I’m at the beginning, where he this person thinks no one growing up in Compton has a happy or normal childhood. I imagine I’m in store for more wildly offensive generalizations.
@@Msboochie2 that exactly my point,a place got different areas some bad and some are good, you can't judge the whole hood or country by one particular bad place there.
“Since Kendrick, grew up in Compton, then it is understandable that he couldn’t have a normal and happy childhood.” What?! Where do you get this madness from? I’m certain that some people were lucky and managed to have a happy childhood, even though they lived in Compton. Omg, the people that live in these areas are just humans, people who just happen to live in a place where crime happens around them. There are some who participated, but not everyone.
Kendrick is an amazing person to be so young 💝🌱 Wonderful , intelligent person . I've never heard music like this before . Keep doing your thing young man CEE CEE from HARLEM NY
I liked Kendrick before but now dude this guys solid! He can joke about himself & naturally get embarassed like when he said told them about "bitch im in the club" hahaha dudes cool af
Kendrick has lead me to the path of understanding my spirit/energy in ways I never knew. His personality type matches my own and I am forever changed because of this identity crisis I've been in, thank god there are relatable people out there like himself. I love the god in you, Kenny.
I built the stage for Kendrick in Atlanta for college game day. It was so cold 🥶 but it didn’t phase him. I rocked it to for the build and load out just makes you stronger to overcome
This was a great documentary! I’m from Northern California and have a past of dating “members”. I’m aware of “politics”, but just learned of Southern California politics as recent as 2 years ago. With that knowledge, I understood the impact of the Pop Out, along with the Kendrick/Drake beef. This documentary shows that Drake was light work for Kendrick and he wasn’t even the focus. I can clearly see how NLU was a victory lap for him, but for a reason way deeper than beating Drake. It was somewhat of a conclusion to his journey of what he has been trying to do with his music, and what he experienced growing up. That picture with all those “members” is that much more meaningful to me after watching your documentary. I worry for Kendrick because when you do something so powerful, it seems like you’ve completed your purpose. I believe God calls people home when we’re close to fulfilling our purpose. Evil will never let the full purpose come to fruition. I’ll pray that we get to keep him longer, He has enough angels with Him already.

Please don't put it out there that because he grew up in Compton that he could not have a "happy or normal" childhood. That is not necessarily the case for everyone or "all" who grew up there. Despite the facts and what we contended with living there, there was also a strong sense of community and unity outside of the gang/drug/violence culture that surrounded our city. Proud, educated, successful, thriving, and giving back "Comptonite" here!
And this was the whole point....thanks for putting this out. Also it's hilarious that Jay has now gone from laughing at Dot to picking him for the Superbowl. I just hope Kendrick stays true to his authentic self the way he has all this time.
There were some nice black communities in Compton that were not engulfed in violence. There were several Catholic schools. My uncles have homes in Compton and have lived there since the 60s. I take offense to this narrator saying that it was Compton, so he couldn't have had a good life.
I got you. I said this way because many rappers from Compton said like it was hard living there. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I heard that living in Compton in 60s was much better than in the 80s. Anyway, I didn't mean to offend anyone with this.
Kendrick has been making noise since Like that to the point where hip hop felt the impact. It makes sense that he's headlining it. Wayne is going to drop the carter 6 next year and he'll headline the next one

it hits harder when you listen to him called himself a failure for what happened with his little sister.
Kendrick is brilliant. I love his admiration of Tupac. I love that he's a family man. God bless him.

like Nas didn’t elevate story telling in rap as a whole, not taking nothing from Kendrick cause you can’t, but don’t say nobody homie
