    Thanks for the video and the tips. All I need now is the patience to put the droplets on with a syringe. 😁

    Great video as usual. What I struggle with is to get a clear diffraction of the object through the flower, due to surface tension of the drop. Not sure if there is a way to get it. Would be great to get your thoughts / tips on the same.

    Lee, Amazon has a set of syringes and various size needles for glue and oil but what they don't say is they work with water also.

    Hi Lee, just wanted to thank you so much for all your videos! You give the most practical suggestions on how to improve my photos. I tried spraying water on something similar to a dandelion clock but I'm struggling with focus. Any suggestions? I heard about focus stacking but I'm not that advaned. Photography is a new hobby of mine.

    Lee, great video! Could you tell me what size gauge needle are you using or suggest for a beginner in water droplet refraction. Thanks

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  2 роки тому

      I could not tell you a size my friend the best ones to use are diabetic needles as they are the best you really need the sharp ones as the blunt ones really don't work as well.
      As soon as I find a good supplier I will definitely let you know.

    Hi Lee, thank you very much for your videos I have found them really inspirational so much so I would like to have a go at macro. Now, I have a Nikon d3400 could you recommend a reasonably priced lens I could start off with, I am on a limited budget as I am an o a p. I understand you may not be familiar with my camera but any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks, Brian.

      Hello my friend thank you ever so much for your kindness.
      I started off doing macro with macro extension tube my friend they are brilliant you can put them straight onto a 50mm kit lens and you will have a great start to macro. You can get a set from amazon for around £40 pounds.
      Then if you really want to get a lense i would recommend a sigma 105mm for the price.
      I get a lot of my lenses from MPB online they are used but they are a great price and a very reputable company. I keep all my gear to a budget my friend. I really hope this helps you.
      Thank you once again if you have any more questions please ask

    How do you get ALL of the drops, including the very small ones from the spray, in focus with a Macro Lens?

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  3 роки тому +1

      Hello my friend the way I do it is to get the subject as flat as I can so that they are all more or less on the same focal plain. This way it helps you to get 99% of them In focus with out photo stacking them.
      Hope this helps you out

    Not really what I was looking for. I like to shoot in nature, in the rain or after a ran, preferably in the rain. I shoot water drops on flowers, grape vine tendrils, almost anything that can support a raindrop clinging to it. I am at the mercy of low light, the wind and my own clumsiness. I was hoping to learn about camera settings, lens selection, manual focusing etc... I did manage to grasp a thing or two from this video, so thank-you kind Sir.

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  Рік тому

      You are most welcome I also love going out in the rain or after the rain it is truly the best way to capture the natural beauty of a water droplets hanging on tho a flower petal. The only thing is my camera I video with would not let me show the natural beauty with the poor lighting.

    why not adding glycerin in the water on the rope or the grass ? it is way easier

    • @LeeHallphotography
      @LeeHallphotography  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi my friend I find it much easier without glycerine to be honest and I seem to get a lot better results with my pictures. I manage to get perfect results without using it but if you find it makes a difference to your pictures and it works well for you don’t stop using it my friend

    • @dodizphoenix
      @dodizphoenix 6 місяців тому +1

      @@LeeHallphotography I feel that it makes the droplets kind of thicker and sometimes it lasts longer on grass ( but not glycerine alone I diluted it with water ) . I loved how you made the idea of the grass 🌹 I ve always waited for rain to shoot the droplets on grass ( you can imagine the mud and the mess after that ) 😂🤦🏻‍♀️
