Hello Sifu Sung Wah! I suggest use the rule of thumb when adjusting the Qianjin. Each person has different length of thumbs. Use the length of the thumb from the top where the square turns to the round pole. Om Mani Pad Me Hum! ETN...
How many types of Ehru? Or it is same size or model How many variation of Ehru ? Some looks different and some are different could you please where could I find this Traditional instrument? how could I get this instrument? What the price range of this Ehru?
Great video, the only thing i don't agree with is the height to tie the qianjin, i remembered reading somewhere that the optimal height is 39cm from the 码, but i guess it doesn't affect much
Hi! I got an erhu and is something like 1-4-1. And I notice only on the inner string that the "upbow" (idk how to call them on erhu lol) is like 30 cents lower than the "downbow". Only on the open string, fingerings are equal. It is Qinjin fault right?
Yes exactly the Qianjin's fault. There is not enough tension at the part where the qianjin is pulling the strings. Either its tied too loosely, too little rounds over the strings or it has worn out. Just retie it.
@@EasonMusic Thanks for the fast response! I was going to retie today before practicing. On this case, more qianjin would be better pulling the string or with 5 on the center is fine?
THNX! I tryed 3-5-3 but it was still off. the width was maybe to large. I retied it to 2-7-2 and the width of a little less than my thumb and now the D strings is equal on up and down bow
@@EasonMusic And the tone is much more responsive than before! The bow feels a little harder, like the stick have less room but everything have more sense now. Thanks!

Yes we will!
Eason Music thank you ^ ^
I have a problem- what to do when the erhu strings kept separating when Im pressing it???
Xie Xie. Thank you. Very very much.
Our pleasure!
Can I use the new braided fishing line that’s out to make my Qianjin ? Our stores here don’t carry Qianjin string. 🤔
I'm not sure of that. But it sounds better than anything other than the real thing.

Daniel H. Hi there! Thank you for the feedback. The qianjin is adjustable according to each individual player to better suit their playing.
How do I tie a qianjin on a Jinghu?
Thank you for your effort, SW :-)
Thank you so much for your video! it helps me alot.
What material is the qianjin made of? Is it possible to replace it with any other type of string?
Jair Rodriguez its made of cotton. You may use silk strings too. Any strings is alright, but it will alter the sound of the Erhu.
what do you think of the wooden qianjin that has tuners on it?
Very easy to understand, thank you!
