- The protagonist of this episode of Combat Approved is the fast attack craft Project 21631 Buyan-M. I remember October 7th, 2015. What the Buyan and Kalibr did was technologically most impressive indeed. IMHO, this was a major demonstration to the USA, UK, The EU, and NATO, that a major war against Russia and her fellow travellers is Simply Unwinnable.
This vessel offers such an amazing bang for the buck that the Russian admirals would be crazy to not have tons and tons of these.

RUSSIA is rapidly increasing it's naval military prowness .........at a large scale...........NOT TO BE OUTDONE by NATO or US's NAVY.
The only increasing thing is their frigates & subs. Their other naval equipment is still stuck with 80 & 90s tech still. So i would say they are still quite behind
Naturally because Russia is so large and has so much resources they need a fairly large and capable military to protect it, which is wise.
