    I like your build. I have a 68 firebird 400 that we stroked to a 461 making 500hp at 5500 and 575 ft lbs at 3800. I’m thinking that’s gonna give me a lot of snap coming outta the corners.
    I also have a 66 fastback we’re trying to put together. I Have a 302 long block, trying to decide… the 302 is band new, but I also have a 351 that’s not brand new……

    Wow, amazing results. The 347 stroker is such a great combination. Would love to know which cam you selected and what is the compression ratio.
    112 Octane definitely helps alot!
    Cant wait for the install in the car again and hearing that baby wind out 😎👌

      Thank you Tom! The CR is 11.5:1. The cam was a custom grind from Comp Cams based on Kaase’s spec. The cam lift and duration are mentioned in part 1 of the engine build. BTW, 112 was advised by my machinist and the crew at AED performance. The AED carb was custom built for this engine Combo and was absolutely spot on for the air:fuel ratio. No tuning was needed. Cheers!

    Shes a screamer, at 28 degrees total timing i think u have a very efficient combustion chamber

    I don't understand... with all the off-peak gains that come with your exhaust, why are you dyno tuning without it? That additional power requires additional air/fuel. Without proper tuning for the additonal scavenging of your car's exhaust, you run the risk of running lean on the track... and that comes with some potentially catastrophic consequences (dropped valve, fused ring, burned piston, etc.).

      Good question. Chassis dyno was in the back of my mind, but I wanted to make sure this thing would work after burning up the last engine. Good advice, thanks!

      @@trackdayclassics - is it possible that's why the last one burned up? Always tune for your true setup, especially on a road course car. The duty cycle combined with the dynamic use of the RPM range simply won't tolerate a lean condition... maybe down below 3,500rpm or so.... but nothing higher, for any length of time.

      @@driverjamescopeland I was running a Sniper for a while with 32 degrees of advance. That what their instruction recommended. Way too much for this car. Surprised it lasted two years like that. Very expensive lesson.

    Fantastic result 👏
    Great power
    Is it a aftermarket block?

      @trackdayclassics  9 місяців тому

      Thanks! Yes, that’s a Dart block. 4.125 x 3.25 to get 347
