Skyward sowrd link is probably the most emotionally complex of the any incarnation. from his relationship with Zelda, his companionship with Fi, and the somewhat brotherly bond he ends up forming with Groose, this game does the best job showing Link's emotional side

I loved both Midna and Fi.... and although Midna had an emotional goodbye, this one is more emotional to me. And I think I understand why. Midna... She stayed with you throughout your entire journey, going from selfish at the start, to selfless. Her attachment with Link grew overtime. When she said goodbye, she shattered the Mirror of Twilight on her own accord, and still lives in the Twilight Realm, just unable to enter the Light World. Fi.... Essentially starting as a glorified robot, players (hopefully) start getting attached to her. The attachment never *seems* to progress, as she never really changes, but this moment... Fi is willingly putting herself in an eternal slumber, and it's only now players realize how attached to her they were getting. The many adventures that they went through with her. All the dungeons, the search for Zelda, all of that was done thanks to Fi's help and companionship. And although most players may not realize it, they slowly get more attached with her as the story goes on. When she says goodbye, she *has* to go into an eternal sleep, and in this eternal sleep, she's essentially dead. Not only that, but she started to feel happiness. She started having feelings, and thanks you for the adventure. To sum it up Midna is still alive, living on in the Twilight Realm, shattering the Mirror of Twilight on her own accord. Fi is essentially dead, in an eternal sleep in the Master Sword, and once a lifeless robot, now starting to have feelings of her own, and she can't even expand on that.
Fi is still forever in the master sword(except maybe for the new zelda game cuz we dont know). Midna can never visit again bc the mirror broke and thats that. Fi may be able to one day leave the sword again, but midna isnt coming back
@@hollowcat0196 I do indeed hope so but even if she did, is link in botw her link or a different link? I actually really loved to travel with Fi in this game and I always cry my eyes out when I see this part😭😭😭❤❤"I hope we'll meet again in an another life"💙💟
there is a sidequest in breath of the wild.... in witch Zelda hears a mysterious voice from within the Master sword. A tear almost rolled down my cheek ;)
I haven't played the game either but here's what i got from watching an abridged version of this game, Your wiimote battery notification want to sleep for a couple hundred years and your girlfriend's friend from the past turns out to be a grandma in the future and she dies when you found out
I always had a theory that during Fi's gratitude, how she appears in front of him is simply Link's hallucination that she's still there. When she disappears, he realizes he was imagining Fi's face, for he actually wanted to see her.
Fun memories of finishing Skyward Sword, deciding to replay Ocarina of Time, seeing the Master Sword glow in that familiar way before dealing the final strike to Ganon, then crying over Fi all over again.
I loved Fi and she’ll always be with me. I know what Nintendo did with this. After SS I felt like the Master Sword recognized me for real when I was able to hold it in each game I replayed after, or even in BOTW. When I heard Fi’s noise I felt so special because I am able to recognize her too.
Skyward Sword isn’t my favourite Legend of Zelda, but it is up there, and I think I can say with confidence this moment is the first time a video game has made me cry, and to this day not many games have achieved this. SS is so underrated.
Old video I know, but the saddest part of this video is that links response to fi saying that they were just master and servant shows that link thought of it as alot more.
Maybe, Breath of the Wild is after Skyward Sword. ”May we meet again in another life.” In Breath of the Wild, in the last memory maybe Fi is trying to save Link.
There's something so sad and deep about an aritificial grasping at the task of getting in touch with feelings. Even Knowing that they cant feel, you selfishly want to connect with them emotionally, to send them your love and comfort. Yet you end up having to feel for both yourselves.
One of the most emotional scene in the video game history. And the most incredible thing is, that characters doesn't voice but we are still crying for the Fi's departure...
I've never played SS fully so I haven't watched this scene but is it just me that genuinely cried when Fi was gone when link opened his eyes. How Fi's theme changes makes it all the more heartfelt
everybody is talking about the breath of the wild Fi and how she was there all along but idk when botw takes place but lets just say its at the end.. Skyward Sword's timeline starts at very beginning hence why the master sword didnt look like it at the beginning. So that means Fi was present through everything like ocarina of time, majora's mask, twilight princess, all that good stuff... it was only at this time that Fi knew that her master was gonna die before Ganon was defeated so she told princess Zelda to save him and yeah yeah you know the story
This makes me weep, like Legend of Zelda has played an amazing part in videogame history and making a prequel before every game really aged well even though it may not be everyone's favourite Legend of Zelda game
let's be honest, we all do agree that Fi was a little bit annoying right? like reminding our controller's battery over the time, but it still shatters our heart when watching her farewell
No matter how many times I play this game I always end up crying at the end. My first Zelda game was Twilight Princess and it showed me how epic a story can be, however my second TLoZ Skyward Sword showed me how legendary and emotional a game can be.
When Link drew the Goddess Sword from the pedestal in the Statue of Hylia, Fi registered Link as her Master, and nothing more. When Link dropped the True Master Sword into the pedestal in the Temple of Hylia, she de-registered Link, but still said some last words to him, as she saw him as a hero and friend.

When she says goodbye, she *has* to go into an eternal sleep, and in this eternal sleep, she's essentially dead. Not only that, but she started to feel happiness. She started having feelings, and thanks you for the adventure.

"I will always be here, but this is when we talked, and now even that has come to an end. There's something I never got to say to you: Hello. Hello Hero. It's so very very nice to meet you."
Feels similar, if you catch the reference.
8:22 “Zelda, I don’t feel too good...”
You are a terrible human being, i like you
last time i played this game was 10 years ago as a kid. i've forgot most about this game but fi's farewell makes me fucking emotional, man brings tears to my eyes and shit
The music plays a huge roll
I actually really loved to travel with Fi in this game and I always cry my eyes out when I see this part😭😭😭❤❤"I hope we'll meet again in an another life"💙💟
This game really said that one reason to cry wasn’t enough
One of the best ending ever, Fi has to come back
there is a sidequest in breath of the wild.... in witch Zelda hears a mysterious voice from within the Master sword. A tear almost rolled down my cheek ;)
And when the Master Sword speaks to her, the little chime is exactly the same as when Fi is summoned from the Sword in SS.
Tim Schieber Oh my god, Seriously? Could she have come back, I need to see that RIGHT NOT!
Tim Schieber It's not a side quest.
@@illidan1333 it's memory
I'm crying even If I had no idea what is going on because I haven't played it yet
I haven't played the game either but here's what i got from watching an abridged version of this game,
Your wiimote battery notification want to sleep for a couple hundred years and your girlfriend's friend from the past turns out to be a grandma in the future and she dies when you found out
Play it . Best game ever.
I always had a theory that during Fi's gratitude, how she appears in front of him is simply Link's hallucination that she's still there. When she disappears, he realizes he was imagining Fi's face, for he actually wanted to see her.
I would give Fi a hug just to see how would she react to it, maybe she hugs back
Fun memories of finishing Skyward Sword, deciding to replay Ocarina of Time, seeing the Master Sword glow in that familiar way before dealing the final strike to Ganon, then crying over Fi all over again.
Link: Misses Pedestal
Fi:Your Master Sword Broke
Link: Waits 5 minutes for sword to recover
It made me genuinely cry after hearing Fi again in breath of the wild... truly a moment that I cherish a lot...
DOESN'T ANYBODY FELL BAD FOR IMPA????????
1:23 Love the subtle character animation
1:48 but what if he missed
I would've laughed so hard I'd probably fall off my chair.
Fi:Your wii remote battery is low
I would be disgusted. Idk why
Maybe, Breath of the Wild is after Skyward Sword.
”May we meet again in another life.”
In Breath of the Wild, in the last memory maybe Fi is trying to save Link.
Fi told Zelda what to do at that very moment:')
Breath of the wild is the most recent zelda in the time line, skyward sword is the literal start
Never played this game, came here after seeing people say the master sword’s sound in breath of the wild was Fi’s theme. Now i need to play this 😭
I was nearly in tears when Fi said goodbye. This may be the best Zelda story wise.
the song makes this scene even sadder than it already is :(
Is it weird that I cried at the farewell of what people consider to be an annoying character and I never cried during Final Fantasy VII?
I cried because of the feels... I got crushed by the feels when I watched this and played the game.
Every time I get to this part, I can't help but cry.
I loved this game so much and this scene still makes me tear up
When you realise that, in Ocarina of Time when you get the Master Sword for the first time, you actually reunite with her
Watching this in 2020 to relive my feels.
When the screen turned black, all I could see was my disgusting crying face.
1:48 goosebumps everytime
I actually cried when I heard her again in breath of the wild
Never have I cried playing a video game as much as I did when I finally finished “Skyward Sword” and had to say good bye to Fi. 😭😭😭
This moment.... this freakin' moment.... It kills me *every* time I see it...
Still to this day my second favorite Zelda since OFT and even after BoTW. These are just a little more personal
Fi and Midna are tied for my favorite Zelda companion.
As much as I want to see Midna again, I really hope we see Fi in BotW 2.
I came back to this and God I’m sobbing.
i really liked the fact that the master sword had an actual soul.
3:47 Fi and Link did meet again. Countless times.
I've never played SS fully so I haven't watched this scene but is it just me that genuinely cried when Fi was gone when link opened his eyes.
How Fi's theme changes makes it all the more heartfelt
Can't wait to watch this in HD
Damn, it has been YEARS since I played this game, and Fi's goodbye still his like a damn truck
everybody is talking about the breath of the wild Fi and how she was there all along but idk when botw takes place but lets just say its at the end..
YOOO FI WAS THE VOICE IN BOTW IT EVEN MADE THE SAME NOISE
I wanna start a petition to bring back Fi in the next game. Who's with me?
No matter how many times I play this game I always end up crying at the end. My first Zelda game was Twilight Princess and it showed me how epic a story can be, however my second TLoZ Skyward Sword showed me how legendary and emotional a game can be.
When Link drew the Goddess Sword from the pedestal in the Statue of Hylia, Fi registered Link as her Master, and nothing more.
When Link dropped the True Master Sword into the pedestal in the Temple of Hylia, she de-registered Link, but still said some last words to him, as she saw him as a hero and friend.
The way the bracelet falls...I can't handle it. She lived just long enough to see Zelda again and then, quite literally, gave up the ghost
This brought tears to my eyes first time playing it
I know everyone loves to hate Fi, but I always cherished this scene so much.
And now I'm in tears
Fi to Link: “May we meet again in another life.”
Robin to Chrom: “May we meet again in a better life.”
Demise is Link
"Its power is too great to leave in the grasp of man" they spelled it right out didn't they
Fi: you always remember me
