The Cycladic island of Ios will surprise you with several charming beaches, mostly with golden sand and a gradual entrance to the sea, some of which are untouched and completely hidden from the ordinary visitor. The most sought-after beach and resort is Mylopotas. One of the most beautiful beaches is Maganari in the south of the island. The ruins of the medieval fortress of Paleokastro tower over Agia Theodoti beach. In the peaceful northern part of the island is the tomb of Homer. You can't miss the capital Chora (Ios) for its unique and lively atmosphere. The winding, car-free streets invite you to take pleasant walks in the day and evening or to relax in one of the local tavernas. There are plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. The most beautiful sunsets can be seen from the two peaks with the churches of Panagia Gremniotissa or Agii Anargyri. There are several windmills at the top of the town and one of the best tavernas on the island "The Mills". Nearby is the amphitheatre, where theatre performances and concerts are held in the summer months.

The Nest was our favourite taverna in Ios and George (in the red top) was so friendly
Next time, try "The Mills", which is nearby. For us, definitely the best of the tavernas we visited on Ios. 👍

Hi. Very little per year. 😉 Mostly in Greece. I estimate 5-10 km a day at most. Back home in the Czech Republic, I sit at the computer all year and edit videos shot in Greece. Last summer I lost 12 kg in 3 months while filming. Now it's back... 😄
@@robertpolasek have always been put off Ios by it's reputation as a party island, Must say if it is as quiet as this looks in june we will have to reconsider and add it to out list for next year. looks stunning.

A couple of years ago I downloaded a short video of Ios on your site, but when I had a look at it recently I found that the video file was corrupt and after the first few minutes it kept freezing and remaining frozen. I tried various ways of solving this then I had the idea of using VLC to copy the file in the hope I could just edit out the freezing parts. In fact when I looked at the VLC copy it just had a couple of brief hardly noticeable freezes then carried on normally. It is actually one of my favourites from your site! I know this one is a much longer video of Ios but the short one is so beautiful visually and musically that I think it should be still available!
You are probably thinking of the video made by his son Tomáš Polášek and posted on his UA-cam channel. 🙂 I have a video of Ios from 2022. There are both videos on our website www.fototravel.info.

Красивые фильмы у вас, я был в малом количестве стран, 10 примерно,Грецию люблю всей душой, а Турцию изучил за много поездок на половину где-то, сейчас у нас война и выехать нельзя, страшная коррупция в стране, у кого деньги есть давно выехали, и все чиновники до вторжения вывезли своих сыновей, справедливости видимо не существует, для кого-то доход , для простых людей страдания
