      Thanks Madd Dadd. I really do need to watch where I'm stepping all of these dang rabbit holes. Model Railroading, Collecting Hot Wheels, and now Slot cars. LOL. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it...

    I just got this same set for Christmas. Love the wireless controllers. Great video. I have been in HO and N scale for years and just started my slot car journey in September. You will love the ghost car function. I also did an unboxing video of this set. I noticed you are a spiderco feller too. Subbed.

      You are so right about the ghost car. Now I can race against the computer. No more just trying for lap times. This is soooo cool. Also I'm actually incorporating my old HO scale slot car tract into a new HO scale model railroad layout. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I appreciate it... Take care.

      When racing ghost cars and to make it more challenging I take out my rear magnet. Since you can only program a ghost car so fast since they don’t slow down in the turns and won’t D slot. Great unboxing video.

    I just received the same set today. I also have the App Connect and 2 more cars (Lambo and BMW) coming. The pit lane will likely be my next purchase. Fun Stuff !

      Nice..... I want more cats also, but I'm saving my money for more track. I have a 5 foot by 14 foot space in a spare bedroom to create a layout. I want to build a track similar to the one that MPSlotcar on UA-cam has....

    Carrera's 1/43 scale cars also run well on the 1/24 scale track when it is equipped with Carrera's Evolution analogue control system.

      Really? I've been looking into those 3rd party switch boxes that can change from digital to analog. That would be cool. Carrera has some really nice 1:43 F1 cars, especially for the price. Thanks for watching and commenting. Take care.

      Is this Slot Valley Racing from UA-cam. If it is. Thank you for your videos. I also have my old HO scale slot track that I am incorporating into an HO scale model railroad layout and have subbed to you and watched all of your videos to get ideas from your track layout and what cars I want. Thanks for watching. Take care.

      I'm just getting started myself. The first three additional items that I purchased were the pit lane extension, the blue tooth dongle, and the smart race app from the Google play store. And I'm glad I did. You need the blue tooth dongle to use your phone or tablet to communicate with the track and the smart race app. Look up the smart race app on UA-cam. It brings a while new level of realism to the track. Especially in conjunction with having the pit lane extension. Next for me will be more track pieces including more lane changers oh and two to four more wireless controllers. I have about a 6 foot by 14 foot area in a spare bedroom to create my track layout. Thanks for watching and asking a great question. Take care....

      You should get it out and set it up. That how this all started with me. I still have my old lifelike glow in the dark t-bird set that I got out for the 4 year old grandson and the bug hit me hard. Started researching slot cars because like most of us in our "later" years 😁 haven't messed with them for thirty plus years and when I saw what was out there in the digital world of slot car racing..... Let's just say I have a very understanding and supportive wife. Thanks for watching and commenting. I enjoy talking to folks about these great hobbies... Take care..

    How are you getting on with the carrera stuff ? I bought the evolution set first and then the retro grand prix digital set. After 2 hours i went all analogue and now race cars from tons of different brands (nsr,revoslot, scx,brm,tts,fly,policar ,all will run analog without spending a fortune on digital chips . Carrera digital is ok if you only run carrera cars ,but can get very expensive if you like the models that the other brands produce. Thats way i run non digital on my Carrera system now 😊.but i do understand how some folk like the digital options.pits fuel and six cars together ,we all have our different preferences and likes 🤗..Greetings from Northern Europe ..Harry

      Hello Harry. So far I am loving the Carrera Digital system. I love being able to switch lanes and over take other cars. And the fact that I can run 5 ghost cars to race against is the main reason why I went digital. I don't have a whole lot of friends that can "come out and play" anymore. Everyone is busy with their families and life. You know how that goes. I just finished the framework for a 5 foot by 14 table for a layout. Going to put the plywood top on today, then I need to buy some polystyrene insulation boards to put down. After that I am going to use what I've learned from years if model railroading and hopefully build a decent looking layout with nice scenery. Thank you for watching and it was nice conversing with you. Take care

    I was hoping to see some more videos with your race to victory set. I bought the same one. After several months and expanding it I came to couple of conclusions. All the sets regardless of 132 or 124 only come with R1 corners. That’s an unfortunate trap. While it makes the set fit a smaller area they are not ideal for track flow. I would have thought the 124 would have at least bumped them up to an R2. A track planning app is essential if you want to control cost. Bigger corners are $60-90 for each 180 degrees of turn depending on availability. The corners flow much better when using larger radius pieces on the exit. I hope to have my semi permanent layout finished later this year.

      I will be having much more coming in the future. I have used the autobahnplaner software, probably didn't spell that correctly, to create some track layouts. I have built a table in my spare bedroom that is 5 feet wide and 14 feet long so those are the constraints that I have to work with. I know what you mean about the limited pieces you get in the starter kits, but that is what they are. I need about 1200 dollars worth of track and Digital add ons to get the layout I want, as soon as the pieces become available that is. I do have two other videos showing my track as it is right now. A short running a bunch of cars on ghost mode and an unboxing video of the Mann filter audi r8. In that video I lap the car so you see more the track. But the track is not in the configuration that comes with the starter directions of the race to victory set. It's more of an oval. Take care and thanks for watching and commenting.

      I have been learning a lot about track design and modification .There are many videos out there. Unfortunately some of the really good ones are only in German. But you get the idea from watching. The course I am building uses portions of real world tracks. I found the engineering data for the turns. I am currently construction the corkscrew from Laguna Seca. That section is 14’ long and drops almost 4’.

      That sounds awesome. Please share your track with us when you have it together. And yes I also watch a lot of the German carrera videos. Thankfully some of them are decently subtitled.

      I haven’t had time yet to start working on the Slotit. M8D white kit I bought. I have a complete airbrush setup with a paint booth. I use an Iwata Neo for most things. I was considering using the Createx acrylics. I use the cheaper craft paint on my RC aircraft but those I sandwich between layers of Polycrylic. I am at a bit of a loss on what to paint this one with. I also have a 70 Roadrunner model kit in 1/24 that I want to start on. Same deal, not sure what process to use.

      I use createx brand airbrush paints for anything that I want a good paint job on. I have Actually been messing around with their candy 2.0 paints lately and freaken love them. I have a video on my channel where I painted a 32 ford matchbox card with one of their candy orange with a metal flake base. It turned out awesome.

    The red 20 is very fast.

    • @PaulsRailroad
      @PaulsRailroad  6 місяців тому +1

      It is very fast and it handles the corners much better than the KTM Xbow. Probably because of the loner wheel base.

    How much did you pay for this?

    • @PaulsRailroad
      @PaulsRailroad  5 місяців тому

      It wasn't cheap. I bought it from carreraslots.com. I bought the race to victory set, the pit lane kit and the Bluetooth dongle so I could use the Smartrace app with it. I don't remember exactly what I paid for it, but I did a lot of shopping around before I bought it and carreraslots was the cheapest.

      Thank you sir. I am right now gathering up wood to build a layout table for it in a spare room. The table will be 6 feet deep and 14 feet wide. I've been working on track layout designs for weeks now trying to figure out what I want. It's such a blast. Take care brother.
