      I agree. Unfortunately many tv comercials use a similar type of background sound (not really music).
      Why am I responding to this topic? It is not to denegrate Mark's otherwise outstanding presentation.
      I wanted to express my regret and utter frustration that I wasn't able to listen to his whole presentation. The high volume level of the background noise beginning 20 sconds into the presntation was to me, very annoying and distracting. It was hard to hear what he was saying. There was no reason for the background sound to compete with or dominate his voice. Regrettably I had to stop watching the video.
      Mark has exceptional speaking skills and seems to be a very good teacher, on screen personality and promoter. It is just my personal opinion that I would have enjoyed listening to his whole presentation if there was minimal or no background sound at all.
      This very good video is an example of what I am tqlking about. ua-cam.com/video/QxkWS-mkUfE/v-deo.html
      A lower background sound level would at least have made it possible for me to comfortably listen to the whole disertation.

    Mark. I bought the Asus c302 chromebook and at first use I fell in love. But literally the second day I had it it would restart by itself and I would lose my progress on office 365 word app. Speakers would crackle on mute and I bought a USB type c to hdmi adapter and did not work. Also further inspecting it I saw that the left side of the keyboard was risen slightly. I was very disoriented with all these flaws. I had to return it.. really thinking on going back to windows. Please I need your advice. What should I do??

    • @Promevo
      @Promevo  6 років тому

      Hey there Einer - it sounds like that was just a bad unit you got there. Truly sorry to hear. Did you try contacting ASUS or the original point of purchase? I would have recommended trying to exchange it for a working model as those sound like flaws in a specific device and aren't indicative of my experience here (I've still got mine in near perfect order). Are you outside of your return period?

      @@Promevo hey mark. Thnx for replying so fast. I have returned it already. Waiting for full refund since they said they dont do exchanges. I would have to purchase it again. • @Promevo

      Well, ASUS is about to put out a refresh to the C302 called the C434 - however, I might also direct you towards some of Acer's line too - the Spin 13 is one of the best items on the market right now. That said, if you have specific Windows needs (like certain applications that need to be installed), then that MAY be a better option, of course. Happy to help guide you on the Chrome journey though!

    What about opening PDF files, Emailing docs from google drive, and printer support ?

    • @Promevo
      @Promevo  7 років тому +1

      Hey Jim! We actually cover the printer support in this video - you have a few options. You can print through Google's Cloud Print service wirelessly or, you can connect via USB to printers to print as well.
      Emailing docs from Google Drive is really easy. If you just want to share it to others for collaboration, you simply click the share button in the upper right hand corner, give their email address (or if you just want to send a link to more people, click the enable link sharing button) and you're all set. However, if you want to actually export a file, go to the File menu in the document you'd like to export, and click 'download as' - it'll give you options for what kind of file you'd like to create there.
      Drive also has PDF support, so it can open those PDFs no problem. Hope this helps.

    What was that bluetooth speaker? I m looking for one for my Asus C302 Flip

    • @Promevo
      @Promevo  6 років тому

      I believe in this video, we only show the Google Home, which does let you play music through it - but isn't actually a bluetooth device, and requires wifi in order to operate properly. If you believe this answer is incorrect, respond with a time code so I can find the clip and make sure I answered properly.
      If you're ultimately just asking for a personal reference for a bluetooth speaker, I have had a "Big Jambox" from Jawbone for the last 5-6 years and it's been pretty wonderful. The sound quality over all is pretty good for it, it's incredibly loud, and years later still holds a great charge.

    Questions: What is the durability of the Crome books? I have children who it seems have a mission to break stuff. Can a Crome book withstand the stress of being tossed into a backpack with other actual books and plopped on the floor? I’m talking about student life between 2nd - 12th grade. Would I need to buy added protection for it like I would for a tablet (meaning some kind of case?)

    • @Promevo

      I would recommend a case to be extra safe - HOWEVER, I highly recommend searching for Education model chromebooks as they're often designed for additional durability for exactly the reasons you've mentioned!

      I don’t give my kids an allowance. There’s no reason to pay them for doing what their supposed to anyway. They only get rewards based on their grades at school. Better effort, better prize.
      In this specific case
      we didn’t buy it. My husband won it at his annual Christmas party. My son uses it to type out book reports and my daughter uses it for her reading programs. Otherwise it’s a nice paperweight. We don’t use it for anything else.

      There are disk drives on chromebooks.
      You cannot install a Windows application on a Chromebook as the OS can't open them. You can access MS Office and their products through Microsoft 365 and their other app versions, but I would recommend you look into Google's own suite of products like Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides which are free and included with all Chrome devices.

    What Chromebooks currently come with a stylus? .....and which do you recommend out of those? Always been a Windows user but I currently have a Dell 3180 that I picked up for very little. Love it and looking to move up but don't want to spend as much as a Pixel cost. Btw, I bought my mom a Toshiba chromebook about 3 years ago because she constantly got viruses in Windows and she loves it. The backlit keyboard was great on those!

      I'd probably point you towards the Acer Spin 11 if you're looking for a budget model - otherwise, the Samsung Chromebook Plus has one too! The Acer's model is much more like a traditional pencil, where as the Samsung's is much thinner and reminiscent of what they might make for their Note phones. Hope this helps!

    What would you recommend as budget option for under 300?

      If the Acer R13 is available - I would tell you to RUN RUN RUN and get that baby. I love mine. It's been my most used device. Can't say enough nice things about it - I'd assume prices should have/will drop based upon the announcement of the new Acer models for 2018 recently.

      Are you asking or trying to be funny? We've been pretty transparent repeatedly on our channel about the inability to do those things. I've been clear before that my Chromebook gets used for EVERYTHING aside from editing my content for this channel. If you were just trying to be funny, then 'hahaha!'

      My comment was seemingly a joke when I said "Yes chromebooks are awesome!!!!! " But the point I was trying to make was serious. I mean really, What is the purpose of spending $1,000+ To get a Mac or Windows Pc for doing things like Photoshop, Music production, Live streaming, Video Editing Web browsing etc and then spending another $200 - $400 On a Chromebook When A Chromebook can pretty much only do what you can do In a web browser when you have access to a web browser. So many things like Traveling for example, is made harder with 2 laptops, You need to spend more money for a device that there is no place for them. There is simply no reason to have 2 computers. That is what I Think And my opinion on chromebooks.
      (Ok Admittedly, Maybe I am not the target audience for these things but still though)

      I understand your point - but I can't imagine anyone needing to lug two devices with them. If I was planning to go out and produce content, I probably wouldn't drag a chromebook AND another laptop - that seems like I'd be creating a problem that doesn't exist simply to have a problem. As someone who professionally produces content all over the country, I have yet to be in your described predicament. I think i've made it clear here before that we are very obviously aware about the Chrome OS's inability to let me create freely, the way a full fledged computer rig would...but that's not the point. These can be fairly productive, while also being designed to easily consume media at a very low cost. I can't legitimately compare a $1000+ machine to a $300 computer. Would you compare a tablet to a Mac? Probably not - but I'd argue that a tablet owner and a Chromebook owner might not be so dissimilar.

    I’m curious, if someone sends you a compressed file like .zip or .rar, can you open extract it in chrome os?
