Kyle, just want you to know that I’ve been very inspired by your videos, and your approach to restoration. So last week I reshingled my termite infested shed, before I demolished it.
I am so inspired by Kyle that I planish my scrambled eggs before I serve them. Also, I only cook one side at a time to minimize shrinkage. Always left the left slide cool completely down before tackling the right side!
Time well spent!
The metal working without Bondo is the only reason that I watch your channel....and to see how fast you can wreck a perfectly good coat.
Since you are doing a full custom car the old school way on your own time/budget I can only say thank you for taking the time to explain every step of the way

Kyle your skill level has been showing up again with the outstanding quality of your workmanship on doing this project. My whole life working on vehicles, mechanic and body both, I have always worked to do my very best to get it as close to perfection as possible, but without learning the techniques to accomplish it, I just wished I could have been able to get anywhere near close to the level of skills that you possess. My hats off to you for your amazing skills you have and thank you for sharing your knowledge through your videos, keep up the good work. that pick tool is pretty neat. i like the walk through with the traditional tools too but the updates on the battle of the blue chair is the kind of hard nosed journalism missing from cnn and fox news. super appreciated!

What I have learned so far from your videos is it would be best if I do not start a project that requires body work of any kind. I'm afraid I would be in over my head. Here at my home, it's the war of the cat tree.. I have to send in the white helmet peacekeepers at least twice a day. Your loyal viewer in a shed.
My cat tree is structurally compromised thanks to years of claw attacks at the base. The cats are smart enough to know that a bombed out tree on the verge of collapse isn't worth fighting for.

You are a metal finisher. You are a rare breed sir, most folks including some of the most respected car builders would short strand glass over all the stuff you’re finishing in metal, When anyone who wants an older restored car would prefer a metal finished car. The work you do is more than likely something no car builder would do because even they do not possess the patience. You’re work is excellent and you surly get all my respect absolutely. 💯
Kyle I love the look of the Pontiac donor car . I live in the lower 48 and I've never seen a Pontiac of this year and model . I own and drove a 1955 Pontiac in high school .
I loved that car while all my friends rode Tri-Five Chevys I drove my Pontiac w/ Pontiac power . I love and have learned even at 73 yrs. your videos and work
72 and I drove a 55 Pontiac convertible in high school. Purple and white. My dad drove a Pontiac of the donor’s vintage long before that. I love those waterfall hood and deck trims.

I never get tired of watching you shape sheet metal. The standard of your work is second to none. As for body filler I can remember way back watching American Hotrod where the whole car got "buttered" with filler and sanded back. The cars looked amazing but to me the body filler is very soft and if you touch anything there will be a noticeable scratch. So in my opinion if you are making a garage/trailer queen used for pot hunting in shows, then its ok, but for a vehicle that is to be driven the less filler the better in my opinion.
even though i have been doing this stuff for longer than you have been alive....i am always learning something new and your tutorials are easy to follow and well explained.
i will always be an untrained self taught amateur and i am glad of people like you that take the time to explain it all.

I'm sure that the reporter should receive an award for excellence in journalism.

The 80 grit money shot was interrupted by the the update on the battle of the blue chair so Kyle could cover up all his mistakes by purchasing a new cab and switching them out.

I have watched chicken truck through 3 times and still learn from your hackery. I am doing the same thing to my 1953 Dodge 2 ton truck but am not chopping or sectioning or channeling but doing what you do. The one thing that has changed for me is patience, which begrudgingly you have shown me the way. Keep up the GREAT work.

22:50 We used to use an acetylene torch and a wet rag.
Yes, the dull grinding disk trick was taught to me by a few old time bodymen. It was used for minor shrinking over a large area when torch shrinking was too aggressive.
My shop cats' favorite channel- they say, "Moar kats plz kthanxbai", that's what they say.

Kyle, I agree that prices are crazy now. However........I can tell you take pride in your work and your way is the right way to do it. I plan on replacing the roof on my 1979 Ford Crewcab pickup this spring. I can only hope it comes out 1/10th the way you do it. Great job as always!

So much learning in one video. Even in slow motion it's had to take it all in. I do like the way you sound in slow motion though. It reminds me of my drinking days. I think that Allen moved his fortress to one where he is better camouflaged. Poe can't attack him if she can't see him. I too have used this method to hide from women in my life. I recently received a couple of patents in the US and now going for international patents. If you know anybody up there could you put in a good word for me? Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.

One of the biggest things I have picked up in this school is access to both sides of panel don't be afraid to remove obstacles. remove the door skin if necessary it does go back on. Thanks Kyle.

When any type of gauge hits 0, you should always tap it like in the movies. Flying an airplane and your fuel level shows zero its obviously a bad gauge and tapping it always fixes the problem.

I'm a sub-amateur body work guy, but I've seen some TV shows and videos and stuff. I think you could work on million-dollar cars. People that are sticklers for using less filler and people who insist on everything being done the old-fashioned way should appreciate your skill and patience. I think what you do is very cool! I just hope I can emulate it to a limited degree.
I believe in putting as little filler as possible but as much as needed. That said I prefer to work as many low and high spots out as possible before filling.

i would love send some money to but i had heart attack about augs 8 and cost of the pills and in june i will be turning 65 . cannot wait. one thing when i was 20 years old boy . i use do go auto look for lead weights from old tires. and melt down with tin cans for body works then use some bars mix them the use bondo it was not cheap back then. but it so nice see new ways do it and to get smooth. keep showing more. feed us more .
