Little upset about halq being banned as I can't scythe lock anymore consistently.
It's nice to see banlist adjustments for Turn 2. Turn 1 is really an advantage if you can make a strong board.
Not nearly enough. Building a turn 1 deck and hoping the coinflip goes well is still better than running a bunch of mid turn 2 cards

I really liked halq being in my blue eyes deck. I’ve hardly EVER, ran into halq in ranked. Maybe once every 15x. Back when I first played, I ran into the card a lot but now hardly ever. Blue eyes is already hard as it is to make it to diamond, even platinum for sum, without fully slapping a meta engine or entire deck and just throwin in a blue-eyes or 2 and callin it a blue-eyes deck. Really think there’s plenty of other cards they should’ve banned other than halq.

I think that the Adventurer hit was just as good as the Halq ban. I hate that both these cards were so splashable and enabled 1 card combos into a +3 with omni negates
I like it, but think the Gryphon needs to go. Having Dracoback to bounce floodgates is great for the meta :)

It will still be played unfortunately. Before it was 2 Enchantress, 2 Rites, and 1 Foolish Burial to get the engine going. Now it will go from 5 starters to 4, which is still okay because an Omni is just worth it. Gryphon is the problem card.
Halq wasn’t even that bad. Halq needs to stay limited to be honesty. Arodon should be banned. I hate how Konami never just ban the actual issue but they ban something that is needed to make a deck playable or even competing but they don’t actually touch real issues. They don’t touch hero’s and other archetypes cause people like to you use but once you get dark lawed and arch Angeled the same turn you’ll see what I’m talking about. Angel prevents special summoning and dark law banishes. The only out is card effects and hopefully you can link it away but there’s not a lot of link ones unless you wanted to run kuribo but that’s dumb
Halq ban and Adventurer limit mean they want you to buy new packs. This hit reduces power level so many deck and the one that don't really care are newer cards like Branded or Swordsoul.
The turn two cards going --- very fittingly --- to TWO
Raigeki and every turn 2 card should be unlimited. With the omni-negate boards getting put up now, Konami really can't do enough.

Wow I am truely shocked Konami is listening to the feed back. I frankly was stunned to see halq get hit but, I am definitely happy it did. Also I glad to see adventure and some floodgates get hit though they did not hit adventure quite how I wanted because I wanted gryphon rider hit and I would have liked to seen floodgates hit harder but, still it a very solid list none the less and I am glad to see it trying to strengthen going second.
Adventure hasn't been out long enough to completely kill it. Especially since it came out already restricted.

People were playing Halqadon just as much, and people were screaming about it even more often, during and immediately after the DC.
There was a Ban List update at *that* point, ergo Konami is *lying* about this being a matter of responding to player feedback and/or balance.
Every single hit has the proximate effect of encouraging more people to buy/play the Hot New Thing.
Why ANYONE would believe a company with Konami’s track record cares about something like game balance utterly mystifies me.
If they cared about that, they wouldn’t release archetypes that are horribly, worst-of-the-lot imbalanced in Best of 1 into the MD cardpool.
Edit: As I said a month ago, Konami’s Ban List updates are *transparently* nothing but a prod in the hindquarters for the playerbase. Forcing everyone to keep acquiring new cards, by creating an artificial 1-Top-Tier 1-Deck Meta.
Hitting Swordsoul *again* while Semi-Limiting a Branded Spell that is searchable in *multiple* ways is a non-hit to Despia. Made because Konami thinks we’re all such morons, their “masterfully Machiavellian moves” are completely beyond our understanding.
Said it before, will say it again, Branded-D will continue to be buttressed by Konami’s BS, no matter that facing a Branded-D deck is a more joyless experience than sitting across from a Drytron pilot w/ a fist full of Fairies.
Until it’s time for the next major meta-relevant bundle, then Komoney will “Respond to widespread player concerns,” and hammer it to push up the next Top Tier 1 deck.
It's honestly impressive how quick Konami responds to feedback in Master Duel.

I originally thought I wanted aurodan banned more.
But halc just offers too much universal utility. It does allow for the aurodan combo. But it also gives you a free summon from the deck which is great by itself. But it also lets to link climb to unicorn and then access code.
So by hitting halc your hitting multiple lines of play that are popular as opposed to just one.
And as he said, you’re not having to give people back as many UR crafting points.
I agree. Auroradon will see much less play because of this change. Halq still would have been rampant as a play extender without auroradon. Its by far the better hit in my opinion.
If the argument is that it slows down too many decks compared to some others that didn't use halq, I would say what your'e really making is an argument to hit those other decks that don't need halq to run wild, not a good excuse to keep a broken extender in.

I just think they should have semi limited more of the flood gate traps. Like summon limit.
I personally like them to all be at 1. You can have one put when it’s gone it’s gone. Plus it’s not easy to draw. That way one deck can’t abuse 3 of the same or eldlich can’t just stuff all of them in and draw at least 2

Probably the UR crafting points, since honestly Halq > unicorn > accesscode isn't really that big a deal since going into accesscode means you are going for game anyway. The fact that Tomahawk and Auroradon are still in the game is what gets me. Those cards are more worthy of a ban than Halq at this point, but maybe they have something planned for later.
Well... It does seem the principal manager of the game has recently changed. A banlist out of nowhere and support cards of top tier decks becoming UR (branded lost and tri-brigade mercourier I'm looking at you) indicates to me that moving forward this game will be more focused on giving the edge to newly released decks.
This is a great banlist that boost turn 2, shows love to older decks, and hits the adventure engine.
Incredibly happy to see the Turn 2 Boost along with all of the older decks getting some help, Master Duel is looking like it may have the healthiest meta out of the OCG, TCG, and it come Sept 30th. Maybe the TCG will take some cues from it, that would be great. Still want to see some love to Speedroids by having Terrortop come up from 1 to 2 or 3

Auroradon would've been the correct hit. Sky strikers are dead now and I just finished the deck. I'm not mad about enchantress it makes the engine slightly less consistent.

Okay now THIS banlist I can get behind. A little sad about Halq being banned over Auroradon especially before PUNKs have fully released but it is a problem card so I get it. I didnt see the vid the other day about you being looped by Trishula though and your reaction to it being brought to semi was hilarious to me. I had a very similar reaction when they unlimited it in the TCG. I honestly thought they lost their minds with that however so few people actually attempt to do anything with him that it's pretty obvious that it isn't a massive deal.. yet
I saw Dkayed get looped, and I’m honestly not sure what you can do with two Trishula’s that is so much worse than what that one did.
@@pretends2know I just went back and watched it. As far as I can tell, you could maybe just make it where you can hard summon 2 of them and then loop 2, essentially just doing the same thing but maybe a little faster.
Banning Needlefibre doesn't stop Auoradon Level 7 spam wombus combus plus infinity decks, but it does hinder them.
I've been saying for a while that Master Duel would be super easy to have a monthly banlist rotation.
In OCG and TCG they have to wait for major events, wait for stats to slowly roll in. MD they have the usage stats and win rates of cards at any rank. All they have to do is toggle a few cards and boom that's an update.
Keeps players more invested, keeps the game micro balanced, it's a win-win. I'd love for them to keep the momentum.
Finally some leeway with my Orcust deck, though I never put dpe in there, or adventure, but I might try adventure engine for some better consistency

No your sky striker deck is now a real controll deck. I was so tired of these controll decks pushing for ridiculous amount of dmg for no good reason.

After the halqi ban only speedroid deck can used Auroradon natively without really on halqi. It is good hits to be honest at least did not hurt speedroid deck that much and can go Auroradon combo
Don't worry striker can now play a spellbook engine both for draw power and jowgen access, also you can still climb into accesscode with the charmers provided you have a spellcaster in grave already(veiler and blue boi most likely).
Also in the future we will have linkage, the runnick engine, and potentially have some of our cards free as the ocg just unlimited widow anchor.
@@xenonim speedroid is just about the only machine deck that CANT play auroradon, the link 2 locks you into synchros and its effect is just too good to pass up. The actual best shells for auroradon now are rank 7 turbo since tomahawk is still legal and scraps that do that with just 1 recycler can make auroradon and send 001 to grave.

I mean I'm glad they are slightly unrestricting Trickstars but they really need all the help. Trickstar Reincarnation is still at 1, will probably always stay at one because of how it combos with Droll and Lock Bird but yeah, give Trickstars more buffs please.
I main D/D/D this is great for me, I expect Eldlich and Ancient Warriors will rise back into relevance quite heavily, going to be an interesting weekend!

Low key, Auroradon should've been banned instead. Halq has a lot of usage outside of the infamous halqdon combo. Heck, sky strikers were never too strong to begin with, and now they got hit for no reason. And I'm not saying this because I have 2 auroradons that I don't know what to do with anymore.
You can build deskbots and use Auroradon in that it's a relatively cheap deck

I'm surprised that you got samurai barrier hand loop I mean I been doing it in psp games but I didn't think someone can pull of that combo in master duel I mean all you need is 1 Shien Squire and 2 Kizan + Brionac the ice barrier on field and any six samurai and a gate that has infinite counter but it hard to pull of in master duel
I’m annoyed that they hit halq instead of auroradon, halq helps a lot of rogue decks without even going into token combos. I guess I’ll just have to figure another way to combo off my megalith deck

16:51 To be fair, the no ban list tournament has a problem with the way Konami set up the banned cards economy. It’d be hella expensive to actually build a fully optimized no ban list tournament deck. I mean... I’m not inclined to spend 120 UR CP on 3x Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity, Painful Choice, and Mystic Mine when the reward for winning with those cards is very small. And unless breaking those cards down gives a full refund when I’m done with them, the incentive just isn’t that strong.
Can someone explain Union Carrier? I pulled this card when I first started master duel and I vaguely remember seeing it abused.. can it be a halq replacement? I am currently not using halq+auro in my swordsoul and branded despia decks.
Auroradon would have been a better ban tbh, Halq is like the golden Link card that combines Synchros and Link summoning because of its secondary effect
Yes. That's why Needle fiber should've stayed limited and the phantom Link monster banned. For example, Needle fiber ban = Blue-Eyes bricking once again, even with the new support that they finally released to Master Duel.
Golden link card? Climbs into Accesscode can go into a shooting riser that sends fairy tail snow to the GY black rose moonlight dragon to send a card to the hand and think of all the tuners he got banned.

The problem was that everyone was using it the same way with Deskbot and if they were less greedy they would take the L with jet synchron
Just a reminder galaxy tomahawk still exist and with pankatrops at 2, you might going to see some more tenyi lv 7 engine splashed to make exact same board via auroradon. Sure it is harder but auroradon combo still not dead yet and might terrorize you still.
Also scraps can still make auroradon with just recycler(and you have up to 12) all while putting a 001 in grave. The only drawback is you have to play one more garnet in fridge boi.

Halq still allows you to one card scythe lock plus barrone, it also allows any deck that summons it to make accesscode with selene and it gives dragon link access to red rose which allows them to dump snow with riser, make barrone and have an extra body

The funny thing is that reincarnation is still at 1..🤔
Now the go 2nd deck even stronger with 2 raigeki and 2 pankratops. Board breaker deck even deadly after the ban. This mean if your go 1st their no guarantee your can win if your fight against board breaker. 1 once you're board have break your chance to come back is almost 0% due your have already used all the resources to make boss monster. This means must have back up plan if board been wipe out by board breaker card such duster, raigeki, Nibiru, storm, evenly match and dark holes.
What card can I use instead of halq to make arroradon? I just used all my gems and crafting materials to make a adv tenyi deck not even 3 weeks ago and now it seems like it will become useless :(
Pendulum Magician getting both nerf and buff. Buff from lossening limits on Harmonizing Magician and Double Iris Magician. Nerf from banning Halq; They weren't even using Auroradon

I just wish Auroradon was limited to begin with so it can be banned instead of halq...because obviously they didn't want to give back 90 UR CP, I bet they're aware Auro is the bigger problem...I've negated halq HUNDREDS of times and they still manage to pull off Auroradon and I lose...on the other hand, decks that just use it to link climb and manage to wipe their board with accesscode to simplify the game state or smth deserve it so that they can have a chance...like, what is my win con for Sky strikers now? direct with hayate 6 rounds in a roll?...guess my opponents will be agonizing for longer periods of time when I use the deck Lol, especially with the turn 2 boost.
use 3 different charmers to increase the chance of link climbing easily. i still gonna play access 100% in sky striker.
Problem with Halq is it generates too many, i mean too many plays and combos with one card while being too generic and has no limitations while Auroradon needs a crutch to even see good amounts of play, Links, Pends, Rogue or Meta Halq is being used, while Auroradon is stuck to Synchro hell.

@@maxd3str0y3r now i think You only can play adv tenyi swordsoul maybe with DPE if You don't want to waste all your gems, and the auroradon combo is going to be more exclusive to machine decks like abc (even more when Therions come to the Game) or deskbots

Wow dude Spellbook of Judgement being playable sounds crazy. I've never had the chance to play it, but I remember when this card made Spellbook a deck that could challenge Dragon Rulers. Do you think this will still be broken with it limited to 1?
It hasn't done much in the OCG and is still unplaulyable by itself, though it's an interesting option to mix with various combinations of Runick, Endymion and Sky Striker if you love running power spells and getting tons of cards.
Nobody can deny that Konami gives a lot of love to master duel, they answear to everything fast... but TCG on the other hand...

Probably because a vast portion of their player base statistically (it was way over 50%) up and left, and they realized maybe they need to start changing up or risk the game ultimately dying.
@@icebearnicho8256 Lets be honest here, most of the players that came to try yugioh and even returning players already left, most of the player base is already people who would probably support this game anyways (at least thats my opinion), i had tons of friends who liked the game but left because the first couple of months where there were no changes (new cards or banlists) i was kinda turned off by that aswell but stayed (and now i dont regret cause im actually having fun), this could also have influenced the team to do changes more often
good glad to see this stuff get banned or limited only thing i want them to address now is the igknight ftk, numeron decks, and finally the thunder dragon colossus card ban those and we can finally have a more fair playing environment

Orcust crave bodies. While the DPE hit changed the deck, it just pivoted. Now the two Malicious and one Denier give them bodies. Absolute worst case Destiny fusion gets negated. Pitch Malicious later for effect, example being Droplet, and then use the effect in grave for a body. Orcust needs bodies to work. It's why they get paired with P.U.N.K. or used to be adventurers. The crystron ban is going to change a bit of the deck around, but I'm excited to see my Harp back at 2.
Very good ban list, branded should have got few semi limits but otherwise I am happy with the list
I wish they would've just banned Auroradon instead. I like using Halq for other plays, whereas Auroradon feels much more *specific* into just being summoned for the Halq/Tomahawk lines with O-Lion.

Honestly just ban both. They are both too strong in their own right. And halq is way too easy to break. If they leave halq another degenerate combo will come out with it as a starter eventually

I’m down for floodgates getting hit but in my opinion traptrix is overtaking eldlich as the floodgate deck people play
@@zodiactyrano7833 traptrix's best floodgates are temporary, shifter and dbarrier, besides traptrix isn't much of a floodgate deck, most of their plays come from normal traps and rank 4 monsters.
I stopped playing because everyone was abusing adventure and halqdon, but this is huge and I'll definitely start playing again. My favorites are raigeki and ABC to 2

@@phoenix5095 Rather that thsn halq tbh. Also if konami keeps hitting cards that are the problem and not the several cards that the problem makes a problem then the state of play will grow healthier overtime.

The funny thing is, I removed the Halqadon and Adventurer engines from my Swordsoul deck just a *day* before this new announcement hit.

Adventurer doesn't mix with swordsoul though, and halqdon is just a random optional combo you can do if you open adhara and an extender, not the main play. Maybe you meant rose tenyi?
@@jimtsap04 No, I was using all of them, including Rose and Tenyi. I like playing big unwieldy piles and having to just play whatever I managed to draw into.

@@BigBossZUCO adventure isn't dead, it's not banned or anything, just limited. And there were earlier versions of the deck that never used adventure engine. It's kinda extra even tbh.

My thoughts exactly. I would be more okay with Halq being banned if literally 2 weeks they hadn't limited Pot of P. Rogue decks will have a harder time in the ladder.

i had a combo using halq in dinos to summon @arrival ignister paired with borreload and any link 4 as an end board......cant do that anymore i guess

Never trust Konami. They're like a thief who leaves you some gas money so they don't feel as guilty about taking the rest. They trolled us with the preemptive Semi-limited status on release.
I like it, however i would've prefered if they limited the floodgates instead of semi limited. Also barrier statue is no where to be found.
Your telling them to ban a card that's 1000 atk and def when you can normal 1100 card to destroy it

Trishula at more copies won't change the hand loop(Gateway and Isolde were the main culprits there) or make Ice Barriers easier to play. And with how slow removing Bushido counters is I don't expect that annoying strat to be popular.
Especially when Virtual World has an even easier one involving spamming Gottoms' Tribute effect, reviving it with Cloudcastle and finishing with a Rank 9 from the Mecha Phantom Beast secret pack that banishes a card from your hand.
And Infernobles still have shenanigans they can pull with Smoke Grenade of the Thief, Omega and D.D.R., though without Halqdon you might have cards left by the time they're done.

Even with Auroradon banned, Halq was still being abused. It's too much of a broken card. Glad to see it gone
Still would also like to see auroradon banned both to iron out the problem completely because scraps and rank 7 turbo can still make it, as well as refund some materials to players.

I literally just built a halq variant of swordsoul a couple of days ago just to experiment with it and now I find out 2 days later it's being banned.. Guess I'm going back to my previous build lol
I was reading the ban list on master duel and correct me if I'm wrong but uncle Konami is only giving 20cp for ban cards and reduced returns for more copys.
As a guy who likes control decks, I actually like my floodgates being semi limited. Allows me to cut down my deck size without having to choose as hard between different floodgates based on the meta.
I get it, the less u have think the better. Monkey flip decks is very fitting lol
@@user-oq9jw7hb2g More like since there’s no side deck and I don’t want to run a 60 card pile while still having at least one out or counter that doesn’t immediately get shut down to a hand trap. And let’s be honest, most meta combo decks are just as monkey brain since they all just follow their single flow chart. The only difference between a control and a combo deck is one has duels that take 2-3 turns while the other takes 5-6.

@@TheKing25069 I won’t lie to you, I made a pure special summon hate deck when Swordsoul came out built around Vanity’s Ruler, Mage Power, and Imperial Iron Wall. Other than that the two decks I’m using are Drytron/Nekroz and Magical Muskets with either Spriggans or Eldlich support.
@@blaze3422160 lol, U don’t have to play meta. Yeah some deck are ‘turbo’ decks that have basically the same combo, like halqdon or despia. Other literally have different lines with every hand, like dragon link and dangers. Either U still get to think about ur plays and how to counter your opponent utilizing ur monster effects and the toolbox available to u ‘the extra deck’, not just monkey flip ur floodgate, lose to duster. It’s like playing two different games, I have a monkey flip floodgate deck (spiral? The water token ones) and I literally use it once a month for kicks. Nothing fun about flipping a floodgate and insta surrender/setting n waiting to draw for the duster
I would rather have Auroradon banned over Halq, huge hit to most rogue decks. Otherwise, insanely good banlist, very excited to see how it plays.

guess I'm one of the only ones that doesn't like the halq ban. I don't follow or play the game enough to know if there was like a particular halq play that was making it busted, but it was a pretty nice addition to my vampire deck which struggles enough. I can't stand the destiny hero or dragoon engines but halq helped some weaker decks get to their own boss monster.
Basically now everyone has spent thier money on these new decks and Konami decide to nerf those decks😂😂 typical

You love spyral just means you're not sick of it yet. Its so low represented finding one in the wild is interesting. Once its more prominent everyone's gonna be sick of it
That's the cycle of every meta deck not just spyral, infact it also happened to spyral twice when it became tier 0 at the start of link format and tier 1 on extrav and magician's souls release
