Accompanying scary footsteps, the music changing, the fact that he will pop up in random places (except a couple scripted times), and each playthrough will have him show up in a place you didn't think he could. You should play the snes version if you haven't!
The fact that Mr. X crouches when he goes through a door is such a specific detail and I love it. Not only is it extremely daunting and foreboding seeing this massive mutant crouch whilst going through a doorway sending shivers down your spine, but it can also slow him down for a second letting you get away from him a tiny bit more. Not to mention the footsteps. They're so chilling! I've been watching MadlyBadassHero's play through of it, and the last 10 minutes of it is just him standing in the locker room, hiding from him, listening to those footsteps. You thought Claire was harder because you were playing Claire B. However even Claire A is a little harder than Leon A simply because Leon has a much better way of dealing with zombies.
I watched let's plays n everyone seemed to be using Leon, so I picked Claire, n oh sweet hell, that reload time was terrifying. Imagine if you played the entire game with that, n never found the speed loader, or 2nd pistol
Claire B is definitely harder than Leon B simply because her .45 pistol is so much worse than his. As for Claire A, I didn't find it that much harder, but I really started to miss Leon's shotgun.
@@manbearpigsereal Yeah, Claire has her grenades, but acid grenades are only crafted and from my experience, not much better than flame grenades. Those can fry zombies and lickers with just one shot most of the time, but you can't rely on them too much since you'll need them for the ivies at the NEST. I usually just used all the high-grade powder to make SMG ammo, saving the standard gunpowder for 9mm ammo, at least in the B scenario.
The Racoon Ciry police departement was an old museum reopened. Its a piece of art thus the puzzles and overall design. Also there are rumours about a DLC coming for fixed angles like the classic. Hope thats true but who knows.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who, upon thinking Res Evil 2, hears the police station main hall music in my head. Minor spoiler here, but I think it would've been a cool change that instead of only watching tge VHS tapes of Hunk and his team vs Birkin, we got to play those segments like RE7 did.
Still would like to get a full standalone single player game where you play as an Umbrella soldier or merc. We rarely if ever get to play as the bad guys in games.
Overall though, excellent game. Likely one of the best of 2019.
Turok evolution was an amazing ps2 Dino game too
The second that one guard got split in half, I knew I was in for a good ol time
9:43 Indiada Jodes from joe reference!!! XD
I'm actually sad no one's seen that vid. 2007 kids where u at!?
You help us find thing or we blow up your face!
Indianaaa freakin’ Jones
Indianaaa freakin’ Jones kicks ass!
Take some Idols, find some bones
Crack some whip
Go to places
Melt faces
And then save the day!
on the whole gunpowder rant:
...i personally thought you would eventually find a machine to use all that Gunpowder with,
it never came to me that i had to combine it. :I
I don't get why you guys don't read. But hey i get it. You ain't got time to read like 15 texts. (I don't think i wrote "text" right on the plural version)
@@MariusBoss11458 there is legit a note with the recipes i just got re2 yesterday finshed leons campaign today and i found it within like 40 mins into it
@@K1llM31FYouCan Same. Just not sure why everyone just skips those thoe. They too scared? Man you're safe while reading something.
Another sighting of the mysterious Catticarus has been reported.
Brilliant remake. Even being a many times through veteran and recognized the beats, they were mixed up in just the right way too really make it fresh. Also X was such an intimidating beast.
I love your energy for these games bc you and I are basically the fkn same down to the quips and rants. And I can see that this is where you started to put down the Adderall and pick up the ramen. HOLY SHIT that piercing sound just hit and I have tinnitus and my ears are bleeding. Warnings please 👍
pretty darn good
Dude, the intro got you a like. I love your commentary and it made me laugh. You also slipped in a music track from another game of my childhood that was oh so innocent and cute before I got to meet RE2 later on that same console, Croc: The Legends of the Gobbo's... That is a sub (though I may have already been subbed...)! xD
@@DeltaSpark8 What makes Leon easier is his access to the shotgun. He can just oneshot any problem zombies, Claire doesn't have that kind of option.
@@manbearpigsereal One shot...? They tend to survive when I do it. Sure, they fall over, but they're still alive and eager to bite my leg.
The Racoon Ciry police departement was an old museum reopened. Its a piece of art thus the puzzles and overall design. Also there are rumours about a DLC coming for fixed angles like the classic. Hope thats true but who knows.
Caddy: *Says Spiders*
Me: *Closes eyes for the rest of the video*
Honestly the ink ribbon thing being put in hardcore mode only was the best decision I hate the ink ribbon thing.
Capcom did good on this remake. Now i just hope Devil May Cry 5 is good as well.
I was so bloody excited to see you make a video about this game!! Great job Caddy!
7:05 I'm literally dying of laughter
I thought the police station was actually the only place where puzzles made any sense, since it used to be an old museum.
Imagine if someone made a mod in which another player controlled Mr. X chasing you down
Is that even possible? I hope it is
The game is a piece of art that everyone (who love this genre) needs to play. It's simply a masterpiece!
This is just big bois Luigi’s mansion
I'm glad I'm not the only one who, upon thinking Res Evil 2, hears the police station main hall music in my head. There was just something so satisfying about reaching it and having that grandiose track play. Had to buy the original soundtrack DLC to play over it after my first playthrough. No original voice acting though.
Can’t wait for the free dlc for this game
I hope you can kill the Chief as the mayor's daughter. They're "what if" stories, right?
And hey, a year later and that RE3 remake is right around the corner!
You were almost a SUPER SHAG SANDWICH !!!
I'm thrilled to bits that you liked this game :)
I didn't know you had a cat????!?!!?!!!??!
I have 2!
Mac Mcskullface wtf why would you assume his dog would kill it, especially a good boi like Stanley
Mac Mcskullface so you think that all dogs kill cats
@Mac Mcskullface I agree with these people WTF dude why would say something so stupid?
@Mac Mcskullface no matter if it's a joke or not the myth that cats and dogs hate each other is stale and boring. Tom and Jerry with that big bulldog this is NOT
I had the same exact first time experience. "I platinumed REmake, hardcore here I come!" *Proceeds to die 3 times in the intro before shamefully changing back to normal*
I saw that Pippa peg in the thumbnail.
Good point about the explosions causing tinnitus. I keep thinking of Archer, with Leon going around all game saying: mmmmmop
Now I want Capcom to remake the original Devil May Cry with better gameplay.
Maybe after DMC5
You're saying DMC1 doesn't age well? I still thought DMC1 are different game to DMC3/4 & 2
DMC1 is good as it is.
1 would lose a lot of the charm imo. The gameplay is slower and less varied than 3 and 4 but it has a simple fluidity caused by the fewer options. That and it is unique in still having RE design aspects. A DMC remake wouldn't feel like DMC anymore. That and it's the only game directed by Kamiya.
Fuck the first game DMC 2 NEEDS it that game was shit
Not that I really needed more reasons to get this game (when I can afford it...), but you just gave me even more reasons to need this game in my life.
No Spiders. I can play this game
That may change. 😈
17:31 That is because that was a pre-order bonus
hell, from what I heard early on it was going to EXCLUSIVELY be a pre-order bonus, the fact that they released it as a purchasable DLC is actually a nice thing.
It’s a Deluxe edition bonus, not a pre-order bonus. Pre-order bonuses were Chris and Jill’s Samurai Edge variations.
Mr. X gon give it to ya
He gonna give it to ya!
Omg I legit laughed at the opening gag. Caddy your the best and I wish you would get to a million subscribers already.
The knife "isn't that high in damage"?
Oh sweet summer child.
As a person who hasn’t played, is it upgradable or something?
As a person who played, what?
@@YOURdailydoseofJoJo No, but if you find all the shootables in this game, you unlock an unbreakable knife. You can slice and dice fallen enemies to your heart's content.
This is my favorite video by you. Nice, dude!
There's a note that tells you how to mix gunpowder. It's even under the first gunpowder you get. Even if you somehow missed that, each gunpowder type says what it does and what it can be mixed with in the menu. Lastly, the police station used to be a museum, hence why there are so many weird things in there. This is also explain in an obvious note that's hard to miss.
Great video Cadd! I started UA-cam last year as I travel the world riding rollercoasters and let me tell you, I’m glad Mr.X isn’t following me around!
I loved the Blur reference
The record room is a 50% trigger for mr X to appear
Running of like that was reckless and stupid!-Leon,1998
One of his funniest lines in the original was "I don't think I've introduced myself yet. My name's Leon. I'm with the RPD" even though his uniform clearly already shows that and Ada just has a "Thank you Captain Obvious" reaction.
Caddy! You can set the audio to be just like in the original game if you go to the settings!!! I did it and I will never change it again. It fits everything so perfectly and it still works amazingly to this day.
19:22 all the people so many people they all go hand in hand hand in hand through their parklife
Finished my Leon B playthrough last night and Resident Evil 2 is a serious contender for game of the year despite the fact it's only sodding February right now!
Naw I found Claire's super easier. Had waaay too much ammo
I'm glad you mentioned that diary on 14:33, it hit me as hard as a rock, man
