Wow, that's a LOT of bobbles for someone who doesn't like them! I'm with you--not a big bobble fan--they're just so . . . bobble-y. So I admire your commitment to stay true to the shawl pattern and make them anyway. I've knit one project with bobbles, the Simone Pullover by Gavriella Treminio. I did make the bobbles smaller than the pattern called for, and the sweater turned out great. I wear it all the time and receive many compliments on it. So it's a good thing to step outside one's comfort zone and experiment with something different. You never know what you'll learn--about knitting and yourself! 👍😉
Andrea- I'm always so delighted when I see that you've posted a new podcast. Your sense of style, passion for soft fibre and strong color sense are all so resonant with mine. It never fails that you're working on something that I want to make too! Years ago I made some collars, like the Cantabile, but tied with ribbons at the neck. I'd forgotten al about them, but now I must find them and do a 'wear again!" (And of course, make some new ones with this charming pattern. Thank you!) Can't wait to ZOOM with you!
Oooooh- I'd love to see those collars! Ribbons are a beautiful way to enhance them- send me photos through instagram if you het the chance. I'm in love with @lovesemeraldblue designs- so playful and fashionable- and one skein does the trick! xoxo
I love your enthusiasm and love of knitting. Your Selene sweater is lovely! Great use of minis and colour. I’ve put that pattern in my very long queue as well as the Campabella by Miki Teragaki. Not to mention a chicken for my grown up son! Just need to finish my No Frills sweater first. I had a bit of cast on-itis in February so just finishing a few things first. Can’t wait to meet on zoom. I’m one of the lucky ones ❤
Sounds like a perfect line up! I hope you received the email? There will absolutely be another zoom which I will schedule on a weekend day as many folks weren't able to attend that wanted to. xoxo
I LOVE YOUR PODCAST! I cast on the novice sweater kind of on the spot in some unspun while watching because it looks so gorgeous on you! Also really love the Cleo Loop and Chicken. Can't wait for the next one.
Love your Selene! Its amazing how color can change a design! Yours is so painterly looking - absolutely gorgeous!!! Wow! Miki Teragaki is SOOO talented! Thank you for putting me onto her work! I have to knit a pattern of hers (or two!). Thanks so much!
Wow! 🤯Mad respect for the bobble work. I only had to make about 6 bobbles for a sweater I made last Christmas and thought I was going to lose my mind 😵💫… also the Selene is absolutely stunning.
Oh wow! That must be so amazing! Do you follow @tribesyarnlife on Instagram? Their team has made some really cool pullovers using different colors of the Lang- ultra cool!
Yay! I'm so glad you're here! I have had the Felix on my list for ages- gotta' get to that!!! Enjoy the collar- it, along with lots of her accessory patterns are a joy and only require one skein!
Thank you for producing these wonderful videos. Your candor about what you like is spot on. You know your style which is a struggle for me and for most knitters. Thank you for bringing the artist approach to your knits, you can tell by the sparkle in your eye! Can't wait to see what your expressive self will do with the sleeve💖
Thank you! I've been knitting since I was 17, but only in the last few years have I really leaned in to personalizing each pattern. And I'm not done, which is why I love to think of knitting as a practice and to keep pushing forward!
Great projects, Andrea! I am working on the Dartmoor sweater by Caidree for the #dartalongkal using beautiful Lamana yarn in Color 64, a light green. Very engaging project! I will probably leave off the sleeves and make it a slipover version.
I love your style sister ❤ i am knitting the stockholm slipover in some homespun by petite knit and the purpurea light sweater by teti knit garden in biches et buches. I too knit the Laneua shawl. Which is divine. I knit mine in nutiden and 3 strands of mohair.. Currently im crushing on the Aase sweater from the Isager Archive Collection..
Beautiful projects and love seeing Howl (if that's their name). Adorable. I'm going back in time and currently knitting pattern from Laine's second issue. Sibeal by Isabell Kraemer. Knitting in linen blend and short-sleeved for warmer months approaching.
Sounds fantastic! Yes, my darling Howl who is mostly a rascal, yet super cuddly and soft and sweet. I'm staring a project soon with a linen blend yarn from Isager- how do you like the yarn you're using?
@@KNIT_LA Watching your most recent video, I know the feeling you are describing with the Isager linen you have. I had same experience with De Rerum Natura Antigone. I like a linen/wool blend much more. Won't be as cool to wear, but i don't like the feel of pure linen yarn on my skin. It never gets the softness and drape I'm hoping will occur after wearing over time.
Hi, I love your collar and cardi...great Spring vibes..also your color work is stunning. I'm working on the Peggy Sweater (on ravelry), using up some yarn I had in stash and happy to be using it ...finally!
Lovely episode. What if you saw your basket of one off skeins as your paint box of beautiful watercolours, oils and pastels rather than a shame. A joyful box of colour for creation . Without out that basket this would not come in being. Rather than a stash why not a artistic studio filled with tools, materials and inspiration for creation ❤
Yes! Thank you for sharing that beautiful imagery- you're absolutely right! Just a collection of material with which to eventually create beautiful pieces! I appreciate your perspective! xoxo
Your Podcast is one of my favorites !!! You have great taste, which is hard to find. I also enjoy By The Lakeside with Sandy. Did you change the pattern on the Cantabile Collar ? Yours looks so much better than the pattern on Ravelry. I just ordered yarn and mohair from Farmers Daughter. I bought I skein of Foxy Lady Speckles in the colorway A Case Of you and the soft mohair called Mighty MO in the colorway A Case Of You.
It was lovely seeing a new episode. Your pupper is so cuuute ❤ I am knitting the ongunquit cardigan by Norah Gaughan using some OG stash cotton/linen Berroco yarn called Lyndsey. Im bergere9 on Ravelry if you want to check it out. Your knitting is always an inspiration. 🌹
Hello from Denmark. I´m very inspired by your knitting and colours. I've seen a lot of Selenas but yours is beautiful. At the moment I'm knitting a pressed flower vest. Spincycle yarns are not an option here in DK. I'm knitting in Isager Merilin - black and white. Pretty pretty. See you next time, hugs
Hello! Thank you- I am loving the freedom I'm giving myself with the Selene- a very good pattern to experiment with, I think. Ooooh, I'll bet that vest will be gorgeous! Adore that pattern!
Such a joy to listen and watch your fiber journey!
Inspiring in so many ways!
Thank you Knit LA 🎶♥️🎶
Thank you! I'm so glad to be connected here!
You are so funny I will never look at bobbles the same way😂😂😂
😂

I might be open to bobbles.......they certainly make the shawl pattern as special as is it so I'm glad I went for it!

I love your podcast. Always showing beautiful designs and valuable tips ❤

Hi, I love your collar and cardi...great Spring vibes..also your color work is stunning.
I'm working on the Peggy Sweater (on ravelry), using up some yarn I had in stash and happy to be using it ...finally!
Thank you! It is a sweet combination, I agree:) Enjoy your sweater- knitting from stash does feel amazing!!!

Am working on two "Baby Gaga"s! My list of gift knits always out paces my own projects ...
Awwww, you are a generous knitter! Keep your tank full though and always have something special for yourself! xoxo
I love your style 🧶😊
Thank you🥰
Shoot. Now I want to knit a light pink cardigan🤦🏼♀️
Go for it! Pink would look beautiful on you!!! xoxo

Thank you for the podcast recommendation! My Cantabile is knit exactly to pattern- I chose the larger size. About to cast on another one!
I love your Novice sweater. I struggle with buttons. What type did you use-Mother of pearl? 🙏
Yes, I found some on Etsy that were very light weight and don't drag down the sweater.
Very cool! Just getting to this now, but I will check it out!!!
