I’m just glad Adam Richman is still alive to tell these tales. This show always looked like culinary death sentences.
The carb heavy challenges seemed hardest for him. Some of those food challenges don't even make sense to me. I don't think it's necessarily an artistic expression just to make a huge amount of food and challenge people to eat it.

The thing that I like about Adam is that he’s just a regular guy, he’s not some expert food connoisseur or professional food eater, he just sees what he can eat and tries his best while showing off some great food challenges around USA.

@@gsesquire3441 totally untrue. You can cook baseball size meatballs to be moist if you simmer them in sauce long enough. A pork/veal blend cooked in a pot of red sauce for a few hours will come very moist because the outside will cook just as much as the inside.
@@gsesquire3441 of course you don't put them in the sauce raw lol. My Nonna bakes them at 400°F for 30 min so the outside forms a crust and then they go in the sauce. They are cooked through and the texture is always moist and soft.

Poor guy had to quit after so many seasons 😢 now he lost weight and looks great!
When he first retired, they tried to spin it claiming that he had done so many challenges, the audience would pretty much know whether or not he could defeat the challenge presented in the episode just by knowing what the challenge was going to be, and so bringing in other people to do the challenge made it more interesting. That turned out to be just a cover story. In reality, and he later admitted, he was starting to have some serious health issues, and that was why he actually stopped.
I would have loved to see Adam take on a GIANT SALAD.
That he survived so many seasons is a miracle.
You are behind by a couple years. He has gained almost all of that weight back.

For the Hellfire Wings challenge, Adam revealed on a podcast that after he finished, he found out that the cooks added about 10x as much dried habanero to his wings than they usually do.

I was a kid when this series aired and I used to love it. Now after knowing how it affected Adam, I feel so sorry for him.

You forgot Munchies where Adam Richman had to do the “Fire in the Hole” chicken wings, where they added A LOT of hot chili powder and the ENTIRE bottle of ghost pepper extract. As soon as he took one bite, he immediately felt extreme burns in his mouth. When he took a few more bites, Adam lost the challenge and was left in brutal pain. It’s like the restaurant was trying to kill him after hearing about Adam and the show itself.
Yeah, they did him dirty, man. Some real f*ck sh*t.
The restaurant owner was a total a$$ for doing that. After hearing Adam tell the story I was surprised the producers even featured that restaurant in the show. I'd have called the police and pressed charges. Upping the dosage of extract like that could be considered both poisoning and assault.

I felt so bad for Adam when he had these challenges. Either through supreme intensity of pain or the sheer size. I always thought he was pretty cute during his Man v Food days and I know he lost the weight in order to be healthier.

One time I ate like a million crawfish at the boardwalk and then went on a roller coaster. I threw it all up and the smell was awful. Throwing up any kind of seafood is actually hell.

Easily one of my favorite shows ever! I remember a lot of these. Always felt so bad for him on the hot wing challenge. You could tell he was in a lot of pain ☹️
Hot spice is dangerous if not conditioned. Either heart attack on one end or a burn right through the intestines stomach or/& esophagus. You need to build yourself up for it by slowly increasing onto hotter and hotter things. I've tried looking but can't find reaper scorpion or ghost pepper anywhere.
Another problem is gastritis and massive heartburn.
This show was a favorite of mine when i was a child, now i come here, expecting similar comments but i can only read about Matt ;---;) who is he??

I live in Texas and have been to the Big Texan three times now, and let me tell you something- there was a woman who went in to do the 72-ounce steak challenge and ate THREE OF THE 72-OUNCE STEAKS AND ALL THE SIDES. And all of this was in UNDER 20 MINUTES.
