    Who is watching this garbage show, bah. Why couldn’t they take another franchise and shit on that and leave Star Trek alone

    I think Picard season 3 was able to keep the pace of a season long story and still provide new amazing things each episode.

    Slug-o-Cola also had a big spot on Lower Decks S4 E6 when Boimler watches Ferengi TV 😉

    Thank you for you breakdown and comments, I agree with you all the way.

    I don't particularly like the hand waving description of "filler episode" for this one, to me this was a story episode that did some direct character development rather than leaving things to short quips and innuendo.

    I will never understand why some people are driven to Yuk on other peoples Yum. If you really dislike the series then stop watching and go find something that gives you joy.

      And the same people will invade that and subvert it to push whatever political angle they desire. You more than likely lean in that direction, that isn't slap at you. The "creatives" have lost their ability to check their bias and try to see things from a different point of view. That way when they do show that other perspective they can atleast be honest about it opposed to going full parody. Everything these days is portrayed as black and white, when next to nothing in life is. I mean when an executive producer says "Haberts said one of the antagonist groups on "Star Trek: Discovery" is an extremist Klingon sect, whose rallying cry, "Remain Klingon," the show made intentionally similar to Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan." That isn't exactly likely to keep things cordial. I don't expect you to get me at all here, but thought I'd try to explain a part of the issue. And honestly, ST can't afford this divide.

    I liked episode 3. I don't like all the action. I like more story and less action.

      This was my favorite so far too. It's very Trek for the crew to be challenged and forced to demonstrate their wisdom and compassion.

    I also felt this was a meh episode. Filler. And yeah I’m not inspired by Adira. Grey is a more interesting character. And Tilly is irreplaceable! This episode felt like there were too many stories competing for attention. Adira and Grey, Tilly and the new Number One, Micheal and Book again, and Dr Culper and channeling the Trill. And Sara and the marriage announcement

    It's always a bad idea to find a stone quarry for an alien planet. I got old Doctor Who vibes and its just cheap. Also, yes to all you said about Tal (grey) and Adira, except I didn't like them from the start.

    Last year I heard the rumors that Discovery would be going episodic like SNW, yet the episodes are still all part of a season long story. SNW works better as with single episodes and two part episodes, the stories move along much faster (with more suspense) without all the lengthy filler conversation episodes to pad out an hour. That said, some parts of this episode worked well, the Trill world and Culver changing personalities was fun, where Michael was being tested by the ancient Trill, with the battle of the beasts, and the newly demoted Commander interviewing the bridge crew for 30 seconds each with Tilly blowing up at the end was interesting. Saru's story is mostly melodrama and I cared less for that. I like Saru's stories some of the time.

    If this episode was a drinking game, you would pass out if the secret word was “filler episode”.

    They needed to do more with Saru and less of Trill planet. It would have been cool to see that side of Starfleet being re-built and perhaps a a sub plot that would have come into play later.

    This episode sucked so bad, Tilly is Shit...... Riker would've snapped her back so hard she'd feel like 1st year cadet again after chewing the XO like that. On par with the rest of the series not being good Trek. Michael introducing the crew, no one knows who the hell they are. All space scenes looked cartoonish, this is just a bad bad show and I'm glad it's ending.

      This must be the most "Woke" show in history. The question should not be, "Why did the show get cancelled after only five seasons?" The question should be, "Why was it renewed for a second season?" Perfect example for Get Woke, Go Broke.

      So… you just copy and paste your comments about how “wOkE 🥴” the show is? Watch it or don’t. It’s not that hard. IDIC. Maybe you should watch more Trek… and pay attention this time! Looks like you’ve missed a few lessons… 🤦‍♂️ Fake fans complain about “wokeism”. And probably can’t even articulate what you mean by that word, other than just “librule garbage 🥴” Take a moment and assess why you’re so bitter about everything you simply don’t understand. And like I said… Go back, start at the beginning and watch more Trek. Try to really observe the lessons… Live long, and prosper, my friend. 🖖

    I don't think that the STO Tzenkethi are considered cannon. They have also appeared in an IDW Star Trek comic and look different than they do in STO. I wonder if we will actually see a member of the Tzenkethi race in an upcoming episode?

  • @kanebunce3791

    Actually, the developers of Star Trek Online have now admitted it is its own alternate universe. They done that to avoid having to continuously retcon plot elements of the game to keep up with Prime Universe canon. In particular, the way Star Trek: Picard retired the Enterprise-F before it was even built in the game would have otherwise required massive changes since that ship plays many major roles in the game. So they made the right choice to make the game its own thing.

    Sorry, what?? Adira is no longer Adira Tal? When did that happen?

    • @WhatDidIMiss
      @WhatDidIMiss  5 місяців тому +1

      Didn't it get removed? If not, I don't remember the symbiote being referenced. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought they went through some ceremony to remove the symbiote.

    • @ChristCordogan
      @ChristCordogan 5 місяців тому

      The one ceremony on Trill was to “fix” the connection between Adira and Tal. After, Adira was able to connect with all of the previous hosts they were able to provide the coordinates to Star Fleet HQ.

    • @Stress-Free-K
      @Stress-Free-K 5 місяців тому

      @@ChristCordogan This does bring up a good point. Why wasn't Tal at least referenced. Tal could have have helped Adira and Gray realize their journey together has changed but need not be severed. They could have bathed in that milky pond to add more to depth to their interactions. Zora and Tal should also work together to figure things out. Adira has potential they just need challenge them more.

    I thought the flying dragons were native to trill. But of course they had to go there. A 900 years dead trill had the info. Where else would they go to get it?

    I would love to just quickly challenge anyone to name 5 of the bridge crew ? how many bridge crew members are there? why We just don't care who they are? and Why we have to endure what they bring to a story that if they are not crying about being in space, away from their friends /family and thought that signing up for the federations is like "isn't this a cruise through the Caribbean on a all expenses paid Christmas special? What a pile of Sh*t.
