Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Demise Reborn [HD]

- While Link was fighting Ghirahim, the ritual to revive Demise continued working and was completed. Ghirahim offers Zelda's soul to transform The Imprisoned (Demise's abomination form) into the true, menacing demon king. Apparently, Ghirahim was nothing more than Demise's sword. The king offers to battle Link in a place where they won't be bothered by distractions.
My favorite part about this is how Demise doesn't try to trick you. He doesn't do anything unfair. He simply states everything how it is. He explains his thoughts on humans, recognized Link and the Goddesses's power, and sets up a fair ground for a duel. In fact, Link nods at his proposal for a "a place for us where we will not be bothered by distractions." They both recognize each other as equals and desire a fair duel to determine the fate of the world...
+Mr. TeM true, but still, it was cool until he acted like a bitch
no in the end he accpeted the defeat and he say that link is an uniquate.he dont have meet a Human like him that he says.
But he is King of evil i think with the curse he want to say "you have won this time but we will meet again and fight anew".He dont want to end it completly he just wants a second round.
more like 15 rounds.
Thats because Demise is Link
That shows how badass this guy is.
"....But if you truly desire to raise your blade against the world I would build......come for me."
Holy shit best intro to a final battle ever

Amazing build up to a garbage final boss.
RagetheSynthetic demise wasn’t a garbage boss fight
Cinematic but extremely underwhelming in terms of actual gameplay.
He doesn't really do all that much for a very strong character.
Fun fact: Dude who voiced Demise also voiced Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time.
Pheromone Whoa!! That's awesome!! :D
The dude who also voiced Demise and Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker also voices another famous Nintendo character who is more on the heroic side. Can you guess who? It's everyone's favourite ape, Donkey Kong! He started voicing him in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat on the GameCube, and has done his vocal effects ever since! Now THAT is awesome!
Pheromone
_The more you know!_
Pheromone Cool!
Pheromone were did u get this information
I love how Demise’s sword is a massive dark version of the Master Sword
This also is another spoiler that maybe in the future we could see more of this sword
@@thanoskitsos5710 Maybe in Botw 2? I'd love to have another final sword fight.
@@lonelywolf140 it's possible considering the corpse we saw in the first trailer of botw 2
The revalation that ghirahim was demises fi this entire time was an incredible plot twist. We all knew that he wasn’t the main bad, but everything he says now makes more sense. The way he constantly calls him my master, shit like that
That and their designs are so similar
@@tnr2217Only once the third fight with him starts, though. And that fight happens very shortly before this cutscene.
Demise was awfully.......................................... Polite about the whole thing
Just like thanos
GameTime with aeonlight2014 is that what you wished to say or was it all you could say?
I liked it. It speaks volumes of his power and confidence. For him, everything is little more than dead leaves on the sidewalk that is his path of power. Either they get brushed aside by the wind, or stomped under heel. Nothing other than his desires matters to him so he has little reason to be emotional or for tricks.
@@ColmK83
He even looks similar
It seems he was, but when he lost he cursed Link and Zelda, so he really didn't go down politely
Sooo.... Ghirahim is Demise's Fi? Seems accurate.
yes Fi and Ghirahim are both swords
***** The ganons are all reincarnations of demise, I think that's what he says after you beat him
***** like how? Link wisdom Ganon courage Zelda power?
no, it's:
Link: Courage
Zelda: Wisdom
Ganon:Power
QuickStrike0065 zant didn't kill him ganon he was in The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Adventures , it is the next game in that timeline
demise was lucky that groose got distracted by zelda. he would have kicked his ass xD
*_THE GROOSE, IS LOOSE_*
Groose would KICK his ass, nobody fucks with Groose.
Best character from skywards sword hands down.
Weebatron69 I agree at first I absolutely thought groose was just a troll, who tries to outshow link...But halfway through the game he starts to find out he has a role just as important as links, and without him they wouldn’t have been able to hold the imprisoned demise back. Groose finds a way to even help link get to faron when the woods are locked due to a massive flood, He matured as well, even if not fully! He still has an ego, but he shows he understands nobody can do links role as the hero but link, but that doesn’t mean groose can’t help! I gotta say this game has the best character development, Not only with groose, but with FI, Link, And even ghirahim! That is why this is one of if not my second most favorite Zelda game.
Demise: "I shall prepare a place for us where we will not be bothered by distractions."
Link: *During the final battle, proceeds to wave the Bug-Net infront of Demise's face* DISTRACTION!!!
Twilight princess ganondorf: "An impressive looking blade.....
But nothing more.
Would you hear my desire?
To use this foul blade... and use it to blot out the light for-
Link: *Proceeds to take out fishing rod*
Ganondorf: "What is this strange contraption, is it a whip of some sorts? I'd better just keep looking at it Link can wait"
I love Link's attitude throughout the whole conversation. He's committed to end it once and for all. And he shows neither hesitation nor fear. When Link first entered faron temple he's confused and afraid of the unknown but now he's standing infront of the literal embodiment of evil and he wouldn't even flich
The buildup to Demise's reveal was insane.
The first time you see this cinematic, the way Demise stands slowly, radiating raw power, and then just... gestures.
And the Demon Lord Ghirahim- the guy you've been fighting the whole game, who admitted to just fighting to TOY with you, TWICE, who you've just spent the last several minutes REPEATEDLY slamming into the ground with your sword buried in his chest, who is STILL STANDING after all that-
Is revealed to be this guy's SWORD.
It still give me chills.
Nintendo had their work cut out for them selling the Ganon that begat all Ganons, the Evil King of all Evil Kings, the Ancient Demon Lord DEMISE...
And they absolutely knocked it out of the park.

This is all I have to say for this moment.
Ghirahim: Master, You have beaten 0 types of this enemy

It's probably just me, but the part where Demise levitates Ghirahim up and them forces the sword out of his gem has always scared the shit out of me. It also doesn't help that Ghira is laughing maniacally like there's nothing wrong with this XD
Well he is his sword so he probably enjoys the fact that he's being wield once again by his master brings him pure joy
“Yes master harder”
I’m not sorry
that is the vibe he's giving @@triscuitgonzalez7936
@@triscuitgonzalez7936 Legit though, I felt super awkward when this scene happened when my mom was in the room. She didn't even bat an eye.
I love Link's character development here. In the beginning he's just a rather aloof and sleep prone kid who had never really known expectation or responsibility in a serious manner.
Now he stands here without even flinching against the most dangerous God in the universe and without fear or hesitation.
That's my boy.
Am I the only one who thinks demise looks like Akuma from street fighter
+Graham Higginbotham nope
you mean Oni Akuma right?
AKUMA!!! I knew Demise looked familiar but I forgot the name!
Mighty Nerd no I think so as well kinda like oni form
"I am power made flesh."
This is EXACTLY why link is badass he has his eyes locked on the demon the whole time and doesn’t move an inch and even raises his blade against him when most humans would flee. I mean everything is just perfect the music, the final boss, the scenery, it just makes link look so badass
While that is true that Link is fearless, that fearlessness is essentially a curse. I haven’t played Skyward sword since release but I distinctly remember Zelda mentioning that she manipulated the fact that Link is bound to that courageous nature. And if Hylia’s Chosen Hero from the Hyrule Historia is canon, Link is bound by the goddess’s Hero’s Spirit to be reincarnated without the concept of fear which when you think about it, isn’t exactly a blessing it’s a curse.
@@tortemir4689 , no, to be honest, Zelda didn't say that at all, and in Link's case, with the things that he has to do, with the beings and the great, cruel and unmerciless evil he has to face, with his destiny, that bravery of his is the greatest of blessings and gives him a strong force of will and determination, wich are completely necessary, not only for him but for us in our entire lives, this isn't the same to not recognize when there is danger, but being able to be brave anyways when you have to be it and when you have to protect others even if there's a lot of danger, fear is what grips us and causes us to suffer and doubt so much, in a world so full of fear, guided by it, there's no love, there's no caring for others, there's no standing up for yourself and for others, for what is right, for what you love, which is sadly the case of our world, but the people that have shown an incredibly bravery even in moments of great danger being even willing to give up their lives for others and for a greater good are the ones that have brought the most light to this world and which are the greatest and best examples for us, if he doubted he would be very dead here, if he trembled in this moments or didn't move with decision in this moments he would be dead, this is what's necessary, a great and relentless bravery and that's why he's the chosen hero, Goddess Hylia didn't manipulate him, but she chose him and blessed him, because he could do it, he had what was necessary to do this, he could be the hero, he was made in his core to be the hero, he's perfect for it, and she also gave him help, besides Link has a heart of gold and he is righteous, compassionate and kind, he represents the total opposite of what Demise represents, and he brings hope to the people, to the world, his bravery and determination brings hope to the world

They should put Ghirahim in Smash Bros. and make summoning Demise his Final Smash.
finally someone who is in one opinion with me in this point :D
Agreed
they should have demise and ghirahim in smash bros.
too late hes a assist trophy =\
Nah. If anything, Demise should be Ganondorf's final Smash if he shows up in the game.
At my first look at Demise: "You look like him."
My first look at his personality: "You act like him."
My first look at his sword: "It looks like his weapon."
Speech at the end of the battle: "That's it! Ganondorf is you're incarnation!"
no, not the weapon part.
Wakes up.
Eats a girl.
Rips out a sword from a guys chest.
Insults the human race.
Calls a mighty warrior a weak piece of shit.
Leaves.
Refuses to elaborate.
Groose took a level in badass I swear.
I think Demise, contrary to popular belief, is a great boss. Much like how Dark Beast Ganon from Breath of The Wild isn't necessarily there for difficulty, he's there mainly as a last stand, and to show what lengths Ganon is willing to go to rid Link of the world. Demise seemed to be more of a final stand, really. Not a challenge. He was there to show the story of the Legend of Zelda that Ganondorf, in every incarnation, exists because Demise hates Link so much that he cursed him for all of eternity.
Demise must be Satan of the Zelda universe. And also, Demise was the cause of Link's never ending battle with Ganondorf. I spite Demise cause it was his fault Ganondorf acted so evil.
Demise does not hate Link, as much as he hates the goddesses. He even goes out of his way to respect the challenge Link posed to him, and recognized him as the better warrior upon defeat. Ganon is the one who hates Link, and Ganon is a reincarnation of Demise, though he is not Demise himself.
Except the Bringer of Demise’s duel lets you modulate difficulty depending on whether you can shield bash.
Same I love Denise, is fav boss of the game
@@GardevoirBoy Not really he never actually set a curse he just sort of "is", Demise started of as a Ganondorf before he devised a strange dark ritual to turn himself into an immortal demon. It's just the nature of a being like that to return. Every "Ganon" link fights is actually just demise reborn. Link does something similar but i'm not exactly sure how he works. And Zelda was the goddess, up until breath of the wild where her mother was the goddess so she found some way to turn back into the goddess but give her powers to the bloodline, so her daughter could play her part correctly. Demise never said anything about setting a curse, he said he would always come back, and they would have to keep killing him.
"Welcome back to us, *Master*."
*PROCEEDS TO KILL HIS BEST SERVANT FOR A SWORD*
Uh he WAS the sword. Besides, Ghirahim was laughing like crazy when Demise ripped the sword out of him. Clearly Ghirahim knew full in well that he was just a tool for his "Master" to use. He even admits while you fight him.
Mike Anthony Wouldn't it have been better if they teamed up? The sword doesn't do much but block, and has damage. But the swinging is slow.
Fro Freak They cant. Ghirahim is Demise's sword. In away, they are kind of teaming up by having Ghirahim turn into a sword and have Demise use him...
Ghirahim is to Demise as Fi is to Link.
Ghirahim got exactly what he wanted
demise's sword is a dark version of the master sword
also an upside down cross
also, ghirahim is to demise's sword what fi is to the master sword.
Ghirahim is the reverse fay.
Fi says that Demise looks different to whomever looks at him. He literally represents their opposite.
Nooooo?! Really?
Ghirahim's true form is Demise's sword so in a twisted way it was pleasurable for him to be returned to his true form. essentially he is Demise's equivalent of Fi.
3:17 love that shot, it shows just how enormous this guy is. And lol at link...better be glad you had all 3 goddesses on your side buddy, otherwise you would be some demon's pancake breakfeast the next morning.
yeehawwoohoo demise has got to be about the size of hulk
WildGaming17 Quite late to be commenting this but, with the tall stature of Demise you also have to put in consideration that Link is and always has been a pretty short guy.
yeehawwoohoo It just shows how skilled Link actually is. Unless the player sucks (probs me)
Yet pretty easy yet challenging he’s a descent boss I heard
*4 godesses
I love how they work Goose's theme into the music.
0:12 DARTH VADER IS THAT YOU ???!

Kakirin I know, right? I thought the same exact thing! Lol
At that moment I immediately recognized Demise as Ganondorf's transcendent, my jaws dropped. Yeahhh it pretty took the Zelda series to a whole new level for me.

Demise - A beefed up version of Ganondorf
Demise - A ganondorf version of Oni
Mike Wise it's not a theory, it's a fact, his final speech before he dies basically tells you that
+Mike Wise why are you so dumb? Have you even played the game?
I mean ganon is the incarnation of demise's hate for humans sooooooooo, id expect similarities.
Chronologically, Demise is the first ganondorf. Well, in a sense. Demise dies and his evil soul went on to embody ganondorf, as stated by Denise’s last phrase as he dies
Demise is my favorite main antagonist in game. During the entire game you hear about him, but you don't know his true name till near the end. And he's so intimidating, even his name is intimidating.
I really like Demise as a character. I think among other reasons, he wasn't able to defeat Link because of his arrogance. He constantly tells Link how surprised he is at his courage and conveys that humans were weak in his time. During the battle he fights very casually and only starts getting aggressive at the halfway point when it looks like he may lose. All in all he completely underestimated Link.
This and the one from Twilight Princess are my favorite final bossfights in the Zelda series, they're just so epic and have a great build up!
Zant?
@@teatimesweets5791 no the final boss is Ganondorf in Hyrule castle
8 years later we have another addition to that list in the New Ganondorf
As Fi puts it, Demise is an eternal being that conquered time itself. The guy probably doesn't view the world in a linear motion. Even if the scene takes place right after the war, it's likely that he still had to "wait" the eons leading up to that scene.
I have a lot of respect for Demise. I don't know it' like.. even though he's a villain and everything, and looks really intimidating, i could see a hint of honor and respect in his words.
03:20 that laugh.
Lol.
+Bambi Raptor when bae tells a joke

Ghirahim and Fi are so cute, both of them. Protecting their masters swords and all that^^
Breathe like Darth Vader, Look Like Akuma, Fight like a Boss!
*Oni, though that's still technically Akuma.
I would love to see Ganondorf from BOTW 2 wield that sword Demise used. We'll call it the "Demon King Sword."
Glad I'm not the only one who got that. After all, his whole "we are destined to fight each other forever" speech makes so much sense with that. It was one of my favourite parts of the game. Basically the developers going "you wanna know why Link and Ganondorf always end up fighting each other...fate." Albeit put a bit more cleverly than that lol
I like how everyone has their name at the beginning of reincarnation, Link, Zelda, then Demise..... and no Hylia's Chosen Hero or Hylia, they don't count, because they never died and never "really" incarnated
Link’s courage and anger right here give me CHILLS
Yes I can really see the traits of Ganon within Denise. Two are the embodiment of evil, and two are willing to kill the hero of light. Like father like son.
I can't imagine how intimidating Demise could have looked if he was in Twilight Princess.
It would had been cool hearing demises side of ghirahim talking to him as a sword. Like “master, defeat this nauseating child once and for all” or “oh dear measter it seems that your at half your life level what a pity!”
Demise: Oh? Your approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me?
Well, Ghirahim was made to be used. He is a Sword Spirit, after all. He's like a robot, in a sense. Also, Ghirahim didn't die. He just returned to his true form as Demise's sword.
Only 7 years after I last played this game have I realized that Ghirahim is dark Fi...
Best Zelda game ever. Best art style , great graphics, amazing music and the BEST story in Zelda history
It was kinda threatening when demise got the anti master sword out of ghirahim's chest. I don't know if ghirahim wanted to give himself to demise of if demise flat out just used him, it's quite terrifying.
It would be cool if ghirahim was a fallen servant of the goddess I mean that would explain why he's similar to Fi
1:08 thank for the nightmares
Demise has to be the most fair zelda villian known to man
Its just me or this reminds me a lot of Voldemort revival from Harry Potter?
Who is here after e3 for breath of the wild2
Same
Just reminiscing the good ol days.
I can't stop thinking how INCREDIBLE this must have been for people who didn't know how the game ended already. Demise is GANONDORF? Fucking awesome. The ultimate moment. I would have loved this.
I really wish for the awakening of Ghirahim and the team up with Ganondorf that would be truly epic seeing Ganon fight with Demise s sword would make an exciting battle
Ghirahim is sealed into the master sword after this i thought.
I've never seen Link with an angrier face before.
You know, there's something I really like about Demise...it's like he's all classy about challenging Link, not acting all crazy or trying to insult him directly. He's very dignified about it. The first time I saw this part it really impressed me. He's not like Ganondorf.
I was quite thankful when I realized I wasn't gonna fight Demise right then and there. I had just defeated Ghirahim and only had...one heart left. So glad to see that save point in the background!
Girahim= Fi. He's a sword and he calls demise master. Looks a a "Fi" to me. I wonder if he tells Demise his battery is low.
Ghiraham was only used until his death as a tool or a weapon
Demise has one of the coolest villain designs imo
Demise: I have waited eons for this battle so I can wait a few more moments while you decide.
Me: Mighty considerate of you....just need to jump through time gears and fly to skyloft for a shopping trip. Peace!
So basically, Girahim is an evil version of Fi? His final form has a similar hairstyle, blank eyes, a diamond in the chest, they are basically swords and they call their owners "master".
It’s crazy how demise would later in the timeline become GANON
Broly.....what the hell are you doing in a Zelda game?
lol
That's clearly Akuma.
No. Tall, huge, bulky muscles, long, flaming hair, orange eyes with yellow pupils. Even the facial design doesn't lie. That's Nintendo's version of Oni Akuma.
I died after u said that XD!
KAKAROT
Groose is the Speedwagon of the Zelda universe.
Rest in peace ghirihim
Allyson Magee LOL
He doesn't die
Hes not dead, hes in the sword.
i love the Conan The Barbarian style music in this cutscene
When I saw this cutscene after fighting Ghirahim and he turned into a sword I forst thought: "No Demise, don't kill the most awesome character! Oh wait, he turned into a sword." But Ghirahim is still better than Demise.
Girahim is the sword
When Demise was reborn, He became similar to Ganon and Ganondorf. With its axe, it does 2 hearts on Hero Mode, 4 hearts on the final phase. He is a speakable monster.
*Demise Imprisons Ghirahim back into the sword*
*"The Imprisoned" battle music plays*
I see what you did there.....
I can't think of a better example of the ultimate evil in a video game world.
Ashera, Tabuu, and Demise would be good bosses if Smash Bros Wii U had a story mode.
don't you think that Demise's sword looks like some sort of Lowrule version of the Master Sword?
Prince Sidon yeah! Someday Nintendo would answer that coincidence
Not sure it's a coincidence when they made A Link Between Worlds 2 years later (which was their next Zelda game).
it's just because when you put the sword on the ground and it's become a normal Triforce symbol.this is in the title of the Game, Skyward Sword or for demise Hellward Sword.
Yes, Ghirahim is a weapon built by Hylia after all.
I mean it has an upside down triforce and everything
You can see the Triforce very faintly on Ghirahim's sword form....
Ghirahim Looked Like He Was Taking A Selfie With Position Of His Arms When Demise Stunned Him.
Demise is an epic final boss.love that evil laugh
Exactly, they are the same person, but Ganon, as you said, is his reincarnation, therefore, he was born AFTER Demise. I still don't know if Lorule was created after or before Demise, so that's why I said it.
Can someone please tell me why Demise's sword looks SO MUCH like the Master Sword? It even got the Triforce in it.
Sad how Grooses descendants become the real targets of Demises curse. Demise broke up the three amigos.
Holy shit I just now realized that the sword Demise wields has the upside down triforce symbol just like Lorule! Maybe that's why there isn't a master sword in Lorule
"Welcome back to us... Master."
(Demise kills his own servant)
Me: (Laughing) Seriously, Demise! Ghirahim went through ALL the trouble to resurrect you, and to thank him, you snuff him out! I mean, C'mon! Have you ever seen Ganondorf doublecross Dark Link before!?
Isn't Ghirahim basically to Demise's sword what Fi is to the Master Sword? That seems to be the plot twist here. So I assume he doesn't kill him, he just puts him back in the blade.
Though I'm unsure what _that_ was doing inside of him.
No dark Link double crossed him
Highly underrated villian.
i like how demise sword bares a resblence to the master sword and it has the same abilities
0:36 Ghirahim: Ah- .... (faints)
Am I the only one who thinks that, since Nintendo officially recognizes Breath of the Wild as the chronologically last game in the series, Demise should've been the final boss of BOTW and not Ganon?
yup but they ARE comin out wit that new botw sequel with him being the boss-demise. you watched it yet bro or nah?
Someone here by the Zelda BoTW sequel trailer? They found Demise's body.
Ganondorf but im a month late u might already know this
Or better yet, Ghirahim! :D His moves are perfect and everyone seems to love him. Nintendo can't deny all of the requests they've gotten. Demise also wouldn't be able to do much. They'd have to make up moves for him because all I can think of is sword slash and lightning beam.
I think he looked much more intimidating in his sealed form...
What? The cute guy with the funny looking toes and fingers? Daw he was more cute then scary
This right here is a 10 foot steroid injected ganondorf
Demise is the most original version of Ganon, meaning Ganon and Demise are ultimately the same being. If you talk to Fi while locked on to Demise, it clears things up for the player if Demise's final speech wasn't proof enough. Also, his sword, Ghirahim, is what looks like an evil master sword, especially since Ghirahim himself looks like an evil Fi. To further prove this, Demise's sword has an upside-down triforce on it if you look closely.
anyone see the new trailer for breath of the wild, thinkin that this demise gon be back??
Great minds think alike.
@@ultrapotatomode3222 hahaha hell yea bro
What I dont understand is why people is assuming hes Ganondorf (yep, I saw that picture on the wall) when all signs point him to be Demise (the long hair, red eyes, big body silouette you see in the shadows is exactly like him, his clothes...) when IMO hes Demise that by the way, he is the real origin of the dark as you see in this teaser...
Francisco del Valle Ojeda tru dat man
@@LeocaprioDinardo but why would Demise have all that jewelry with the Gerudo emblem?
I love how Groose calls Demise “thing”.
The real villain of the Zelda saga😈🔝
Actually Demise took the smart route by fighting in a realm where Link was less powerful, as evidenced by his inability to use a Skyward Strike. This is his respect coming into play; he doesn't underestimate the hero and tilts the scales as far in his direction as he can.
Ghirahim meanwhile was always underestimating Link and paid for it through his defeats. He might have beaten Link back at the first temple had he unleashed his full power instead of letting Link reach his potential first.
Definitely. Another thing that backs your statement up. He used some magic kind of thing to create that portal to his "world" right? He never used any type of magic or wind he used against Zelda in this cutscene at all. He had to be holding back heavily throughout the whole battle.
I mean he basically requested a duel with you you. He doesn't do a single thing throughout the duel that you can't do as well. The lighting sword is the closest thing to magic that he does but link can do that too. He fought 100% fair
And with the players as well. Ghirahim was the first boss to beat me in 2 years. The battles against him are hard but in a fun way, and you feel really proud of yourself for beating him.
