    Lee, I know how much you have talked about depression and it's real for so many people, maybe more with our lockdown. Your personality and your gift of sharing helps so many people get excited about photography. Thank you so much for doing what you do to help others. Stay safe my friend :)

    I used to hate dandelion season and right now in Canada, we don't have any. I can't believe that I am looking forward to it this year! Just discovered your videos and love your presentations and simple explanations. Look forward to more! Great job Lee. As an ex Brit, love the accent!
    Thanks again

    Lee, I don't know if you have heard this quote by American Landscape photographer Ansel Adams... "The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it"..... You have nailed it - Awesome Photographs. I found your channel by accident last week and I've been watching your videos since. My advice to anyone else watching "Watch Lee's video's right to the end" he comes up with these great gems - The Pringles can on the Flash... the shower sponge thing as a background.... Keep up the great work, Lee .... Now If you'll excuse me I'm off to buy a can of Pringles and fire up my camera... Thanks again.

    I am so glad I stumbled across your videos, Lee. I own a Canon 5D classic and a few lenses. I have just bought a Sigma 50mm f2.8 1:1 macro lens. I got it cheap because of the autofocus not working. As I only need manual focus, it doesn't matter. Watching your simplistic but artistic approach, I am going to try to be more creative. I have a few dandelion clocks in the garden and will attempt a few pics. Pleased to have subscribed and really looking forward to seeing more of your work.

    Fantastic. I have been inspired by your videos and had a ball yesterday trying it out. I found the hardest part was making the background visible in the shot. It appeared to be there in live view (I could see the card moving in and out of shot) but in some, it then didn't appear in the photograph. Could it be that it is actually the reflection of the b/g in the liquid we see in your shots? I think it was in mine, despite having the camera so low that any lower and I was catching the front edge of the plate. However, I have one shot in particular that I really like and would really love to show you, but don't know how.

      I just discovered....after a heavy rainfall all the dandelion clocks looked battered. I cut some, put them in a jar of water inside. Overnight they have all returned to 'workable'. So if you think the rain beat you to it - It hasn't ! Hope this helped someone.

    Do you mix water into the milk?

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  Рік тому

      Hi my friend yes I mix a little bit of milk with the water. It helps the reflection hold better and it also gives you better colours in the reflection.

    I can't get color cast on milk surface so that no reflection of droplets are clearly visible do you think using a non-shiny background paper can cause this

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  4 роки тому +3

      Most definitely my friend as it will not bounce the colours in the light.
      Try putting some clingfilm (food wrap) over the top of your backgrounds this will make it shiny

    I’m a photography student in the US and have chosen to do this for my final project. I can’t get the clock to fill the whole frame. In order to get any focus I seem to need to frame the clock too far away and then crop from that image. What am I doing wrong!

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  4 роки тому

      Hello my friend are you using a full frame camera or a cropped sensor camera. I use a cropped sensor camera this means I can fill the frame a lot easier my friend

    How do you get the whole image in focus

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  4 роки тому

      Hello my friend it is just the f stop that helps to get the pictures in focus. But if you look carefully not every thing is focus. Plus the backgrounds make a big difference and helps it look all in focus

      @@LeeHallphotography thanks Lee I'll have another try today, would it be better to turn the dandelion seed so its more square to the focal plane

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  4 роки тому +1

      Yes my friend get it as square as you can it really helps the focusing a lot and this way the focus can run better through your picture without pushing your f stops up.
