Hi Andrea, I have enjoyed all you podcasts from down under so Happy Birthday 🥳🧁. I'm a new knitter who like you, has had many creative endeavors, including floristry too. I'm very inspired by the way you think about colour and texture and your openness to experimentation and problem solving. You make the process exciting, exhilarating even!!! Thank you for you kindness in sharing your talents. I knit quite a few beanies over winter last year. So far the Soho Top by Caidree is my favourite pattern. It is my first ever garment and I got through it, learning some new techniques along the way.

I will choose a pattern I have knit four times so far, for my first grand babies who are twins and were born last July. It's the Everly Cardigan by OGE Knitwear Designs. But then I really love Misurina by Caitlin Hunter and Dirty Caramel by Kutovakika, and Joji Locatelli's V-neck boxy, and.... so many! Re wearing knits in the heat, have you tried Quince and Co's Kestrel? I live in Maine so our hot days are nothing like yours in LA, but I love my Deschaines pullovers knit up in Kestrel. Anyway, my favorite pattern is a funny story really…
I bought a shawl kit from Chelsea Yarn Co. a while back, beautiful yarn and colorway and anyway it just sat around.
The pattern for it was Bay Ridge Shawl by Shaina Bilow (the owner).
I had been trying to challenge myself with some other multiple heavy duty projects (brioche, etc…) and needed something simple for breaks in between the complex stuff. It’s just a basic shawl pattern done in garter stitch. But it uses different yarn to fade in and out and before long I was throwing my own stash yarn in there too and it became this really cool beautiful mix of color and texture. It has fun fringe to finish it off and oh man the yarn is absolutely delicious, totally no scratch (as opposed to my beloved rustic stuff) and very bouncy and squishy. I wear it EVERYDAY!!! It goes with everything due to all the colors and it is my very favorite of anything I’ve made. 😊
Now I want to make bunches of them and have already started swooning over more of her yarn and dreaming of how I can mix and match and fade them in and out.

That’s really a difficult question to answer. I guess I actually have quite a few favorites. But, if I have to pick one - I will say my Ranch Coat, by Joji Locatelli. I love the yarn, the color, the fit, the pockets, and all the scrumptious cables.

Congratulations on your birthday podcast 🎈🎈🦋🦋after checking realized I haven't made myself much knit anything, most everything on my ravelry is gifts and what I'm working on now which is two projects, well those are going to be gifted also guess I'm more of a process knitter. I do have a favorite pattern and that was The Moon shawl by Sylvia Mcfaddon, first taste of lace and I've loved it since, stitch markers are a must! Thank you for the chance to at least fantasize about what I'll be making with that gorgeous yarn.... but if I do by chance win I don't have an Instagram account but do have ravelry.

One of my favorite things I have made for myself was the Zweig pattern by Caitlyn Hunter, made with a wooly soft dusty pink color and using a white fingering yarn held with white mohair with soft pink fuzzy alpaca for parts of the color work.

Congratulations on your podiversary 🎉 I so enjoy your love of fiber and things you create. My very favorite knit is Braids Of Grass by Ailbíona McLochlainn made in Nutiden and mohair. Living here in Southern California with you I’ve only been able to wear it for about 5 hours 😂. But it will be perfect for a trip to our mountains. Another favorite is the Corran cardigan, knit with my handspun and can be worn year round. I also love Nutiden, which I “collect”. I’m currently using it single strand for the Artus shawl. Thank you for all your time over the past year making videos and sharing inspiration ❤

My favourite so far is the kuutar top (as you are now making) I didn’t much enjoy the lace knitting (as a newbie knitter) but I love love love the finished garment. I knit mine in bomulin yarn from isager and the linen/cotton mix is perfect on hot summer days.
My favorite pattern is I can knit myself flowers by Malia Joseph. She collaborates with Stephen West. I really have enjoyed watching your podcast, I found you 6 months or so ago and I have to say I have learned a lot from you. I have been knitting and crocheting since I was a kid. Your finished shawl is a stunner!!! I am so envious of your courageous exploration and creativity in working with different yarns simultaneously. My favorite pattern to date has to be the Aurora Cabin shawl by Stephen West. It was my very first knitted shawl and it was long but I enjoyed knitting that pattern so much that I was happy and sad at the same time. I love the finished shawl but it was sad to not knit it anymore because it was that much fun for me.

Dear Andrea, I enjoy your videos and I feel very connected….maybe age has part in it too….. I am amassed that you managed to learn and switch to a new knitting style …. . I laughed when in one of your previous videos you said how with the Norwegian purl stitch “there is a lot going on “ 😂. Indeed that’s how I feel about it too. I do all sorts of combination knitting (as a child I was taught German and Russian style of knitting) but I do get best results when I do a “proper purl” I love your artistic approach. Please keep the inspiration flowing ❤

The most praised was a hat using up-cycled cashmere with pearls I knitted five years ago. I wore it every winter. My favorite knitwear designer is Nora Gaughan. I love her fascinate cable design.
