Eliminating GBV in Senegal: Empowering Community Actors For Social Change | The New Deal

This event will present Senegal's experience and results in empowering community actors for social change to eliminate gender-based violence, advance adolescent girls' sexual and reproductive health and promote their rights and wellbeing through the New Deal initiative and the Grandmother Project - Change Through Culture.
The New Deal is a multisectoral approach that aims to liberate and unlock the potential of young girls in Senegal. The "New Deal" or "Community Pact" was developed in an agreement between the girls' clubs, the parents and godmothers (bajenu gox) and the community to achieve a goal of "zero pregnancy and zero early marriage" within the girls' clubs.
