I’m just glad some people can listen with an open mind. I can’t lie it stings a little when I hear people call it trash specifically because it’s too “gay”. Or they don’t like house music so they dismiss it in general. I’m so happy and touched she was inspired by ballroom. I cannot define Alien Superstar or any of the songs in the traditional song structure of verses, chorus, and bridge that is the only thing that frustrates me. How am I supposed to describe certain parts of the song that stand out in the moment without singing the whole damn part.

the album was like "the green grass has grown and the animals are fed" levels of prosperity. It's giving life. Some people were lucky to have Renaissance drop on their birthday. Best gift of all time.

Alien Superstar is a song out of this world. I promise, I had the same relationship with this song and I was embarrassingly wrong about it. The verses embody strength! Girl, that Unique has been an alarm clock ever since this album came out!!! I now know Alien Superstar word for word top to bottom because of just how she elevates you in that song! I just can't on her artistry
I'm so glad to hear appreciation for "The Gift" it's so underrated, it's criminal. I don't get how people don't like it more. But Energy, Move, and Heated are for 'The Gift' girlies, a gift for us.
I absolutely love The Gift. Had that whole album on repeat for weeks! I loved the fact that she showcased African artists on it and those afrobeats just touch my soul. Move and Energy on Renaissance are actually my 2 favs and wish they were longer. This whole album is absolute perfection.
Cozy is definitely slept on, (took me a few listen to really get it) and I had the same reaction to alien superstar! I loved the hook and thought the song was cute but within the past few days it’s hit me that it’s one of the best songs Bey has ever made. Every time I listen to alien superstar I feel like I’m levitating. I cannot WAIT to hear it live.
