You're right. You can tell he's being genuine about it and that it's a true passion. It's a shame so little people get to promote or follow Chromebooks' releases and upgrades... It's just so promising, and efficient already! 👀

Next, perhaps a breakdown by price group. Say up to $250, $250 to $400; $400 to $650, $650 and up. Price is always gonna be the #1 differentiator. The groups should allow for enough entries in each group, not necessarily exact same incremental group value. Also, what not to buy; for exampe a cheap junk computer is just trouble. Thanks for the video. By the way the C302 is the greatest Chromie ever made. I love my new Go, but the C302 was a masterpiece esp. for the $$. Thanks again.

Once we learn to type proper, backlight won’t matter in a keyboard.

I just bought an Asus chromebook with a backlit keyboard, and because the keys are aluminum colour and the light is pale, I can't see the letters on the keys in dimmer light, e.g. my living room in the evening with normal lamps on. I can type without looking most of the time, but it's mildly annoying.

@@gsreads Backlighting does look cool, and I do most of my typing on a mechanical keyboard or att my place of work, a keyboard with the same size keys but membrane. Chromebook doesn't have the correct keyboard layout for us who have typed for decades. Also, backlighting looks cool.

For a 10:27 video, this is actually very comprehensive in what you'd need to consider if you need a chromebook or not. Currently pondering on whether going for a chromebook or a full-on laptop and this video helped me realize that at my current computer and productivity needs, a chromebook would suffice. Just thinking about whether or not I should consider future-proofing and maybe think about other stuff I could do. But as it stands, this video helped me find the answer whether a chromebook fits me. Thanks!

With 45 years of computing technology under my belt, I've decided that, except for lightroom, Chrome OS can handle my work. I ordered a fine refurb with plenty of horsepower and storage. Then I dug around in youtube to find the best advice with the least glitz and malarkey so I'm ready when it arrives. So far, hands down, this guy on Chromebook Unboxed, is THE most pleasant to watch and THE best presenter and smartest explainer.

As someone with a Gaming PC at my desk. I’ve always had a chrome book in my backpack for 5years now through College for portability+excellent battery life. Any student who’s major only requires several Essays,Thesis/Dissertation, .pdf documents, etc. I highly recommend a mid-range Chromebook. You Engineering/Art students already know to get a Windows/Apple laptop so don’t bother with a chromebook ya’ll aren’t Google’s demographic.

This is another good video. I fail to understand, though, why folks always make it appear that if you buy a Chromebook, even a good one and it somehow has to become your ONLY computer? Why not approach it by saying you can continue to use your MacBook Pro and/or Windows machine for those things that they do best and spend the rest of the time with a nice Chromebook? That's what I do. I'm retired so about 80% of my time is on my Pixelbook, but the other times (Fusion 360, for 3D printing, for example), I just grab my MacBook Pro., a 2015 model with Parallels that's still working great. Why not?

Just received my ASUS C434 today and as a lifelong Windows fan, I just love the simplicity of Chrome OS. Chrome Unboxed informed my purchasing decision on this one. I was tempted to go for the C433 but the cheapness highlighted on this channel persuaded me to wait for the C434 to drop in price. Got it for £150 off. If I were into video creation, having to upload everything to be able to edit it would hurt me because my provider stinks on upload speeds. Given what you know, shoot from the hip, I've been using HP14 (11") for years now. Has trackpad issues that drive me crazy. I like a clacky keyboard; I'm a preacher so I write a lot. I need a webcam and appreciate decent speakers, and I DO feel like I want an HDMI slot, too. I like a lot of access points, including a speaker jack. Suggestions? I usually have many windows open at the same time, cross-referencing, etc. No gaming, I do watch videos in spare time. Mostly writing, reading, researching. Thanks. I type a lot (emails, google docs, slides) so for me the most important aspect from my chromebook is to actually SEE the largest possible portion my work on the screen - consider all the toolbars, bookmarkbar, ruler etc which reduce the actual, "netto" interface surface. Thus for me the key is the 3:2 screen format - (let me note that many of the optional tool bars I have already moved to the right and left side of the screen). Any other suggestions such "productivity work arounds" you might have? Zoltan, from Budapest, Hungary

Good track pad, keyboard Backlight, and strong WiFi connection is a must. I have UA-cam Tv and might watch from the chromebook from time to time. So I sent the question in another video but I am having a hard time choosing between the pixel book go and the Asus C434. I see in this review you had them side by side. I have owned Cromebook in the past. I am thinking of getting one again now that they have improved over the years. My only complaint with Chromebook is the lower case letters on the key caps. I know, that sounds stupid or petty, but that's me. Because I never learned to touch type. I am a hunt-and-peck typist. And the lower case letters are not as easy to distinguish as upper case. No one else uses lower case keys, why Google?

Im a designer and I use a $2,500 2018 macbook pro. I spend 98% of my time in google chrome. I even use Figma as a design tool which is better than sketch and illustrator and it runs 100% in a browser... :O

Most comon people don't care about all those questions. The first point is the most important, I think: you can basically do all those common things in a browser. But then you need to show all those apps where they exist. My parents don't care what EMail app or writer or spread sheet it is - they just want to use these kind of apps for working. So, it would be nice if you could offer a web page (on chromeunboxed) with all those common apps that run in the chrome browser. I know some of them but just found them by accident or by you mentioning it. So go starting a "Chrome Apps Site" where all people without any computer knowledge can just click an app to start being productive.

do you think Chromebooks are any good for editing for youtube?

I feel like most people that do buy Chromebooks are those that look for cheap alternatives to a windows laptop, if that's the case then look for n4200, 4gb ram and 64gb of storage, screen size and resolution of your choice and you'll be ready to go with a good Chromebook. I believe the acer Chromebook 15 fits that, big screen, n4200, 4gb ram, 64gb storage, aluminum chassis, full jd screen and front facing speakers

I need a Chromebook with a stylus. And found affordable one will be Samsung plus v2 or Samsung pro . But here in India it's not on sale. Is there anyway to buy it without spending too much money on shipping?

I got a great Dell 14" 2 in 1, it's a great piece of equipment I got for $430. Problem is there are so many programs that aren't compatible with chrome OS it is getting frustrating. So I suggest anyone looking, think really hard about his first question. I will be buying a windows device soon.

Bill E Dee so I would be looking to use Facebook, Facebook messenger, gmail, yahoo mail, twitter, google docs, word, banking sites, UA-cam tv, UA-cam. Web browsing usually with google, no gaming or designing programs. Need to have a strong WiFi connection too. Would chromebook be a good choice in your opinion after hearing that?
