- After some life-changing problems since the last episode, we're finally back at it again and are picking up right where we left off!
For those not in the know, Dad had a stroke last year which really shook our world. He's actually managed to come through it with no damage to his brain at all, which is amazing!... but it's wild how much an event like this can still affect things. His blood pressure was largely to blame, and that's been something he's had to content with for a long time now, however through a series of events it slipped out of control and we are where we are. Life is precious, and short, so take this as a wake-up-call to keep your own health in check!
Last time we finished off the custom exhaust for our GT6, and today we're moving forward to sort out some accessories to keep the engine running, and us frosty cool. Plus, we'll see if we can cram these things into our pint-sized hot rod, while also saving some all mighty $$ in the process!
Thankfully, it looks like Holley's LS Mid Mount system should do the trick * ... kind of.
Like you, we can't wait to hear the LS fire up someday, so I hope you'll Subscribe so you won't miss that experience with us!
Please SHARE this video with your friends, it's a small step that will really help us out!

We’re just a couple of guys (not trained mechanics) who enjoy problem solving, creating new things, and showing you how we did it. We can’t promise that anything we do will work for your project, or that you, someone else, or your warranty will not be harmed or affected by doing it too. Please work responsibly and do not mess around with machinery that you are not comfortable with, even if we made it look easy!
So Awesome. Bloody brilliant in fact. There is an art to parts sourcing, and it's complicated when you live in a country that has a (relatively) teeny market and no real comparable manufacturing of it's own. So much of what we need to buy for projects like this in The Great White North ends up coming from the States, the UK or occasionally Australia, which of course means big freight costs and duty charges - and if you happen to get the wrong bit you can't just run around the corner and exchange it. Nor can you go hands on, take your own measurements, test fit.. so I for one have a MASSIVE amount of respect for the accomplishment in this video. Cudos to you my friend - Excellent work. Now I'm going back to cuddling my shiny new Dutchman CV axles that arrived yesterday.
Gosh, it’s like we live in the same country or something… the accuracy of your thoughts are on point! 😅👌 Congrats on the new parts and I’ll try to get back to your last DM soon! Enjoy the weekend buddy✌️
😂😂😂❤👍
this project has the spirit of Switzerland.
because the floor was full of holes like Swiss cheese
Thanks for your patience! Life never ceases to amaze me with the curveballs it can throw, and the last 5 months are no exception. Dad had a Lacunar stroke late September of last year, and while he's pulled through it very well and has even been informed that it left no damage to his brain, it's nonetheless changed life around here.
Here's a top tip from what we've learned ... fish. Yeah. The amount we're eating now, we're going to have to buy a boat.
Also, more seriously, blood pressure ... if you don't know it, find it out. If you do know it, keep it below 120/80.
The GT6 through this time has been poorly neglected as you might expect, but don't think for a moment that I've been twiddling my thumbs! My new "daily" project has kept me occupied and that'll find it's way on here soon enough.
For now though, enjoy this new episode, and stay tuned for the next! HUGE thanks to our Patreons as always for their support in our shenanigans: www.patreon.com/FanatikBuilds
Good to see you back. Love the channel.
Good to hear that your dad had no brain damage. My wife had a hemorrhagic stroke in '16 when her BP shot up over 200. One specialist walked into her hospital room while we were talking and had to check his charts as he was expecting to find a vegetable as the bleed was so massive. She is having some trouble with her right side motor function but can walk, talk and dress herself so life goes on. It does make us thankful for OHIP as there are no life crushing medical bills. I am enjoying this build and learn something from you with each video. Looking forward to see this thing making noise and shredding tires.
Watch the full video just a pleasure im in California doing the water pump and others saved$$ for my build thank you!!
Happy to see you back at it and I'm glad to hear your Dad is doing well. 👍
QUESTION: I need more people like you watching! The way UA-cam works is it serves "impressions" of videos to viewers, and the rate at which they click through determines some aspect of the algorithm telling UA-cam to continue to promote the video. In other words, if people don't click, UA-cam doesn't care. Hence "clickbait" exists ...
Ok there's more to it than that... but this is a pretty important bit.
My question is what changes to the Thumbnails and/or Titles of the videos do you think I should implement, to make the project more interesting/clickable? Thanks!!
Man, for me your videos and the build are impeccable. I don't know how to get you more subscribers, but this channel definitely deserves a lot more viewers... Unfortunately, what gets clicks is to body swap a R34 into a R35 in a messy and not very careful way, just to show... Not that I don't like the idea of it, but I prefer the thought and the effort you put into this build. Keep up the good work. It eventually will get the attention it deserves. I heard about your channel on The boss garage, by the way.
I know of only a few people who have the skills necessary to do what you do and I follow many of them, all fabrication. What you do is art in the most honest sense. High end watch manufacturing and the highest level of fabrication comes to mind. I’m guessing if fabrication was listed in the title those who appreciate fabricating would see more of this than not. “All hail the Algorithm” comes to mind. Viewership numbers certainly are not due to any lack of quality. So “All hail to you” is in order.
Can you incorporate a beautiful woman in your thumbnails?
Family first....
But it's great to have such brilliant content back! It's an amazing build done well....
Thanks Craig, we're happy to have it all mostly behind us now so we can push on with the car again!
That is going to be one bad-ass car. I have dreamed of putting a good old American V8 in a GT-6 for at least 20 years. Thankyou for showing us how to do it. Can't wait to see the final product!
Awesome! I've seen it done before online, but there were a few ideas of my own I thought could be cool - glad that so far it's all working out!! 😅👍
Happy to hear your Dad is OK! That's a blessing. My first car in 1970 was a '67 Spitfire which my dad and I put together from two wrecking yard specimens, one which had been rolled right and one which had been rolled left. I must say that working with my dad could really tax one's ability to put up with Dad's complete lack of patience for a dumb shit 16 year old. But we did it. I drove it for about a year and sold it. Oh well!
It could have ended so differently for him, we really are blessed. Thanks man. Haha, we make silly choices when we're young sometimes, and I wish I never sold my first car either ... being able to look back and laugh about the memories with your dad is what it's about though! Cheers dude✌
Dad's back!!! No damage to the CPU! Wondered why no posts and there you have it.
God's not done with Family or The Build. Five Star.
Haha, sometimes a reboot can only help! So fortunate there was no damage or lingering side affects, things could have been very different so we're very blessed 🙏. Thanks Damon, all the best to you and yours 👊👍
Sorry to hear about your Dad, glad to hear he's on the mend.
Some of us a hardcore Project Binky fans, was more concerned you and father were ok than when we get our next slice.
If it takes 6m or 60 years, I'll keep watching.
On the Power Steering front, you can get column drive electric units which may assist with your packaging issues. I work for a major Tier 1 on power steering so ping me a DM if you need any help.
Stay safe.
He could also use the same trick as Blackhurst used on Binky, with a hydraulic rack powered by an electric pump mounted out of the way on the frame. I think it's referred to as "electric over hydraulic" or some such. Best of both worlds that way, electric compactness with the feel of hydraulic - especially since with the lack of depth in the GT6 dash, an underdash electric could be hard to squeeze in.
@@aussiebloke609 Electrically Powered Hydraulic Steering (EPHS) or Electro-Hydraulic Steering (EHS), most supercars of the last 10 years run a variant of the same system, which I developed most of the core.
The main issue here will be packaging, Binky started with the hydraulic rack from the Celica. The GT6 doesn't have this so he would need to start again.
Packaging was the problem for Binky, Binky had no space behind the dash for a Column drive EPS unit and no space for a Rack drive EPS unit.
Here even a modified rack drive unit would not fit, hydraulic would also be a significant challenge (the precision required in these parts is extremely high).
The other main issue with EPHS is the tuning, you can regulate the flow with the pump, but the pressure is still controlled from the valve in the rack, these are sized for the vehicle and the rack, modification of this is not possible without specialist machining and knowledge.
They are typically designed for much larger and heavier vehicles, which means you are under-flowing the system (to reduce the level of assist), potentially inducing cavitation and causing damage to the system.
Your only option is a column drive EPS unit, should he wish to run power steering.

Thanks Andrew, appreciate the concern and well wishes! One of the best parts of these projects (for me) is the build itself, so I'm glad others feel the same way! Re power steering that both you and Aussiebloke were mentioning: EPS column drive is the direction we're headed (might have even picked up something already!) so thanks for the input guys! 🤟👊👊
It's cool they sell the components of their kit. The big aluminum casting is really the magic of it.
Glad to have you guys back and that you father is feeling better.
Thanks Steve, really appreciate it! 🙏✌️
"We're fans of Red Green" - LOL!!! Who watches this video that is NOT a fan?!? Loved it.
So great your back. Very happy your Dad is doing better. Looking forward to seeing progress.
Thanks man, we're glad to be back and have dad doing so well!
Glad dad's doing better... been there, done that... and may I ad, you truly are following in the steps of Bad Obsession Motorsports 🙂
Yikes, not fun, hope you've recovered well! 🙏👊
@@FanatikBuilds Thanks - yes, mostly... got irregular heart for a number of weeks... but mostly those went away... finally 🙂
Good to hear!!
I am happy to see you guys back at it.
Appreciate it man, we're glad to be back!
Now that's a very elegant solution. Great to see you back and that's great news about your dad. ✌😀👍
Well thanks very much my friend, we're certainly very pleased with the quality of the end product! Appreciate the comments on dad's health, we're really fortunate that he's doing so well ... could have been a very different story! Cheers and all the best Steve 👊✌️
Glad to hear your Dad is mending and to share your progress!
Thank you Bill, means a lot!
Just in time for an after work beer on a Friday, nice!
Happy to hear he’s recovering 👍
Hey good timing eh! Thanks Baron, we appreciate all your support!
Probably the best car-channel on YT. Keep it up!
Gosh, that's high praise! I seriously doubt it, but thanks very much all the same man! 😊👍
@@FanatikBuilds That's my opinion. Greetings from Sweden.
Sorry about your dad (glad he is doing fine now) and your clash with the COVID, but even more excited that you are back. Truly appreciate the quality of your work!
Thanks Jerry, glad to have most of all that behind us now! Appreciate the encouragement too, hope you'll enjoy what's next! 👍👊
So glad you're baaack and to hear your Dad is doing well - that really puts things into perspective in a hurry! Now, quit slacking and let's get back to it shall we?!
All the best, Jinca
Haha, ok ok we'll try! 😂 Thanks Jinca, means a lot 👊👊
So glad you're back!
Glad to be back man! Noticing your username, thanks very much for your service! 🙏
Glad Dad is doing fine. Its amazing how one medical problem can lead to another. Interesting combination to save 50% of the kit cost. As you and others have said "The Great White North" is not the easiest place to customize a car. Its finding and getting the parts and also the laws of each province regarding modifying street vehicles. At least we will get rebates on our stickers. Also like the custom cursor in the comment section. Glad you are back and looking forward to the next video.
Thanks Darrell, it really is amazing ... equally so is that he's doing well though, that's a real blessing! Yeah I'm very pleased with how it all worked out in the end, it's still not a small amount of money but every part (save the alternator) was brand new, and it's hard to complain with the quality! Haha, I heard about the sticker rebate thing... unbelievable! If only they had thought to put that in place before they required everyone to update them again in the fall - classic! Oh well, glad to get some cash back no matter the backstory! 😂 Cheers man, take care 👊👍
Great to see you back. Get well soon Pops
It's appreciated John, thanks!
Yay! The new video is finally released! Glad your dad is ok!
We're really blessed by how it all turned out for him! Thanks man, great to hear from ya!
Glad to hear that your Dad is doing better. Tom and I had missed out on the news earlier. Glad that he had the best mechanics working on him!
We're really privileged to have such amazing medical help nearby, and we're equally blessed that he's not had any damage and is able to concentrate on improving health! Appreciate the well wishes, hope you guys are staying well! 🙏👍
@@FanatikBuilds Tom and I really appreciate your videos and look forward to seeing more. You must be a engineering type person. Companies probably are beating your doors down and would hire you in a snap! Also enjoy your alter personality clips!
I was just scrolling through my subscriptions, and thought " I haven't seen anything from you for a while", and BAM, here it is! Glad to hear your Father is healing well. It's a hell of a scare, I know. I know what you mean about buying the whole kit, it's a lot of money, and for what you saved doing what you did, well worth the effort. Pays for something else down the line. Looking forward to the next one.
Haha, perfect timing then, thanks Eric! Appreciate the words about dad, it’s been an interesting ride but we’re glad to see him on the right road! 🙏✌️
So glad you’re back! Wishing your dad all the best!
Was literally thinking the other day “I wonder when when they’ll finish that GT6”.. it was as if yous heard me! Haha
It’s an absolute travesty that you only have 34k subscribers!
I didn't want to tell you but I may have secretly put one of Mr. Musk's brain implants in you and read your thoughts from here! 😉 Thanks very much, it's good to be back and we're really fortunate that dad's doing so well! #allhailthealgorithm !!
Glad you're back, and glad you're all feeling better!
Really appreciate it man! 🙏👊
I would not have the ability to NOT buy a belt... the urge to see parts rotating would be too great. Looking fantastic, glad your dad is doing well!
Haha, I know, it's killing my OCD too but it's bad enough having the tires sit around that something as simple as a belt can wait! Appreciate it man, we're so glad he's doing well too!
@@FanatikBuilds Poached Salmon, Steamed Broccoli, and a Baked Potato. 😋
I don't care how long it takes I WILL WATCH EVERY TIME YOU UPLOAD life will be life and I am happy to be on this journey good to have you back
Really appreciate it Paul, it's great having you along with us!
Well done ! Glad to hear your Dad is on the mend .
Thanks George, means a lot! 👊
If you need it, try an electric power steering unit out of a toyota prius. Should fit under the dash. If not you could always trim back your knees a little. There are kits out there. For the pump, not your knees. Though, never looked for those. Nicely done. Glad to hear your dad in the background. Made me smile.
That’s been one of my favourite options! Got something else in the works that should be just as good if not better though 🤟 Haha, thanks Charles, it’s good to have him doing so well!
Great to see you back!
Thanks Matt, good to be back! ✌
@@FanatikBuilds great thing about the LS platform, there are just so many options available. I understand that there are Toyota Prius and Merceded B-class electrical power steering assist systems which could help possibly if you needed to adopt a non hydraulic PS system.
The aftermarket support was a huge plus for going this route! Yes the Prius unit was high on my list but I think I've found something that should work even better for us! Cheers Matt ✌️
I have been a fan of Holley carbs and such for years, but having been stung by the price of their bits and bobs kits, found a really good set of small drill bits, measured a friends kit and never looked back. Holley, pay attention- you need a "credit card impaired" buyer's program!
Both saddened to hear about your dad's health problems and overjoyed to hear he has stuck around for a few more garage sessions- hope he is well soon and joking and joshing with you as you finish the "remaining 10% of the car. Note; that always takes several times the amount of time the first 90% did! Dad, we need you now, like we have never needed you before! For the rest of your clan, I'm grateful to hear all made it to the other side and will be with you for another holiday season.
A note on "hot rodding by credit card"; when I got into it, most of the really good stuff, what there was of it, was way expensive, so you made it or did without- and it was a lot more fun, IMHO. You and your dad, and many of the Aussie boys, really take the "do it yourself" thing as a mantra- GOOD ON YA'LL! PS; waiting for your content, like Binky's, is always worth the time- ours and yours, I hope! Something new and or different, to be sure! FR
Sorry I'm so late seeing your last entry- my winter was spent finding a new place to live- wheels came off in October, but not nearly so rudely as yours! Better days, Micheal! FR
Glad to hear uf dad is doing a whole lot better 🙏🏼
Appreciate it Sean, we're really blessed that he's doing so well - life could have been very different!
So glad that you got a chance to post, but even happier that you’re dad is doing well!
Thanks man, means a lot - we're very fortunate with how it played out for him!!
Glad to see you are back. Glad to see Dad is OK too Cheers
Thanks Kym, we are so fortunate he's doing so well, it could have been a very different story. 🙏👍
So glad to have you back! Parts sourcing is what I do for a living! It's nice to see someone with the same craziness for it.
Thanks man! Hey cool, there's a real art to it and it's actually kind of fun eh - especially when you're able to find the right deal! Cheers! 👍👊
I was just looking for you a day or two ago. I'm about the same age as your dad so I can relate to advancing years and associated issues... stay positive old boy.
Thanks - Dad's hoping that if nothing else his situation can prove as motivation for others to look after themselves more! 👍
Great to see you back and better still that your dad is in good shape.
Appreciate it Gary, good to be back! ✌️
So great to see you back with this vid. Nicely done! I expect nothing less from you guys, definitely living up to your name. Glad your pop is healthy!
Means a lot man, thank you! 🙏👍
Great to see you back, wishing good health to you and the rest of your family, hoping for a good recovery for your dad.
Means a lot Jowen, thanks and all the best to you and yours as well! 👊✌️
Good job piecing all that together. Glad to see you back at it!
Thanks, was a puzzle to figure out but definitely worth the effort! Glad to be back, cheers man 👊🤟
So glad that your Dad is recovering well! Project looks to be well back on track and as entertaining as ever. It isn't as satisfying, spending your way out of a corner, but when you can engineer your way to identifying the same or near identical components, at a fraction of the cost of a kit, that must give you a bit of a kick! So pleased to see you both back on the project and turning out great material. Very best wishes!
Cheers Neil, we're really blessed that he's not had any permanent damage! Ha, yes, reaching for the wallet is never a way I like to solve problems, so I'm definitely pleased that we could cut the cost of the kit by so much in the end! Appreciate the encouragement and well wishes and I hope 2022 is a great year for you 🙏👊
Glad to see your back and wrenching away. Happy to hear your father is recovering well and keeping an eye on things.
Thanks Lester, it's good to be back! We're so grateful that dad's doing well, it could have ended very differently for him. 🙏👊
Hey, thank you for keeping us all updated.. Look... Family comes first.. Family always comes first. My prayers to you, to your father and family.
That means a lot, thank you so much! 🙏👊
Very happy to hear everyone is doing well. You've been in our thoughts. So happy you guys are back. :)
Thanks man, been a wild ride but glad to have most of it behind us now! 👊🤟
Love the build, love the Red Green mention, all the best to your Dad !!
Thanks Phillip, it’s appreciated! Cheers and keep your stick on the ice! 😉🇨🇦
Excellent news that Dad is doing fine. Thank you for the video that helped me temporarily forget the madness that's happening on the other side of the world.
Thanks man, glad it could help in that way. 🤟👊🙏🌎
I love the information and the sense of humor with which is delivered! So glad you're dad is doing better and a full recovery(?) is like letting of the throttle BEFORE the rods come out of the side of the block!
Great work. It is always rewarding to save some cash by doing a bit of research. Good to see you back at it.
Thanks Jeff, glad it all worked out in the end! Sorry for not being actively involved in the comments of your work these days, life's been pretty stressful to be honest, but I do see that you've made some great progress so I'll have to catch up soon. Enjoy the summer for me and all the best man! 🇨🇦👍
@@FanatikBuilds No worries mate. Unfortunately we didn't really get a summer this year. Hopefully next year ;)
Oh no! That sucks, mind you, from your Instagram posts, I'd still take what you've got! 😂 Haven't heard about as many wild fires this year out there, so hopefully that's been at least one good aspect for ya!
All the best to your dad and your family. Take all the time you need to feel comfortable in the workshop again.
Thanks Ian, it is a bit weird getting back to it again, takes some time to get familiar with things and get the ol' noggin in the right space again! Looking forward to seeing some progress though, cheers man! 👍
Sorry for your dad, I missed your video's, i noticed your dad is in the background on this video. You guys will be back stronger, we will wait for you. Robert B.
Thanks Robert, he's doing much better and prioritizing health isn't a bad thing! Just too bad it took a wake-up-call to get here is all. 😂 All the best and stay healthy!
I am so glad your dad is ok. That's scary stuff.
It's been stressful Dan, but we're so glad to see him out the other side and doing well! Life's very short 🙏✌️
Glad to hear your Dad's ok! Prayers for his continued good health. Great job! Can hardly wait until the next one!
Thank you Vincent, that means a lot! 🙏
So glad you guys are back and doing well
Thanks man, means a lot! Glad to finally back at it!
So happy to see another video. Love the gt6 in stock form and even moreso with your modifications. Can't wait to see it on the road.
Really appreciate it Greg! 😊 Hope you'll enjoy what's next to come, we also can't wait to see it on the road 👍
Great seeing you back to it...and happy to hear your Pa will be okay.
Thank you, we're really fortunate with how it all played out for him! Great to hear from you, hope all is well 👊👍
So sorry to hear about your family's health woes in the last year, and I'm glad to hear that you are all on the way back to fighting trim. Just continue to keep an eye on your dad's oil pressure, level and additives.
He’s running very nicely on a blend of 5w-30 and fish oil! Thanks for the concern Rob, we’re glad to have all this behind us now. Take care of yourself! 🤟👊
Glad to see you back.
Thanks man, it's good to finally be back!
sorry you've had a run of bad health in the family. family, health, sanity all come before videos. that said, i'm glad to see some progress, and that you're kind enough to share. awesome build, great job at being cheap.... er frugal. i can't wait to see you and your dad take it for a spin (hopefully not literally), when you finish it.
I like to think of it as “operating within a budget”!! Lol, but yeah, cheap kinda works too! Just seems everything is so expensive anymore eh. Appreciate the words of concern re health, it’s been a ride let me say… glad to have it behind us! Cheers man and I look forward to sharing in that moment with ya! 🤟
Glad your dad is doing well!
Thanks Matthew, it could have ended very differently so we're really fortunate to have him doing so well! Cheers 👍✌️
Glad to hear your Dad is better. That's the most important thing, everything else is secondary. Great that you are back though!
Sure is Geoff! Huge wake-up-call but glad that's "all" it was. Cheers!
I've missed you and your Dad, pleased to hear things are looking up (HOLLEY!)
I'm not sure how differently Spitfires and GT6's handle.
My 1964 Spit (Brush painted black, bumpers removed, D Reg, MK2?, with a GT6 fibre glass bonnet, bought back in the day as a non runner for £80) taught me a thing or two about lack of power, lack of grip and possible car control.
There was little power, did I mention that?
All roundabouts were a trip into huge amounts of over steer. I was in London Uk when I had that car. Chingford North Circular Roundabout was a blast. Usually went home very late at night. Any dampness made it even better.
Learnt how to balance a car when the rear end is trying to overtake the front end. Subject to the police, I would go back for several goes.
Keep going!
Cheers
Thanks it's good to be back after some interesting months away! I honestly couldn't tell you how the GT6 handles in comparison as I've spent a grand total of 2 minutes riding in one! (this one, almost 8 years ago) ... I would imagine it to be tail happy in a wet day though just the same. Especially with over 300hp! Things that should help neutralize it's tendency to over-steer should be that we've improved weight balance (F/R) as well as put far superior suspension and tires on it. Here's hoping that all does what it's supposed to do! 🤞 Cheers to you as well!
I can not find the words to tell you how cool you and dad are, very pleased dad Just needed his fluids servicing and daily check, very happy for another update thank you 😊
Haha, if we just think about ourselves as cars it’s much easier! Cheers Tom, we’re really grateful it’s gone as “smoothly” as it has for him! 👊
It's about time. We have missed you. :). Looking forward to your progress posts. Thanks for sharing! Sympathy for your DAD. BP issues are not fun. Good to hear he is doing well. That Holley manifold is fantastic and your alternative accessories are very cool solutions.
Haha, thanks Pat, it’s good to hear from you! Yes he’s battled high BP since his 30s and we’re pretty sure what happened is that his medication changed last year and we didn’t think to keep a close eye on his readings. Glad to have had “only” a wake up call but no worse, this was bad enough! Cheers 👊👊
Tell your old man to stop stroking things that put him in hospital. Hope he makes a full recovery. As for your fixtures and fittings, you should look into one of those home brew electroplating kits, make them nice and shiny in any colour you want and stop them getting crusty. As for the upload times, I'm used to watching the project Binky build series, so that was an incredibly quick turn around 😂
Lol, I’ll tell him that! Good advice 😅 thanks Dave, he’s on the right road. Yes I’ve been looking into that, just need to weigh the pros and cons as it seems quite labor intensive process… 🧐
Haha, yeah, well, at least they haven’t made us wait 5 full months recently! 🤗
Great to see you back! Hope your dad is OK.
Thanks Valisk, he's doing a lot better! 🙏 Definitely a huge wake-up-call.
Welcome back and glad your father’s health has turned out to be good.
Appreciate it Alastair, we're very fortunate with how it all turned out!
I applaud the time and effort you put in to film and edit these episodes. These are truly amazing.
Thanks Alex, it may not work as well with the "algorithm" but I'd rather put out quality over quantity any day! Glad you feel the time spent was worth it 😊👍👊
Vibrant Performance makes a variety of nice stainless flex couplings. Their stuff seems to be of decent quality and is reasonably priced. Anyway, it's good to see you back, and I hope everybody continues to be in good health.
I’ve been impressed by the resonators we got from them so their flex options are high on my list of options. Just having difficulties deciding between something like a slip joint which is reliable, or a bellows which would be more functional for our needs. 🧐 thanks for the well wishes! All the best to you as well 👍
Ah awesome that you're back. Hope all the health troubles are in the past now.
Hope so too James!! He’s doing really well and we’re all likely better off on the new diet… just a bit tired of fish though! 😅 cheers!
Glad Dad's OK, great to see you back, ❤️🎯🏴
We're very fortunate with how it turned out for him, thanks Clive! 🙏👍
Big thumbs up from me. You were filling a vital role in my life with the lack of Binky content from BOM. I thought the last few weeks were tough on me with not having any new content but sounds like you and your family were going through plenty! Great video. Family first.
Haha, cheers Thomas, honoured to be a stand-in for the big guys across the pond! Hopefully we can get back to more regular programming now 🤟👊
Welcome back I missed you, my missus had a few small strokes so I know where you're at, glad the old man is recovering, after all the mixing and matching with the drivetrain I would have been disappointed if you had just bought the kit, take the time you need to get the next one out but you know next week be good😉😉😉 take care fellas
Thanks very much man, I'm sorry to hear about your wife - hope she's stable and doing well? Haha, yeah I was initially expecting us to fabricate brackets but when I started pricing out this "mix and match" route, I was pleasantly surprised by the results. It was definitely really nice to just bolt some parts on for once but I'm glad we could still keep things slightly more inline with Fanatik "BUILDS" for the sake of everyone else at the very least! Haha, may not be next week, but it should be sooner than 5 months this time! 😂 Cheers and all the best to ya ✌️
Good to see a young guy with such fabrication skills. Take care of your Dad, I lost mine from a bad stroke that could have been avoided.
Thanks Mark, will do. So sorry to hear about your own dear father... strokes are such silent killers that don't get much attention. My utmost condolences to you man.
Great to see an update. Y'all take care of yourselves.
Thanks, we'll try to stay out of trouble! 🙏👍
Great to see you back again. Sorry to hear about your Dad and glad he’s on the mend. Project is looking awesome as ever!
Thank you Matthew, we're glad he's doing so well and that we can once again get back to the garage again, been missing seeing progress out there! Cheers dude 👍
WOW... you don't know how much I've been waiting for this... and I am SO glad to learn your Dad is on the mend and should get back to 100%. That isn't fun... my Dad had a stroke and then moved in with me for the 6 months or so of his life... It is a challenging situation and you will be in my thoughts. You are doing such an excellent job, and I'm eager to see you bring this thru to completion.
Thank you Tyler, it's been a wild ride but we're blessed that he's not had any damage and can use it as a wake-up-call. Still has ramifications as you'd know, but we're all coming out the other side with a better diet and more concentration towards health, so it's not all bad. Really appreciate the thoughts! All the best man 🤟👊👍
Glad to hear your dad has recovered Michael! Also glad you are both out in the garage again! That has to be a good feeling. Hope things continue to go in the right direction!
I know this will be a little ways off yet but hope you can make it to a British V8 Meet someday. Would love to meet you and see your car in person!
Hey Scott, great to hear from you! Thanks very much, it's been a stressful time but we're really fortunate to have him doing so well - and it's great being back in the garage again for sure! Appreciate the well wishes. 👍 That would be fun, maybe when the car's done we'll try to do some tours and meets along the way! Would love to see your B as well 😎
Have been waiting for you guys to be back. Great video!!!!
Thanks Alex, glad to be back man! 👊✌️
Welcome Back! It is great to hear that your Dad has a good prognosis. Lame that Covid waylaid you all, but once again, great to hear the damage was minimal. This is an extremely informative series of videos. Entertaining, too.
Appreciate it Joel, it’s been a “fun” ride for the last few months but we’re very glad things have turned out as well as they have! All the best man ✌️👊
Great to see you back at it! Sorry you had to go thru the C-19, I know how it is... I marvel at what you have been able to accomplish, given it took me over 8 years to do a bone stock resto on my Sunbeam... but then again, I got married, went back to college, and had two kids in between start & finish!
Wow 8 years that’s fast, compared to my Sunbeam…I’ve been channeling my in “Ken Miles” to modify my 67 Alpine into a “Tiger” since dragging it across Canada in 2010. Same old story, family, business and life interruptions protracted significant progress until Covid, which proved to be a “blessing”. The last two years have been the most productive yet and I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope Ken likes my “improvements”. Enjoy your ‘Beam!
Couple of guys right here with some beautiful cars! Love Sunbeams 👌👍
Enjoy both of your projects, hope 2022 sees great progress for us all!
Nice to see you making videos again! This is a highly enjoyable build series you've been making. God bless your dad brother. I empathize for you. I'm glad he's ok and you guys can keep building the car together. There's nobody else like dad. God bless you all. Looking forward to your next video! 👍
That means a lot man, thank you, we're really blessed to see him doing so well, it could have ended very differently! 🙏 Hope you'll enjoy what's next!
@@FanatikBuilds 😊 🤜🤛
Sorry to hear about your dad’s health troubles. Glad he is doing well though. So glad to see this continuing! So cool!
Thanks James, really appreciate it! We're very fortunate that he's doing so well 👊👊
Glad to hear all are well. Getting over certain humps in a project can cause massive delays. With shipping issues on top of everything else, parts can take months to get. Funny how the world has changed to appreciate shipping that takes a week.
No joke! I source from so many different vendors just in an effort to find the best mix between price and shipping time! Customs is usually the longest part but some places like RockAuto still manage to get stuff up here quickly. Cheers man 🤟👍🇨🇦
Awesome! Glad to see you guys are ok. I have been waiting for a update, and was very glad when I saw this popped up.
Thanks again from the friendly norse :-)
Good to hear from you man! It's been stressful but we're so happy to see dad doing well, it could have ended so differently so easily. Hope all's well on your end and take care of yourself dude! ✌️👍
Glad to see you back dude, and even more gladder that dad is doing well!
Thanks David, we're very fortunate that things ended so well for him, could have been a very different story! 🙏👊👊
Glad to see you guys back!!
Thank you Andrew, it’s good to be back at it!
Brilliant to see you back again but more importantly glad to hear you are all well and great to hear your Dad in the background 👍 Stay safe and keep on producing one of my favourite shows 👍
Cheers buddy, appreciate the well wishes and I'll definitely try to do that! 🤟👊
Good to see you guys made it back
Finally eh! Good to be back, thanks man!
@@FanatikBuilds after you get the engine broke in you need todo a complete magazine style 0-60 (0-100kpm) 60 back to zero, 1/4 Mile, see what G rating it will do and compare it to either a magazine test of the original car or a restored car. I SOOOO wish jay Leno would do that for his Resto Mod cars.
That would be fun! Looking forward to the day it's on the road! 🤟👊
It might have been cool, to take the whole LS4 FWD drive train and mount it in the back of your triumph...Rear engine RWD???
I was sorry to hear your Dad hasn't been well but it seems he's making good headway . I was thinking we hadn't seen you for some time . I really have enjoyed watching your skills and your never give up attitude, the pulleys being a perfect example . Many thanks for sharing .
Life's definitely been stressful lately (last two years really, let's be honest) but we're very fortunate that it was "just" a wake-up-call and nothing worse! Prioritizing health isn't such a bad thing after all! Thanks John, means a lot and I'm glad we could finally get a new episode out 👊👊
Glad you’re back and especially glad your father is better.
Thanks Scotty, appreciate it! Good hearing from ya I hope all's well - Ep 27 just came out in case you missed it btw 🥳
I'm glad y'all are alright, after all that's went on. I didn't even know that Holley made something like that, until today. Now I know what to get for my Spitfire and my Corvette when I LS swap them.
Thanks man, it's been stressful but we're glad to be out the other side at this point! Yes Holley's got some great stuff on the market these days, really impressed by the engineering behind this solution! 👍
Nice. Back in 91 in Toronto here..... we put a Buick 3.8 V6 into a 1980 TR7 convertible. Holley 390, offenhauser manifold, 10.1 piston, crane mild lift cam, coupled it to a GM 5 speed manual and built a hydraulic clutch assembly. Plus 2 rims, led to 15-40 rubber, beefed up the suspension ..threw in some headers and straight pipes with cherry bomb........had to cut into the hood to accommodate the air filter but flipped the cut out part and welded it backward to create a T-brid type scoop. Went like a rocket, cornered like a rollerskate. Lots of fun. Sold it to buy a motorcycle. More fun.
Well, this explains a LOT! Great news that your Dad is recovering from his stroke! YAY! Also good that you've been creative in cost avoidance for accessory parts. Looking forward to your next installment! Best to you and Dad!
Life's been a bit stressful, that's for sure! We're so glad to see him out the other side of it though, things could have ended very differently... 🙏 thanks Tom, really appreciate it and all the best to you and yours as well! 👍
Good to see you back, Ill admit I forgot about the build (and your humour). Ill throw you a comment and like for the algorithm - I know YT can be harsh.
Haha, well it has been a while! I’d say at least we still got this out in a more timely manner than Project Binky, but alas, that would be inaccurate. Thanks for the support man!
I ls swapped my ‘80 trans am during the first pandemic shutdown here in Ontario and I know full well how difficult it was to get parts at a reasonable cost. It did however force us to get creative, much like yourself. Great job, great content and all the best to you and your Dad.
Thanks Graeme, the lockdowns in ON have made things quite tricky for sure! Now there's just a general lack of inventory everywhere so the saga continues! lol. Spring's coming so enjoy your 'Am and I'll pass on your regards to Dad! 👍👍
Nice to see you back hope dads ok now
Thanks Denis, he's doing well and we're grateful it was "only" a wake-up-call!
Liking the 17:48 transition, liking the idea of AC even more! I can only imagine how much more action my GT would see if it wasn't an absolute oven in the warmer months. 110° day+turbo heat is enough to push you right out of the mood to drive it 😂
Thanks bro! Exactly! Having a comfortable cabin is going to be a huge point going forward, as it's such a small car (as you know) that once you've pretzel-ed your way in, you kinda need to just stay put! 😂 Cheers ✌️
