woah, this is one of the coolest most informative videos/ podcasts that I've ever listened to. so cool to learn this stuff that I would have no other way of learning without years of experience. So rad, Thank you andrew miller!
Very interesting interview! ArcDroid which does 90-95% of a big plasma table does without taking half of the workshop for only 2.5k is an amazing tool every small fab shop must have. I can't do anything these days without my CNC plasma table anymore. Interview sound levels could be a bit higher.
EXCELLENT Interview. I learned SO much about the challenges of manufacturing in China. Andrew Miller is such a great knowledge resource. Tap into that.
So sad to hear about those Subaru gc8s. Wills gc better make it on the channel before it gets the same story. Considering the last podcast🤣 Also you guys are equal to Rogan in my books.
For the vertically mounted arc droid you could probably run a rope from the torch up through a pulley and back down to a counterweight that weighs roughly what the arm assembly does. It wouldn't be perfect because the arm is "heavier" the further away the head gets from the mounting point, but it would help a lot. If you make the counterweight easily adjustable you can probably find some happy medium between arm all the way retracted and all the way extended that works.
Personally, I could see the support issue of the arm being fixed with a form of support structure that can move *with* the plasma cutting head itself. AKA, like a 2d plane of sorts that you can move along. Such as like a map of some kind with a frame that has two straight axis sliders that can move around a lens sort of thing. Basically, at that point would be making it where the plasma head is on a sturdy slider system that moves around with the plasma head of the arc droid. You could also have the arm be able to extend itself if it needs to.
2 things… you may already know, but in case not, 1 the volume is really low compared to the ads, and 2 the logo, as cool as it is, is way too busy when it’s shrunk into a tiny circle. A more simple avatar may help people notice when you post. Great interview though Thank you Much ❤ Love
Love the content, but please work on the audio leveling. My dog almost peed on the floor when the first add rolled because of how loud I had my speakers turned up.
you boys need better mic stands. the ones your using with the hard mounts transfers all the taps from the table to the audio. you need the ones that hold the mics with the rubber bands or whatever. If you could suspend them with say floor stands that that hold them off the table completely that would be best. the mics are great just isolate them. other than that your killing it guys. (i am a professional soundman)
Edwin, I love the podcast content, but will you please fix the audio on future podcasts? The podcast volume is waaay lower than the youtube ads, and my eardrums are getting blown out every time you guys start laughing or when an ad rolls.

Evening fellow fabricators.
Yes I am going to have to get the arc Droid
You will not regret it!
I work with Andrew in HK at Spin Master toy company during a internship! Got a nice ride in his Subaru too!

It's truly amazing!
Enjoyed the interview and the little insights to the manufacture/inventing life.
