You need to rant more about how Google is just damn broken. Not only the "Superchats" that aren't even remotely super, but also the massive lag in CC auto generation. They're still not up almost a week later... The Time Stamp Guy gets his job done in a few minutes, how can a fricken algorithm not get its done in a week?
On the subject of 10 points of good videos, which came from talking about Linus' management style, which is a bit like Steve Jobs, "just go do it", style, what I'd say is everyone has an ego. Everyone wants to do it their way, but to be a team you have to have a central view. If we don't put our ego aside to go with the collective flow, we have chaos. It's not always easy to do that, especially when you have good skills, but it needs to happen for a singular direction.

2:12:40 was my absolute favorite moment, just completely nonchalantly sets up the question, waiting a moment for it to sink in for Luke, before immediately moving onto the next question lmao
I'm 3 weeks behind and only able to catch up via spotify. When they start a build stream I die inside a little because I love every bit of content but it's hard sometimes to keep up. The only reason I'm not YET subscribed on Floatplane.
Blizzard does numbers in the handle, which made me very happy because I could finally have a name that I wanted, without wasting time thinking of names that weren't yet taken.
This is exactly why companies like Bungie and blizzard use this system. So the names can be unique even if someone else has the same name. Going back on this is incredibly dumb
Would be so easy for discord to just continue support for both username types 1: choose a username 2: [optional] choose a handle Case #1 (no handle) Auto generate a unique handle through the old system. Case #2 (with specific handle) Try to use said handle Case #3 (already registered and want the new system) Change handle within the account
Yes that would be great, and with no handle you cant be searched, Since discord is a pretty private messaging application. Direct dms, calls, private groupchats. handles make it more of a social media but theres no account frontpage to 'tweet' 'update' ppl on. But those that choose to get an @ handle can be searched without needing the numbers
Literally like 2 weeks ago I used your HDMI cable testing information to convince my boss that we, as an AV integrator, should use properly tested and certified cables rather than random cables from amazon. AND IT WAS LITERALLY THE SAME PRICE! I was trying to say this for almost a year at that point and had ran into SEVERAL issues with crappy cables, but it took your excel graph to get my boss and the CEO onboard.
I think this illustrates why there should be legislation that requires corporations (that sell products at a certain scale) to have "certified engineers" who will blow the whistle on anti consumer behavior. (In the licensure talk 2:15:40) If it seems that corporations will just do bad things and not hire good people who would prevent that that's a sign that something should force them to change this behavior, probably more/stricter pro environment and pro consumer laws. (This could also help against corporation replacing every engineer, software developer with immoral AI...)
@@Xfade81 its was a very short one, someone wrote something like, "i bought some birdseed, how long after i plant it can i expect birds" and luke was just like what that doesnt make sense, and they went straight to the next question.
I think the original point of the numbers was it ensured privacy. If you remember a name, you also have to remember the number. It was great, people couldn’t just message people if they knew a username from a different platform. And ya, it did fix username camping. And it’s been undone completely. Fuck you discord.
as long as visible usernames continue to be tied to each server it should still work the same way since they'd need to know your primary username to message you. knowing the numbers just allowed you to get around that part.
But that makes impersonation much easier. They don't remember your numbers, so anyone else could just change their names to yours and they would think its you.
Discord has been a great platform for the most part. If they continue listen to their client base, they won't go through with this. Unless they purposefully want to upset their userbase
As a female that loves LTT & your products, it makes me really sad your underwear sales haven't been higher. I hope that doesn't discourage you from making more stuff. One piece of feedback I'd say is I'd like the legs of the boyshorts to be a bit longer as they do ride up a little bit. Other than that I love them & ordered more pairs.
For Discord the number are great since then you can have any name you want, Blizzard uses something similar and it's great not having to fight over names and have the one you want This change is just for the sake of change and it's really backwards
You can't have any name you want though. With this new system, I could have "poochyenarulez" but with the old system, I was forced to have a random 4 digit number added to the end.
@@poochyenarulez that's because (i don't believe it) that 9999 people have that name on discord, discord could easily add a fifth character or even more, like #99999 You literally don't even see the # in chats.
Twitter: we are going to charge for user verification to stop spoof accounts. Discord: we are gonna make it easier to share user names by removing random characters (trust us bro we are totally not introducing chargeable check marks we swear)
@I Like Pingu some small fraction tencent > completely by musk And I'll be honest, not by a heck of a lot. But I'm also somewhat confident tencent is BOTH a neferious sudo-wing of the CCP as well as a company trying to make good investments. It seems impractical for them to force a company like discord to do much by investing an uncontrolling amount in any company.
Linus may not see this but I'm gonna leave this here anyway: I have a solution for that "UA-cam app not supporting stories" problem. Always make sure you open YT app in portrait mode i.e. on the smaller display. The reason stories disappear on the landscape display is because most Google apps seem to adapt to either the phone mode or tablet mode depending on the aspect ratio of the window it is opened in. For example: I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I too get the tablet version of YT if I open it normally. However if I open it as a pop up window in portrait mode, the app completely changes and shows me the better phone version of YT. Hope this helps! ✌️
I found numbers in the Discord handle were very smart in that you can choose whatever simple nick you want and it just works. Retaining 4 digits is fine. If I was Discord, I would make the UI usable.
I was under the impression that he was reading people's names and everyone was using the name hey dll and then reading your comment I realized it means Dan Luke Linus
i love the show so much that i don't usually watch it on the weekend because there's too many distractions here at my house. i like saving it for when im at work. but the crappy thing is, i have Monday off this week so now i cant watch the show til Tuesday.
THANK YOU for saying the bit about rumors. It's so messed up how much bandwidth they take from actual journalism. I used to have a tech blog with a few friends and we opted out of talking about rumors and that pretty much killed us off. People seem to want hype for some reason now, makes no sense. Companies in every field want people whipped into a spending frenzy with leaks and trailers etc.
I know! It looked like Luke was reading something on the screen when Dan was reading it out, so he was probably only half-listening. I thought it was funny though!
@@Yoko4797 Yes, it was the funniest joke ever recorded in the history of the humankind. Obviously it was a very old joke for children, but still Luke could not get it. Dan must be thinking he is with idiots.
What really frustrates me about the discord name change thing is that having custom numbers has been a paid nitro feature for a long time. Many people use them to add to their username
As a pure Teamspeak user for voice chat till this day, getting into Discord 5 years ago was hell. And I still struggle with the management interface daily. Especially the one given in the app. So many things are so many levels down that it just isn't a fluent work experience. Not gonna say that setting up a Teamspeak server with rights, auto-afk, no-chat channels and all that stuff is easy. But damn, nothing was intuitive when getting into Discord. I got used to it, but once you add bots it starts to become a whole other mess. The lack of features that should be basic (like auto delete) Discord is still not my go-to.
I've had a Discord account since the early days, but never really liked the service if I'll be honest. I pretty much only use it to chat with a handful of friends because they prefer it. I vastly prefer self-hosted Mumble for voice comms, for privacy reasons - and I'll likely never use Discord for that. It's also moved a lot of things that in the days of yore would've been on searchable forums or wikis to what's basically invite-only modern hipster IRC, making a lot of info hard to find, difficult to search, and easy for a rogue/bored mod to nuke out of existence. I absolute hate that, tbh.
@@sosukelele In defense of my thesis not everyone with a beard looks like a viking. Some wooly cloths... a helmet with some horns.. change the LTT water bottle to a beer mead cup.... an axe in their hands.. ...some badass vikings I would not want to mess around with.

I think a lot of these manager issues boil down to managers often thinking in terms of "now I _get to_ be in charge" rather than "now I _have to_ be in charge" - seeing it in terms of status maintenance rather than as a means to an end
1:52:10 Just as a correction the 11th gen surface studio is an update as the original was 7th gen intel and the Mac Pro has been updated with new gpus like the Radeon Pro W6900X
It has always been social media, just that it was gaming-focused. These decisions might harm the service by lowering its uniqueness, especially since Discord has been the last big gaming social media ever since Miiverse was shut down.
I wish you guys had got Forgotten Weapons on to the show for the Biofire segment He's talked to Biofire execs, and done a fair bit of hands-on with the gun He's also dealt with the Armatix Smart Gun, which is probably what you're thinking of The Biofire gun is fundamentally different to the others, as it was built from the ground up as a smart gun using a new operating mechanism and electronic interlocks to prevent firing vs previous mechanisms that locked out a conventional Browning tilting barrel mechanisms

The Thorim rings look great, I actually went and researched them a while back. My big issue with them is that they are a bit pricy, which in itself isn't a problem, the problem comes from the value. With a gold or silver ring I know that if let's say I wanted or needed to get rid of it that I can take it to a jeweler and get X amount of money back, we know the value of gold/silver, so it's easy to determine if this $3000 ring is actually "worth" it or not. With the Thorum rings on the other hand there is no way to put a objective value on the rings, so it's really difficult to figure out if they are worth it or not. Which really sucks because some of the rings look amazing.
I really respect Linu's decision to not hire a chef for his kids. I think it's more important to just let them help with food themselves, etc and a very smart choice of him. You can cook healthy food at home that's not a gourmet meal too. Doesn't have to be made by a professional chef to be healthy :)
The thing with Biofire's smart gun is apparently that it is the first smart gun that's made to be smart from the ground up. Every other smart gun were just normal guns with smart features added to them, hence you could circumvent them with a magnet. Having problems to fire at a prototype stage is normal with every single new gun that is in development. Weapon manufacturing isn't just simple as making a gun and it just works. It's very clear that the whole smart gun segment was added just because "haha funny memes"
Can't wait for more auto videos! There should definitely be a dedicated channel for that! And production value from LTT will be amazing on the space! Just DON'T do it like MKBHD does Auto Focus with smartphone!
Discord removing numbers just backwards..... It's so much easier to find who you're looking for with those numbers because there can't be anyone similar to it ! What did cause issues however is when people use custom fonts and wingdings in their name. Remove that functionality when searching usernames, but keep customisation only a visual thing on servers (because i believe in the right to customize) but it makes searches reeaaaal hard. And update releases should always be reserved for Tuesday's !
Is it just me or has the wan show gotten quieter? Usually I only need 1 tick to listen on my ear buds, but now I need 4 or 5, same with my PC headphones. I know my hearing isnt degrading abnormally but I didnt know if it was just me.

As a guy who grew up with a private cooked (my family wasn't extra rich or anything, a house maid who can also cook was just cheap back then), I can say that you probably don't have to be worried too much about your kids. I actually grew up to become a fairly competent cook, and actually cook whenever I have the oppotunity. If anything, having some people cook for you as a kid, actually expose you to the cooking experience
Hey, a few quick comments about BioFire (from an American whose two favorite subjects are firearms and tech) Yes, so-called "smart firearms" have been around for a while, the difference being is that those are almost always *conversion kits* for existing guns, whereas this one is an original design. With what I've seen from their material, it's marketed towards people who may have others in the home who should not have access to the gun. Failure to fire when it needs to is bad, but the idea behind the design is to never fire unless you know the correct user is holding it… this design is one of the most effective I've personally seen, yet still has so many issues with user confirmation. As far as American gun owners boycotting previous "smart" guns, there was a law passed in New Jersey that said (super TLDR) as soon as a commercially viable smart handgun was sold, "non-smart" handguns would become illegal to sell in the state 3 years after that epoch. That was a big reason why gun owners boycotted them in the past, and also because there isn't a massive market for that tech to begin with. Most smart guns that have existed are either remarkably unreliable as a firearm (possibly the fate of BioFire) or remarkably unreliable as a safety feature (almost all the others I can think of). Either way, if the tech does advance, eventually someone is going to be hurt (or worse) as a result of one of those two functions failing because the user was relying more heavily on a LiDAR camera than on gun safety as a whole. /rant over
10:50 "I've done all the talking." - Linus addressing Luke and asking a Discord related question. Luke immediately asking Linus what he would do... Back to staring at his phone.
The whole how do i read my boss's mind question depends entirely on your boss and their reaction. If you boss flies off the handle if you don't do the job they want you need to ask them to be specific, if they are just pushing liability of any failure on to you by being vague then cover your butt, often vagueness is just "i don't know, you do it". Get them to review each step in the process before you go down a route that is hard to u turn from for time/budget/ logistics point.
Back when I still played World of Warcraft in the WotLK days, I had a full raid ready heal druid and was main healer in the biggest guild on the server. I went out of my way to farm the old level 60 Tier 1 shoulder pads and wore them to level 80 raids. They were terrible stat wise but I loved their look so I wore them. Nobody ever died because I couldn't heal them fast enough due to that smidge of power I was missing on my shoulders. But I looked sick in the celebration screenshots. They eventually added transmogrification to do that sort of thing officially without losing power, but I didn't care before that, I just wanted to look cool, healing power be damned. This was 2009 ish. How time flies...
One great thing about Discord that I'm really surprised that other platforms like teams just seem to not be able to incorporate is Screen Sharing at high Refresh rates. Like Honestly if a community driven free service like Discord can let you share screen at 60FPS, why can't a multi-billion dollar company like Microsoft make that possible for something like Teams.
@@jordanwardle11 okay well then what if you wanna show a Simulation or a CAD project or something like that ? Pretty sure there are departments in a lot of businesses that actually have to present things which require a lot of motion and therefore a higher framerate.
Smart guns don’t exist abroad you can simply bypass the watch one with a simple link bar because “smart guns abroad” simply add a electric safety to a existing gun that’s extremely easy to remove or disable this is the first that disconnects the firing pin from the trigger biofire is electronic fire that requires the circuits to actually drop the firing pin
I wish more social platforms utilized usernames the same way Steam does. Where you have your account's personal username, and then a Display Name over that that other people see you as in games/online. That makes it so you can change what people see you as at any time, for an unlimited amount of times, as well as having your name be anything you want (within the guidelines obviously). That way, people wouldn't have to worry about a name they wanna be known by being already taken
Discord and "user friendly" in one sentence, how is that even possible? Took them ages to add a sort feature for servers and it still keeps forgetting a ton of settings upon relogging while it has the quirk to just log you out every now and then, which typically happens rather sooner than later. How is not saving stuff even possible still in 2023? Meta left the chat.
@@basvanderwerff2725 think about it in gaussian terms. Twitter is so much larger than these other platforms that even a tiny fraction of a percent moving over is a large gain for the smaller platform relatively speaking. If discord wants to sell at some point they'll need to pump those numbers up
0:28 I have insight into this! #0001 was reserved for staff members pre-nitro and if you had it, it was taken away and if you tried to make multiple accounts to try and get it, you were banned and the username was blacklisted.
2:37:55 *"Don't forget - a **_negative outcome_** is still an outcome."* Luke told a story, on WAN Show, some weeks ago. If I recall correctly, the story was about a video he produced, in 2016. The _intended topic_ of the video: *How has automotive technology progressed, over the past 4 years?* According to Luke, he discovered that the technology _hadn't progressed._ It has _regressed_ - to become noticeably worse. As that was _not the intended topic,_ he abandoned production of the video. My question: Is the "negative outcome" guideline, a (relatively) recent one? I would have thought - information about _the regressive_ automotive technology - more useful to consumers. That tells us, "Don't buy this!". Or, "Recognize this for _what it is:_ shrinkflation! Paying a bit more, to get a bit less." I wonder if the manufacturers are relieved about Luke's decision. 🤔
@@lixnix2018 But why distribute it on Discord? Plenty of actual secure filesharing tools around. I don't think Discord wants to even handle files that big at all. Like ever. That would just pretty much be a precursor for privateering.

Displaying the @ symbol will make it easier for people to know/remember that, to tag a user, you just hit the @ symbol and start typing a name, and Discord will automatically generate a list of users with the letters you start typing. It's fine. The @ symbol is fine. I wouldn't care if ALL socials just used it and made it normal.
@@H94R if you read my comment again, you'll notice I stated that displaying the @ symbol reminds current users and lets new users know this. Besides, even UA-cam uses @usernames now! Can't believe this wasn't mentioned in the WAN show. It's not only on Twitter.
@@imjody No I read that, it’s just a lot of modern apps like snapchat for example have used @ tagging for years without having a visible @ in usernames, and everyone seems to find that pretty intuitive. I understand making things simple, but a simple prompt for the first time someone writes a message, detailing that you can tag users would suffice. I personally couldn’t care less either way as i don’t communicate much in a way that utilises tagging. But i guess if discord wants to become the everything app for communication then i can understand their thinking.
@@H94R Having the @ symbol in front of the username makes it a lot easier for people to understand that this is the username, and not the channel name. It differentiates the two; which is absolutely crucial.
Gun Jesus covered the smart gun and even he was impressed. The gun has potential and it's secure enough to where most people won't be able to take advantage of it because first of all how niche that type of gun would initially be. It's an ideal type of gun for home defense
Yea all love to Luke and Linus but they are clearly out of their depth when it comes to handgun knowledge. Not really their fault tho considering they are Canadians
I'm all for a smart safe for the bedside, maybe even a holster, but putting that tech into the firearm crosses my trust threshold for software. Not to mention how racist face recognition has historically been, I'd be very curious how this would work for a black family.
@@verifiedactualgamer racist is a bit, far fetched But yea Even with that, fingerprint sensor is the main thing. And from what little testing I saw it seemed fairly reliable. And that small chance of the gun not functioning as expected seems worth the safety of knowing that a kid in that house wouldn't use it by accident, or a criminal wouldn't hijack the gun. Until smart guns are a common thing, most criminals won't have a clue of it existing. Let alone hacking it somehow. It's just an overall safer option.
Joining in 2011 is not late. I started twitter shortly after Elon bought it. I'm about as old as Linus and started twitter just recently. First time the platform was any good. It still kind of sucks but it at least worth paying attention too now. Elons twitter is better.
I really don't understand Discord with this change. The fact you didn't have to come up with some stupid variation of the name you actually wanted was great. If they are going through with this the least the can do is allow us to use spaces in our username. That way we can give ourselves first and last names without it looking goofy.
Man, none of you actually understand the change. You can use whatever name you want as your display name. It's only what you log in with that needs to be unique.
My theory on Discord is that they might think about switching to matrix as protocol which uses the same style identifiers. So they switch identifiers to make an potential switch easier
Discord is trying to become "the new internet" or something. Personally I find the app extremely bloated/ flashy while simultaneously having too little customization (comparing to web browser or custom website). It's also inferior to a custom forum, hosted on own server. And inferior for voice comms.... no channel commander. It's only redeeming quality is resistance to ddos attacks

Discord pro really? You sick ltt

@@AarPlays yep xbox implemented it a few years back because basically every name that wasn't spam characters was taken lol
You couldn't though, you'd pick a name and them 4 digits of numbers would be added to the end of it. I prefer a unique name without digits on the end.
Hear me out… you can just add the numbers with whatever name you want yourself
@@kingsaltman you're not getting the point then
Would be so easy for discord to just continue support for both username types
1: choose a username
2: [optional] choose a handle
Case #1 (no handle)
Auto generate a unique handle through the old system.
Case #2 (with specific handle)
Try to use said handle
Case #3 (already registered and want the new system)
Change handle within the account

@@poochyenarulez ya they could, except most servers ban it and it just doesn’t work very well
I think Discord probably wants to move away from, hideout for people on Nintendo's most wanted list, into something more mainstream.
For Discord the number are great since then you can have any name you want, Blizzard uses something similar and it's great not having to fight over names and have the one you want
This change is just for the sake of change and it's really backwards
You can't have any name you want though. With this new system, I could have "poochyenarulez" but with the old system, I was forced to have a random 4 digit number added to the end.

I have a solution for that "UA-cam app not supporting stories" problem.

I use teams for work. And I just joined discord. I'm 27... It's hard man. Your screen is just so full of stuff.
I absolute hate that, tbh.
what does autodelete mean?

I'm only using Discord because it is so different and unique...

To be fair to BioFire they’re the first to design a smart gun from the ground up vs adding smart capabilities to an existing pistol.
You don’t even need to remember the numbers because you can pull up discord to share the username to add someone

I know my hearing isnt degrading abnormally but I didnt know if it was just me.
its not just you
It's definitely your hearing, I'm amazed that you have this problem, and just assume it cannot be you and that it has to be them
@@XsuperXrcrazyX the heck is wrong with u lmao, maybe the show is just quieter cuz they changed audio settings or some shit , its a totally reasonable assumption to make lol
aside from that, no I think its the same loudness as usual tbh ^^
@@XsuperXrcrazyX they legit asked if it was them or not. There was no assumption. Also they didn't much quiter but relative to other youtube videos the second half of their wan shows have been a little quiter, nowhere near upping by multiple ticks tho.
I'd argue its either OPs hearing, hardware, or being in a less silent environment.

Hey, a few quick comments about BioFire (from an American whose two favorite subjects are firearms and tech)
Yes, so-called "smart firearms" have been around for a while, the difference being is that those are almost always *conversion kits* for existing guns, whereas this one is an original design.
/rant over
Funny how Xbox went from usernames to username#0000 because how popular discord is lol
Or maybe because it's a better method of assigning user names.
10:50 "I've done all the talking." - Linus addressing Luke and asking a Discord related question. Luke immediately asking Linus what he would do... Back to staring at his phone.
The whole how do i read my boss's mind question depends entirely on your boss and their reaction.
If you boss flies off the handle if you don't do the job they want you need to ask them to be specific,
if they are just pushing liability of any failure on to you by being vague then cover your butt, often vagueness is just "i don't know, you do it".
How time flies...
objectively @Xx_PicklSlayer_xX is a kick ass user name
One great thing about Discord that I'm really surprised that other platforms like teams just seem to not be able to incorporate is Screen Sharing at high Refresh rates.
Like Honestly if a community driven free service like Discord can let you share screen at 60FPS, why can't a multi-billion dollar company like Microsoft make that possible for something like Teams.
Because 60fps is wasteful for a PowerPoint presentation. Teams is a business focused product while discord is a gaming focused product
@@jordanwardle11 okay well then what if you wanna show a Simulation or a CAD project or something like that ? Pretty sure there are departments in a lot of businesses that actually have to present things which require a lot of motion and therefore a higher framerate.
Smart guns don’t exist abroad you can simply bypass the watch one with a simple link bar because “smart guns abroad” simply add a electric safety to a existing gun that’s extremely easy to remove or disable this is the first that disconnects the firing pin from the trigger biofire is electronic fire that requires the circuits to actually drop the firing pin
wow great show, I watched from start to finish. Ty for tech stuff.. btw intel has new processor line
Hopefully the old software version will help! Glad you posted this despite the lower quality
Does anyone have the video of Jensen and Tom Peterson thing that Luke talked about?

I wish more social platforms utilized usernames the same way Steam does. Where you have your account's personal username, and then a Display Name over that that other people see you as in games/online. That makes it so you can change what people see you as at any time, for an unlimited amount of times, as well as having your name be anything you want (within the guidelines obviously). That way, people wouldn't have to worry about a name they wanna be known by being already taken
ICQ! Man, those we different times. Different but so great, the live drawing was mind blowing for the time.
Discord isn't trying to make it more user friendly for Discord users, they're trying to soak up the mass of users quitting Twitter...
Making user names easier to spoof so they can introduce check mark subscriptions.
twitter and discord are 2 very different things people leaving twitter gona have f all efect on discord
@@basvanderwerff2725 think about it in gaussian terms. Twitter is so much larger than these other platforms that even a tiny fraction of a percent moving over is a large gain for the smaller platform relatively speaking. If discord wants to sell at some point they'll need to pump those numbers up
Discord users are either gay anime virgins, gay anime minors, pedophiles, or based racists
0:28 I have insight into this!
#0001 was reserved for staff members pre-nitro and if you had it, it was taken away and if you tried to make multiple accounts to try and get it, you were banned and the username was blacklisted.
This was posted nitro, but, I knew many people who paid for nitro just to get 0001
2:37:55 *"Don't forget - a **_negative outcome_** is still an outcome."*
Luke told a story, on WAN Show, some weeks ago. If I recall correctly, the story was about a video he produced, in 2016. The _intended topic_ of the video: *How has automotive technology progressed, over the past 4 years?*
According to Luke, he discovered that the technology _hadn't progressed._ It has _regressed_ - to become noticeably worse.
Paying a bit more, to get a bit less."
I wonder if the manufacturers are relieved about Luke's decision. 🤔
Higher upload limit for companies would be awesome on discord.
Higher than 500MB? What are you uploading?
@@esaedvik we have some files and our own application is a bit over 500mb (also our mods are occasionally 500- 1,5gb )
@@lixnix2018 But why distribute it on Discord? Plenty of actual secure filesharing tools around. I don't think Discord wants to even handle files that big at all. Like ever. That would just pretty much be a precursor for privateering.
@@esaedvik oh, hello again, now i am absolutely - convinced - you are a discord staff member… 🤔
I hope we get just the outer screen of the pixel fold. I hate tall phones. Really small phones are hard to type on because of how narrow they are. The fact that they show Floatplane now looks like Discord is just hilarious.

Thrifting could be an awesome concept. I bought a Dual Sense Controller for $15 at auction, only problem was the L1 & L2 buttons didn’t work. Cracked it open and the ribbon cable was disconnected, 5 mins and it was good as new.
Displaying the @ symbol will make it easier for people to know/remember that, to tag a user, you just hit the @ symbol and start typing a name, and Discord will automatically generate a list of users with the letters you start typing. It's fine. The @ symbol is fine. I wouldn't care if ALL socials just used it and made it normal.
you can have the @ tagging functionality without showing an @ by default platform wide.
@@verifiedactualgamer racist is a bit, far fetched
But yea
Even with that, fingerprint sensor is the main thing.
3 hour wan show?! Dang I should have sold at 5 hours. Maybe I can break even if it comes back to 4 🤪

Joining in 2011 is not late. I started twitter shortly after Elon bought it. I'm about as old as Linus and started twitter just recently. First time the platform was any good. It still kind of sucks but it at least worth paying attention too now. Elons twitter is better.
bro i also have a lot of problems with understanding the discord interface lol
not 4hr stream tonight...
I need the 24 hr wan show
I really don't understand Discord with this change.
I'm unfamiliar with matrix. Can you explain more?
Discord is trying to become "the new internet" or something. Personally I find the app extremely bloated/ flashy while simultaneously having too little customization (comparing to web browser or custom website).
It's also inferior to a custom forum, hosted on own server. And inferior for voice comms.... no channel commander. It's only redeeming quality is resistance to ddos attacks
You should acc do a Tech Tips vid on first *what* Discord is, and secondly *how on earth to use it* !
Only 3 hour wan ? What will I do to fill my weekend
