Awesome video John, some stellar lines there. A mere sprint after the rigours of the trinity of Ennerdale, Wasdale & Ennerdale, but will still require plenty of bitty as it has several stings in the tail (all a bit hazy, last ran it in 2010). You'll romp it mate. Have a great run 👍💪💪💪
By the way, you know YT puts ads on your videos anyway, whether you monetise your channel or not. So you might as well monetise it. Super helpful video. One off our girls got lost there last year during the race and the people she came with were looking for her for 6 hours because she didn't have any signal on her phone. I am watching your recce now very carefully. Appreciate you making this video, John. And well-done on running all these Lakeland super classics.
I didn’t realise YT stick ads in anyway.. when I’ve watched my vids back they’re ad free so I presumed that was everyone’s experience. Thanks for letting me know 🙂 glad you’re enjoying the vids. Are you running this race?
@@lakelandtrailrunneryes YT just puts ads on that are being watched well. Like at first there weren't any ads on this one but as soon as people start watching it, the ads appear. That's how YT makes money. Even if you don't monetise your channel. I am quite slow at the moment. So I might not make the check points. I would have to seriously recce it too first. I want to do it next year.
Hi John. Assuming i'm super fit and can bound up the hills (Pfft)... what kind of pace do you think you'd need on the flats and downhills? It's something I'd love to try next year but being timed out seems a bit miserable so I'm just trying to gauge the fitness required. Cheers!
Hey thanks for the question. Tbh when it comes to pacing it's not something you can measure like you could a road race (I find). Rule of thumb I go for is push as hard as I can when walking the steep uphills, run the inclines and flats without gassing out and bomb the downhills as fast and safely as I can and hope all that is enough to get me through the final cut off. Once through that I'll ease off the gas a bit. On longer races I'll try for a percieved effort of 70% in the hope to preserve myself a bit.
Fantastic views on the tops.
Thanks John, great video as per usual 👍
Thanks Paula glad you enjoyed it 🙂
