 year old's name, because i doubt very much hes 118.
I actually did a quick search. Theres no such guy in rochester. Just a made up guy.
@@antiquebottlestories oooh, life was so much easier when no one could fact-check your marketing pitches. 🤣
Thank you soooo much for looking that up.
It's interesting how you could print anything you wanted on a label back then just to sell a product. And funny how everyone would believe it. The last photo of the label was funny, the lady was spoon feeding the man, whiskey.
Heck, with all the chemicals we put in our food these days, our labels arent much different.
@@antiquebottlestories So true. That's why I forage off the land.
@@wildpinto3291 Good for you man! Thats the only way to go!
Really like to know how his dad felt after seeing the returns his son got without him.
i know right? $6000 in a few weeks back then was an amazing feat!
@@antiquebottlestories I'd be happy with $6000 in a few weeks now!
