White clouds would be my only addition. Beautiful little active fish. I have Burmese Rummy nose ( I know they are a rasbora though) and they alerted me to a faulty heater I had in the tank by fading a little. Great work Blake.
Dwarf Gouramis maybe were hardy many years ago, but one of the more common sights now on FB is beginners asking "Whats wrong with my dwarf gourami?" Answer: It's dying. I recall them as hardy years ago, but the comments quickly fill up with folk detailing early deaths with the blame landing firmly on the trade.
Yeah I was worried about that I hear they’re often prone to disease and suffer problems with inbreeding, particularly those coming from overseas fish farms But even if they’re healthy it’s worth noting that they have an attitude similar to bettas, and some individuals can be very aggressive
Platys were my first fish! I agree 100% they are perfect starter fish. I bought a pregnant female without knowing and woke up to lots of fry one day but my 10 gallon didn’t crash!
Honestly zebra danios are GORGEOUS and if I was going to keep a freshwater aquarium again I would have a species aquarium of just them with maybe some pretty cherry shrimp on the bottom. They're SILVER with blue stripes so you really can't go wrong with them!❤
my 1st aquarium was 2 silver dollars. 10 tiger barbs 1 clown loach and a common pleco. all in a 60 litre tank. I was 10 my parents got me a tank for Xmas. and to be fair to them. the had the tank setup and cycled for Xmas day. they knew nothing about fish keeping at the time. they still don't lol. but the guy in the shop helped them. but not sure about his choice of fish for a 60 litre tank. but it was 30 years ago now 😆
Ive been a cichlid guy from the beginning as my best mate kept them when we were in school. So my first fish was a jack dempsey that was 35 years ago lol.Im glad you had a cichlid in the line up.

Great video - would you recommend Kribs over Bolivian Rams?
They are on par with each other I'd say. No clear pick between those great fish.

It is worried about way more than it should be I reckon :)
I just gotta say, I *love* the options you listed here, some great less common choices, and very helpful advise and info on all of them too! 👏👍
