  • Jefferson shows you how to install the ‪@HolleyPerformance‬ #MidMount accessory drive to an LM7 LS-series 5.3L, which will eventually be installed into our 1966 Cadillac Sedan Deville. We opted for the black finish, which looks really good and wills tay nice for years instead of getting crusty like plain jane cast aluminum.
Along the way, Jefferson shows you some tricks for installing the crank pulley and bolt, and maybe a dance with our shop dog Culver.

Ya this kit is nice. I bought it and installed it but what's BS about the entire thing is that it covers the timing tab. Making it impossible to get timing when rebuilding an engine. I've had to resort to timing it on the opposite/underside of the thing. It's been a pain that's for sure

what are they talking about in the instructions where it says...."At this time, reference the front of the engine with the handle of the wrench. Mark with
tape where 125° of clockwise rotation would be from where 59 ft./lbs. was obtained. Rotate the wrench / bolt 125°. Remove the flywheel holder tool. The installation
process is now complete" I just bought this same kit and will be installing it soon. didnt see that step in this video so was wondering how much it mattered lol

That is for the the stock-type TTY crank bolt, if you use the Earl's or ARP crank bolt, simple torque values are used and the bolt is reusable.

I haven’t researched it yet but was told this mount is only rated for 400hp. Have you had any issues?

@Enjoytheinbetween who said that? The output of the engine has no bearing on the accessory drive.

JB: just read your GM LT swap into anything book and love it but wondering if you can point me to the guy with the L83 that put a manual behind it. I’m in the process now but hearing it is impossible to get engine to run right without tcm. Help please.

That's me, I'm the guy! LOL
You need to space the transmission back with a 3/8" spacer. American Powertrain sells the one I used. And you need the Camaro large pilot bearing.
You just need to switch the ecm to "manual" in the transmission section. You do the same thing if you are running an older transmission to an LT.
      No TCM required.

@@Reddirtrodz I got the spacer, (thanks for that warning in book) and all physical connection figured out. Just no manual option in my 2016 L83 operating system. Hearing that I may need to change to Camaro OS. I take it your L83 was different year. Thanks again for the reply and keep cranking out the great content.

@user-cg4mg1op1m hmmm, i have not run across that. I have done 2014, 15, and 18 L83s, all had the manual selection in the ECM. you have to go to the transmission section in tune to turn it to manual. They all have it.
