    I asked about bump steer on this rig when you first posted the video this morning, but now watching in slow-mo there appears to be a whole lot of that going on at video point 8:27+ , especially when viewing at 0.25 speed

    • @justinsmith2958
      @justinsmith2958 6 років тому +2

      We thought there was too after we watched our testing videos. We cycled the car and it has less than 1/4" of bump. The movement you are seeing is tire deflection. It looks bad but you can't feel it in the car. Also, we put a set of Methods and 32" Tensor DS tires on it for extra testing and the deflection in slow-mo was 80% less. We feel that it is limited to the tire and sidewall design of the stock tire.

    You know the one thing that stinks about this video? The fact an S is outside of my budget. Lol. Car looked amazing in your footage. Nice review.

    I assumed you pulled this vid the first time to address my complaint about the lack of outtakes.. Imagine my disappointment when I found that my comment had no bearing on your decision 😐.. Still a great review!

      Shock Therapyst Yeah I don't i saw it lifted the first time.. I'm just kidding about the outtakes of course, but they were really funny on the XX VID. We have the XX and a Turbo Dynamix, these reviews are spot-on!

      We were bottoming out the XX pretty hard today. May have to get those rear shocks worked over soon!

    I have a YXZ and love it! I’m worried about guys like you causing the industry to start making 40 to 50 thousand dollar side x sides. It’s getting ridiculous and most of us can’t afford it. Side x sides are not sand rails or off road buggy’s/trophy trucks!

      Justin can not dictate the industry standard. The market does that.... There is an abundance of new $15K UTV's for those who do not want to, or can't throw down $30K.

    • @j92KOzi-13_
      @j92KOzi-13_ 6 років тому +4

      DUNEYXZ pretty sure that's exactly what everybody wants the industry to do if enough of them keep upping there game it'll flood the market with race quality machine witch will drive the price down simple supply and demand brotha they will always make the lesser side by sides for ppl who don't need or want the xtreme sport units

      15k is a TON of cash for 99% of the USA..... that's why the sport quad market died. They started charging 10k for a race quad and people said fuck that.

      Just because a higher end model exists doesn't mean you need it. There are plenty of more budget friendly options out there. Also, the high-end models drive innovation that will trickle down into your budget machines. These big bad machines are to be celebrated, not demonized!

    Would have been great if you had shown the ride difference between stock and springs and your springs.On the same track.

      I know this is 2 years late but...I have one, replaced just the springs that came with crossovers, made a 75% better ride. Coouldn't be happier.

  • @NavigateOffroad
    @NavigateOffroad 6 років тому +1

    My only question is how a spring kit like this effects the dynamix?
    Does it need to be re-tuned at all now that you have started playing with the suspension?

    • @justinsmith2958
      @justinsmith2958 6 років тому +2

      Midwest ATV the Dynamix does not know what spring or valving is on the car. It simply stiffens or softens the shock through the adjuster according to the signals it gets from throttle, brake, steering and more. It does this whether the shock and spring are a bad set up or a good set up. It is the same as if you could adjust a normal compression adjuster with 24 clicks by hand while you were driving.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad 6 років тому

      Justin Smith oh ok. I suppose that makes sense. I just figured it was specifically setup for those shocks and springs. In other words I would have thought some of those sensors would have been in the shocks.

    Great video! Quick Q - looking at the whole market, what would you recommend from a reliability standpoint? AKA, someone that just wants to buy a sport SxS and drive it hard one or two weekends a month in desert like enviros and just not have to worry about loose suspension components and failing parts after a year? It almost seems like the XX is the way to go, the hubs and such on it are super beefy compared to the setup on the Turbo S (and the X3 / YXZ to be honest, ball joints everywhere). But then i'm paying over $20k for a car that needs a whole new shock setup to perform anything like this and will always be down on power...

    • @justinsmith2958
      @justinsmith2958 6 років тому +3

      If you are even thinking about having big power or not with your criteria for a new car, there is no choice, buy a Turbo S and upgrade the ball joints. If power is not an issue ever in your mind for the terrain you run then buy a XX for structural longevity reasons. Remember, we test hard. We drive and race hard. We typically will find things breaking that most people won't. I am not sure if your driving style will ever find the weak points in a Turbo S or not. Just keep that in mind when you think about where our opinion is coming from.

    @shocktherapyllc does the 2021 model two door rzr turbo s with dynamix fox shocks have the same problems with shock springs and shock internal components as the 2018 model you’re talking about in this video?

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  6 місяців тому

      The springs still sag out but shock internals are nice.

    Shock Therapyst, how long (in your opinion) until Dynamix suspension becomes "open source" and tuners can create multiple tunes, "Glamis tune" , "RJ Anderson tune", etc. ?

    • @justinsmith2958
      @justinsmith2958 6 років тому +3

      We have been in many meetings with Fox and Polaris about this subject. Factory "open source" is 2-3 years away. We will have shock flashes and tune able lap top access mid next year. Shhhh.

    • @goprozack4255
      @goprozack4255 6 років тому

      How do you import like rj Anderson tunes?

    • @justinsmith2958
      @justinsmith2958 6 років тому

      GoproZack that is what we are talking about. That will be available in 2-3 Years. Currently RJ is running the same system you and I are running. With the exception of spring and valveing

    Can you please comment on the difference in suspension between the Turbo S and the Maverick X3 XRS Turbo R. The X3 has three more inches of travel front and rear when compared to the Turbo S. Is this difference significant? Polaris advertises "25 inches of usable travel" with the Turbo S, but am I correct in thinking that that is a bit deceiving? Thanks for your great videos and reviews.

    • @justinsmith2958
      @justinsmith2958 6 років тому +2

      Viv Baker it has always been clear to me haven driven thousands of UTVs that a dialed in 18” of travel works much better in every way than a mediocre 24” of travel. In STOCK form the Turbo S rides better than an X3 RS. Completely tuned and dialed, the X3 rides just a bit better. I think the extra wheel base shines at that point and puts it over the top. Hope that helps

    I really thought Polaris should have lengthened the wheel base 4-8" and increased leg room at least 2"... As well as longer stroke shocks for a better motion ratio like the X3 XRS...

    I like the in depth review but polaris will just laugh at you. 80 plus percent of the customers will like the stock driving experiance more than they would if they tuned it for your concerns. They cant make it for the smaller percentage that wants to play hard.

    Polaris just unveiled its 2019 lineup. What a disappointment. None of the Turbo S upgrades made it to any other model except the accent lighting. What about us midwest and east coast riders who don’t want a 72” machine? We are not allowed to get a top of the line 64” model? I was all set to get a 64” Turbo Dynamix model if it got the new stronger front dif and reinforced suspension parts. I am amazed Polaris doesn’t seem to care about upping its reliability with all the new competition, competition that all seem to have a better reputation then Polaris when it comes to reliability. They could lose market share for no reason to, with so many models available how can not one get the new front dif. Even the rs1 has it, I thought for sure a few 64” models would get it. Seems clueless on their part to me. I thought it was a no brainer.
