This is one of the main reasons why I want to be a veterinarian. Animals make life so much better.
They aren't just pets, they genuinely believe they are part of the family and you are part of their pack.

Meg, Would you please tell your brother how very much my family and I appreciate his service to this country so we may have freedom. I was raised to be patriotic and to always stand, right hand over heart for the national anthem and when repeating the Pledge of Allegiance, always stand with hand over heart facing the flag. I got side tracked there for a second but I have so much respect for everyone that is able to serve their country. Their families aren't thanked enough for the sacrifices they make. Children and pets have such a sweet and touching greeting for their dad when he or she comes. Once again, thank all of you for your service and it is an honor to say I am an American due to soldier's like your brother. May God Bless you, your brother and the rest of your family. The great state of Alabama loves our men and women in all uniforms.

Had a dog for awhile, he had been abused/abandoned and taken from the streets by family of a friend of my oldest brother. They had another dog and a baby and was first looking for a dog sitter for the 2 and wound up giving him to us and took the smaller dog. He was very scared the 1st week we had him. It took him several months before he settled. At first he only trusted my oldest brother. He let me pet him first, same day my younger brother. We were still young teenagers at the time. Then my mom and lastly my dad. He later on got sick I think. He died about 10 yrs ago.

@@sander6438 yes when i was small i used to feed chickens and hens grains. I didn't have friends during that time so i looked towards animals as a friend. The chickens didn't run away when i was there they were calmly eating but would run away if a adult showed up. The best thing about about animals is that they don't lie or cheat behind our back.

Years ago, when I first went off to college, I came home just a few months later, I guess for Thanksgiving. This cat that I'd had since I was 3 wouldn't have anything to do with me for a good two days. I betrayed her by going away. After two days, all was well. She did that cold shoulder thing every time I came back home, prideful little cat. I got "Oh. Its' you." Meanwhile, these dogs are all "YOU'RE HOOOOOOME!!!!"

I was,in the hospital 9 times in 2 years from severe cellulitis infections. Each time, I was,there for at least a week. When I would come home, my cat Delilah wouldn't have anything to do with me for at least 2 days, then she would come back to sleep in my bed with me. She passed away in April;she had ahyperactive thyroid gland and high blood pressure. She was a rescue we got when she was 2. She liked to ask for the attention rather than have it pushed on her. I love and miss you, my sweet girl.
@@vickiebohy1742 I'm sorry to hear that Vickie. It is always so hard to goodbye to our little pals. They have such beautifully complex personalities and they "get us". The cat I mentioned above died on October 4 1984. I remember because I ran a bloodmobile at college that day, and 7 other guys were supposed to be helping but I did like 90% of everything. I got back to the dorm room that evening, there was a message for me to call home, and I knew exactly what it was just by seeing the message to call home. I remember her on that date every year. She was a caustic little cat, but she was my caustic little cat.
Cats will be cats. They're prideful. They're those tsundere characters from every movie. Losing cats (or any other pet) is one of the worst things that can happen. I lost 3 cats in the span of 1 year, still can't get over them and my depression is back.
