Skyward Sword: Ghirahim vs Impa HD

- Here is the cinematic fight scene between Ghirahim and Impa. This is one of my favorite cinematics from Skyward Sword with a matchup between two unsuspecting characters. I am currently in Hero Mode so more might be coming :P. Hope you enjoy!
I love how Link's like: Oh so Impa's force field could be broken any second? Let me just admire this harp first
the game felt the need to till him there was no tine for that too lmao
Still saved her.😏🤜🤛😎
Well impas a bitch so
Sometimes I wonder where the heck was that Goron during this scene.
Chaos_Knight I think that goron was behind the roack the blocks the entrance, listening to what is happening behind the rock.
Good question
Bro researching blue butterfly’s
@@PabloYeezusnpc activities
I just played this part & i went and talked to him after this scene
And said that after a while of not figuring out how to through the entrance (because it was blocked) he decided to leave & while on his way he heard that explosion sound so he came back
"Protect Zelda!" Is just a nice way of saying "I wasn't protecting you, I was protecting Zelda."
I love Ghirahim's voice. I think it fits him really well.
Ikr
It’s the same Japanese voice actor that does Frieza’s voice in DBZ. That laugh is iconic
Link diving at Ghirahim like that is one of the most badass moments in a video game ever.
It's funny because I see Link as this pure little cinnamon roll but he's actually this epic dude
"Am I late?"
I cracked up when I saw that the first time XD
Link: "Finally! After hours of going through that dreaded mining facility, I can finally reunite with Zelda! No wall's going to stop me!"
*Ghirahim arrives by simply blowing up the wall*
Link: "Oh you've gotta be kidding me..."
Botw wild link wouldve just said: why didn’t you just climb over the wall?
@@SuperPrestogamer or bomb jumped or stasis launched a boulder and rode it over
"Impa is being attacked! Must hel--oooh shiny shiny."
He regrets not finishing Link off the previous time, but lets Link live yet again this time. Where's the logic?
***** How can it be a great storyline, if there's no logic in the character's motives?
*****
It is illogical. Now you're just defending him for the sake of defending it, because the creator said so, and you can't be critical to Nintendo.
It's such a stupid trope, overused, and uninteresting. Sure, I'll bite, when he didn't finish him off at first. I understand he's a sadist and likes to play around with people. I get it, and I'll bite for once.
But he didn't do it once. Not twice. If I recall correctly, he only battles him decently at the third encounter. Or even more, it's been a long time since I finished this game. There were times where he would just snap his finger and tell a boss to attack Link.
He's so freakingly mad, and understands Link isn't as easily killed as he thought, but he didn't do it when he had the chance. Stupid, illogical, and out of character, because he even contradicts himself by saying "I should have finished you".
Stop defending stories that make no sense.
The only sense that it made, is that we wouldn't finish the game in a few hours. That's it.
*****
Well, I didn't quite disregard what you've said, but there wasn't a lot weight to what you said in the first comment. "We don't know Girahim" is no excuse. It's up to Nintendo to let us know him, or else he's just a bad character.
There's a difference with a crazy guy that isn't supposed to be understood by people (like Hannibal Lecter), and Girahim, who's a typical Japanese bad guy trope. If Nintendo doesn't want us to classify him under the "cool gay bad guy", then he shouldn't have designed him like that, or let him act totally stereotypical. From what I know from all movies, books and games, he's not original, and it was intended to get what sort of bad guy he is from 1 glance.
It saves Nintendo precious time, so we don't need to invest time to understand he's a nuanced bad guy, and it's not even their point. We only need a bad guy to beat up, like any other Zelda game, hence, it would be contradictory to beat up a guy who's understandable. In that aspect, I like their genuine bad guys, like Bowser, Ganondorf or Team Rocket.
It's only when they TRY to do more, to let us feel as if this is a JRPG with an emotional story, with nice cutscenes etc, that I feel disconnected with it all. They try to make Girahim suave and sophisticated. He's not. And the plot is driven by stupid choices. Even if it did make sense, it isn't satisfactory, for me as a player (except that the game isn't over at that point). Personally, it's a very bad choice, and I felt like a coward for not facing him for many times, while I'm motherfucking Link who shouldn't back off for anything.
I agree. Ghirahim while a cool villain needs to either put up or shut up. Next time, next time, next time. A lot of next times and not much action.
I was thinking the same thing but it's unclear what it is he's gotta run to do since he says he has "no time". He's just lost his prey to the streams of time he shouldn't be busy at all. BUT, here's a theory of what could be so important. It's shortly after this cut-scene that Link fights the imprisoned. It could be that he left because he sensed Demise's call. But then it doesn't make sense why he's not involved in the battle with the Imprisoned. In fact he's not seen or involved in any battles with the Imprisoned. They never show it in game other than when Demise breaks his seal but maybe like Fi, Ghirahim can't exist and act independently when his master is awake. Maybe he's a piece of Demise's borrowed spirit that has to return when he manifests. Maybe he's directly involved in trying to break the seal.
Anyway, as to why not dispatch him quickly it's very reminiscent of the plot of Stephen King's IT. In it, this ancient, extremely powerful being is bested by a group of children. In the first-person chapters told from IT's point of view you understand that it's arrogance is on such a scale that it never really considered them a serious threat until it was too late. It doesn't consider them nemeses in any true sense. To understand this thinking, imagine there's something you have to do that's important and a dog gets in your way. He trips you on the way out of the door. Maybe he even bites you. But it's a dog. What does it take for you, a human, to consider a dog (a small dog or a medium dog?) before you decide to take the time to KILL the dog. Not kick it, not yell at it, not mumble idle threats but to actually try to take out the dog. What would it take? Barking at you? Biting you? Cockblocking you with someone you're really interested in? Peeing on your car? Shitting on your shoes? If it chewed up a very important set of papers while you were on your way to your job or an interview would that do it? How far does a dog have to go for you to whip out a gun or a sword of a can of poison before you kill it. I think most people would agree that none of those situations however aggravating would force you to break your current train of focus to kill that dog. You'd swear a little and angrily stomp off to whatever your objective is. We don't know his objectives but it's very clear that he doesn't respect Link as more than a nuisance... like a stray dog, and he speaks to him as such.

I do love this scene. The music is rising, the action is tense and Link isnt nearly ready to face this man.
2:41 I love Link's face there
He looks done with life and it's only his second

1:38 I totally chose "AM I LATE...BITCH?
You are scrub
Blester How did Impa react?
She says "No, you're just in time" Either that or right on timw. It's been a while
Honestly, I started on funny cat videos. I have no idea how I got here.
Twilight Princess may have brought you here
Cats = Hidden Village Minigame
Hidden Village = TP
TP = Wii Zelda
Wii Zelda = SS
Math, everyone.
He appears in my cereal
At 5:30 in the morning
It’s very strange and kind of startling
360P is HD? D:
Apparently
RedShockInc by tiny Game Boy Advance screen standards.
I'll be honest: the game looks so good I didn't even notice this was in 360p until you mentioned it here.
Was back then
Hey, no esperaba verte por aqui.
One of my favorite Zelda cutscenes to this day. I still get chills.
"Your Grace! Quickly, to the gate!"
*Ghirahim stops attacking and calmly walks up to the gate*
"That's YOUR FABULOUSNESS, wench!"
I feel like I'm the only one who goes through this portion of Lanayru desert without a shield. So every time I got to this scene, Link would have his sword out but then hold up his arm as if he was supposed to be holding a shield XD
My thoughts when I first saw this scene:
"I'd take pleasure in punishing you, but I have no time for recreation."
Mm-hmm. Have fun with that.
"But next time I'll do more than just beat you senseless."
Oh no, time for some stupid, cliched threat. Probably something like, "I'll make you pay," or "You'll regret this," or
"I'll make the affair so excruciating, you'll deafen yourself with the shrill sound of your own screams!"
...oh Jesus, I'm scared now.
lol i always loved how link stops in the middle of a battle and holds up a new item in admiration!
1:30 I absolutely love the laugh of Ghirahim and the music, it's just so naturally befitting and awesome
0:47-1:36 the definition of epic
"you got the goldestharp! but there´s not time to admire it!"
(link admiring the harp) :D
1:23 when you keep shielding against marth
XDDD
I think Ghirahim is one of the best villains ever.
Sure he reminds me of Matthew Patel, a little, & I usually find silent enemies more intimidating, but Faroredammit, he makes showboating look so badass.
I love the moment when links receives the heart and it does Item chime during an epic cut scene
I love how whenever Ghirahim leaves, the scenery brightens. Proof of that sheer evil he emanates!
2:42 I wanna hug him
Whatever problems people have with this game's graphics, there's no denying that the animation and the cinematic cutscenes are truly remarkable.
Skyward Sword was one of THE BEST Zelda games. The storyline, the emotion connected to it, all impeccable
I completely agree with you
0:02 See? There is voice acting in Zelda. Zelda is singing..............in a different language.
I'm pretty sure it's a fake language: Hylian.
And then you have Breath of the Wild Zelda...
I like BOTW English Zelda, she's a royal medieval princess so the british accent works
01101000 I think it sounds forced because she is being forced to do things by her father.
I loved this scene and the dialogue options really added to it.
This gives me chills everytime
amazing, loved this game! best cinematic story telling Zelda yet, with a beautiful classic soundtrack
I just LOVE saying "Am I late?" during this cutscene xD
This scene will live forever in my memory.
Just like when Link first meets Ganondorf in OoT.
This is my favourite scene so far! Love this game.
best scene in the game for sure
0:30 no joke but that's my favorite anime moment
It IS a cell-shaded version of Twillight Princess. The idea was to combine TP's art style to make the worlds look authentic, but at the same time, use cell-shading for the characters to really make them look expressive. And they are: Link's determination, Zelda's wistfulness, Ghirahim's anger, all of these emotions are protrayed in a way that only cell-shading can make.
Link: "My worst enemy!"
Ghirahim: >:D
Link: "A wall..."
Ghirahim: D:>
OMFG the soundtrack in this is amazing. ESPECIALLY when Girahim broke her barrier, that gave me goosebumps.... XD
The ost of this scene is simply feautyfull, epic, and emotional :')
1:29 this passage is absolutely amazing
ARE YOU SERIOUS?! This is one of the most cinematic, intense cutscenes of this entire game! And as for the game itself, it's incredible! The graphics might look a bit cartoon-ish, but that's only because they were going for a more paint-style look. If you play this game from start to finish, it's actually really good.
i had goosebumps the whole entire scene.
This guy is using an steel shield
People: Wow! The scene is amazing
Me: This guy, got some guts, the scene is amazing
I love how the story board writers managed to make him come off as totally way above your level of skill.
Thanks to Shesez, all I can picture now is Ghirahim T-posing while his one arm flails wildly at Impa.
WHY DO YOU HAVE THE IRON SHIELD IN LANAYRU DESERT??
Yes,it does'nt protect from eletricity, witch is the attack element of most of the enemies
...i didnt even have a shield lol
Ash Ketchum are you real? I thought that you were just a cartoon character but I then realized that you are real and you are talking to people from the outside of the cartoon.
Iron shield? I do the same, like I do keep the iron shield when I be in the 3rd dungeon. Like.I TAKE IT WITH ME TO THE 3RD DUNGEON. finally.
That's because Impa explains the harp to you when you're at the Sealed Temple.
I've only seen a friend of mine play and this happens to be the last scene I saw and so far its my favorite. Love how Link made his dramatic attack
Ghiramhim: "I'm gonna kill you!!" *leaves*
And, as always, Ghirahim is dancing while talking.
Such a freak-o.
I love the fact that back in 2011, HD was considered at just over 360p and a game like Skyward Sword was very technical. Especially for the fact that it was one of the first games to use motion controls and graphics were good. Unfortunately, most people now days don't even look at the storyline... It's all about the designs for them...
I want this form of Impa to be in Smash Ultimate!
OOT Impa seems like the safest bet, but we already have 3 characters from that game. In a massive plot twist, watch them choose THICC Impa from the Oracle games! 🤣
Skyward Sword is the only main Zelda game without a fighter in Smash and Impa is one of the most important characters in the series absent in the roster. Also, this incarnation of Impa is strong and has a cool design so I think she's the best option for a new Zelda rep.
I definitely want her, even if she becomes Sheik's Echo Fighter.
I was writing this exact same thing when I saw your comment. Yeah, we're total nerds. His straight blade had a strange similarity to the Goddess Sword, I thought...
1:13 Finally, an item that understands how much i DONT want to read about new items...
i feel like this is the first game i've really gotten into. when i saw Ghirahim's sheild go down i was like "hit him from behind, hit him from behind!" and link did it. then i was like "am i late now bitch!?" and the text option "Am i late?" shows up. This is the best game i'Ve ever played.
this is my fav cutscene
The first time I saw 0:50 I thought, THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!!
This scene is epic! In fact, I just got to it today in my game file. Though, I did find it rather funny that in the middle of all the epicness, the "get new item" theme song still played...
"Link, take this!" zelda shouts
"It'll help you where you're going." she calmly says.
2:12 Link: NOW IT'S JUST YOU AND ME!!
@ballerjus i did that, Impa just answered "no...your just in time..."
Funny because I think that the Impa and Zelda in this game have more character than in any other game in the series and that Ghirahim has more character than Ganon/Ganondorf in most games (not in WW). Of course Fi HAS to be there, that's her role, but if you paid attention in the ending you would know that she had a lot of character as her goodbye was rather touching. And Link has always been an avatar (he's a LINK between the player and the game) but the beginning proves he has character.
Ghirahim is absolutly the most fabulous villain there is.
when he get the harp from her and holds it in game...his face kills me -.- just that smile alone :D"harp"
thank you for choosing 'go', as that was the only option i haven't seen today
i love how Zelda keeps poking her head out of the gate to talk to Link :D
thanks for sharing, i love this scene :)
Who says you need to have top-tier HD graphics to make a great game AND cinematic scene?
1:09 because even in a situation like this, link still has time to be grateful for his stuff
In the middle of an epic fight. Da Da Da Daaaaa
WOAH!, Ghirahim is so powerful that is the first one who's able to brake through Nayru's Love!
Impa! D:
Let me guess, your "advanced" laptop is made out of laptop and iron?
This is one of my favourite cutscenes in any game, but I always find it really funny when he gets the harp and the doo doo doo doooo music plays. Completely out of the blue in the middle of this epic cutscene and its music, I always laugh XD Can't decide whether I'd have preferred the noise to play when the cutscene finished or whether it's more endearing as it is though.
so excruciating you'll deafen yourself with the shrill sound of your own screams.... well daaaamn
Haha, that stuff makes the game funny. I love the look on Impas face when you say Am I late?
I-I t-think I like Ghirahim 😨
I have to play this BAD
I like this guy too
I like Ghirahim too
He is my Favorit
Favorite villain ever. He's awesome
Foxella The Fox You Arne Right
Ghirahim is awesome
I Love him
...The hell... Every piece of evidence I can find says you're right, but I remember it so clearly...
When my dad was playing this cutscene, my brother and I were both in the room and said "IMPA!" like CD-i Zelda at the same time. It was awesome.
When Link jumped in I got chills down my spine
aww the look on links face after it blows up...he's like "god dammit....so freaking close...don't cry."
lol am I the only one who felt like answering, "Am I late?"
"Im a bad guy who almost killed Zelda! But instead of killing you im gonna disapear and let you play the game first!"
haha he shulda chose "Am I Late?"
I honestly love this game.
What kind of a weirdo doesn't pick "Am I late?"
1:22 Imagine if Link could jump
the funniest thing about this video is when Link gets the harp and the cutscene just paused with fire of diamonds are behind him and the whole scene is tragic, but Link is just sitting there with a big smile admiring the tiny harp that cant help him AT ALL in this situation...way to be smart and think fast there oh legendary hero XD
Impa is like a twentieth level monk in this game! It's awesome!
Yeah, it's been mentioned before that it was intended as comic relief during a tense situation, and to also help the player cope with being detoured once again.
That battle cry when he puts up the barrier is epic!
Press 9 for Ghirahim: THE SWORD MASTER!!
@TheBen2424 THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING WHEN I GOT TO THIS PART OF THE GAME!!! She pissed me off with that "you came to late" crap. ummm I had to fight lava monsters and giants lizards to get here, what were YOU doin'?"
I like the laughter of ghirahim in 0:32
"You sly dog! You caught me monologing!"
*After choosing the "Am I late?" option:*
Link: "Am I late?"
Impa: "...no. You're right on time."
Me: "YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!"
This game was such a badass cinematic experience.
i like how Zelda is like an anime, with the epicness :D
OMG THAT IS SO HD.
