My old high school wouldn't let me walk out on stage to surprise my lil sister who just graduated high school, because they didn't want one person to feel even more special. Too late I made my little sister feel more loved than anyone else and I didn't even have to walk on the stage. I'm glad he got to surprise his brother. It really does give us that push to remind us why we serve our country.
Jenn B my son had contacted his younger brothers principal/school. It was their idea to let him hand him his diploma. We come from a very small town and everyone knows each other. It was a wonderful surprise. Thank you for your service! Always a surprise when our loved ones come home! I knew for a month and had to keep it a secret and I enjoyed it just as much as if I hadn't known.
Jacki Kruse that's so cool I'm glad your son got to surprise his little brother. My sister's and I are really close. The way I surprised my little sister at her graduation was I held a balloon low enough to where I could cover my face. She was taking pictures with her boyfriend and I just slid in next to her and asked "can I slid in on this picture" my mama got a picture of my little sister crying. Coming home to family to surprise them is the best feeling anyone can have.

+Michael N - Really?? 99.7 percent of the countries are free?? Let's start with the Middle East. Do you think most Muslim countries are free?? No...they are not! The gov't tells you what you can watch on tv, what music you can and cannot listen too, etc!! In most M.E. countries, women can't vote, drive, or enjoy many of the freedoms men do!! How about North Korea, China, Russia, etc. Do you think they are free...like us in the States??? Wrong again!! As the saying goes...freedom is NOT free, it never was!! It was paid for by the blood, sweat, and tears of the U.S. Armed Forces, and that freedom is STILL paid for by every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Marine, and Coast Guardsmen! If that wasn't enough, the military constantly help their communities and other countries by providing humanitarian assistance, during natural disasters!! I can go on and on with my lecture on this subject...but I hope that you "get the picture!" If not...write back, and I'll give you more examples of what it means to serve your country! BTW...I served, and proudly did so! HOOAH!

These family reunions will always have me choked up, because we don't see that in my home country. French soldiers' families are more secretive, more into privacy. Besides, US service members tend to be away a far longer time from home than most Europeans. I do understand the necessity of such reunions. I myself was gone 9 months in Ireland, before getting back home. Considering US families sacrifice a lot, this video can only touch anyone who comprehends the situation. God bless your family, you truly show how important a united family is... The area this is filmed looks a lot like a place I stayed at in 93/94 (around Riverside, Banning)... Went there for work - taught French in three schools (Enniskillen, Fermanagh).
My eldest son who is 26 and youngest son who is 11 have this type of relationship. They have a such a special bond, it is quite beautiful to watch. People are amazed how the older one has such patience with the younger one and they can't believe he has so much time for his little brother.

My sisters didn't even come to my graduation...even though one was not even 20 minutes away and the other went to her boyfriends friends graduation the weekend before. I don't even know where the oldest one was😥

Usually brothers are kinder to sisters and there is not such warmth found between brothers. However, this young man makes an exception and surprising his brother is not just one day act ; it is spontaneous as far as I can see.

its beautiful to see such a close relationship in a family. God (if there is any) gave me the most abusing people around me to live with and sometimes to work with. they abusing me emotionally every single day, even from distance. my grandparents were my family, but God didnt give them to live forever. i dont wish my family anything bad, but my reliefs will come just when i wont need to keep contact with them. im very sorry to use this page to comment these thoughts, but im always so happy and a wanna be there to live in such a beautiful family, like this.

I was a straight a, virgin. employed, NEVER in any trouble, drug free student. I had no one there for me at my graduation. no one. I had scholarships to college. went to college directly after hs. but my family...

With that great an age difference, there is no sibling rivalry. When brothers are closer together in age, there can be a lot of very bitter rivalry (not always of course) and emotions are harder to display.
I don't know, but every now and then this pops up. And every time I have to watch it, it always gets me.....the bond, specially military men surprising their brothers and sons...
