    Beyond excited to be sharing this work and the film-making process to achieve it with you. This shoot was intense and finding the right pieces in the edit as well as the very demanding VFX were even more challenging.
    In this video I want to break down the full experience of what was involved in planning, filming, shooting, lighting, a sequence to follow motifs and themes to support the plot.
    The Music Video 0:33
    The Plan 5:00
    The Production (Part 1) 9:11
    The Production (Part 2) 10:38
    The Lighting 15:00
    The Post 20:02
    This story was about the quiet, yet internally loud, struggles of the mind. The idea of finding the pieces of you and upholding your ideal self while staying authentic and sound is something we all go through to some degree.
    How can we overcome our regrets and use our past to better shape our future instead of tearing down?
    A man searches for a cabin in the storm.
    I hope you find your quiet place and I hope you enjoyed this video.

      I was so blessed to work with people that genuinely care and give it their all. On low budget shoots there’s always a ton of limitations and challenges and when a crew is spread thin collaborating with the right people makes all the difference. I learned that the hard way but I recognize how much of a blessing this crew was and will be in future projects. Thank you for watching!

    tha particles are really good, you should make a tutorial on how to layer them and color it

      That’s a great idea. I’ll incorporate the particle shots from the music video in the upcoming tutorial and also do a full video on all the other ways that you can use this pack. Great suggestion and thanks for watching!

    Good job, wish i could light my videos like that

    • @Kriscoart
      @Kriscoart  4 роки тому

      🙏😊 thank you! I’m sure you could! Just takes practice and a lot of experimenting. Seeing an end result like this can seem complicated but just playing with light, even lamps or things around the house, can get you very familiarized with light and how it behaves and therefore how to shape it and control it for your shot. By playing around with ideas consistently, once you need a real game plan for an actual shoot you can easily find the right tool for the job from experience.

    Amazing bro! I'm wondering what ND filter it used in this video?

    • @Kriscoart
      @Kriscoart  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks! The lens was a last minute swap so I’m not sure but I believe it only had a UV filter which is there mostly to protect the lens.

  • @usernamenotvisibIe
    @usernamenotvisibIe 4 роки тому +1

    Brother, I'm a noob and am just starting to learn about filmmaking. Question, I noticed a filter in your low light shoot...is that an ND filter or a stylized filter? Is it common to use an ND Filter in low light? Please advise!

    • @Kriscoart
      @Kriscoart  4 роки тому +2

      Hey Javier! I don't recall using any filters in front of the lens for this shoot but to answer your question: NDs are used to knock down light. You typically want to use them outside so that you can still have your lens opened to take in more light and give a shallow depth of field. If you dig deep enough I have some videos on just this topic as well as settings for your camera. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

      @@Kriscoart sorry, it's actually part of your intro...about 3 seconds into the video. Thanks for referencing your videos, I will take a look immediately...will I be able to see how such filters are used in low light?

    Thanx for this really informative BTS! i was wondering how did you do the piano going on fire ?

    • @Kriscoart
      @Kriscoart  4 роки тому +1

      Hey 👋 I’m working on a tutorial to cover the VFX and hopefully I can finish that this week. I’ll give you a spoiler about the piano. Only the first few shots with fire embers are VFX and then the rest is from stock footage of a matching piano set on fire. Stock footage when used properly can be a great way to elevate your production value. Thank you for watching!
