FORGOTTEN 1947 Chevy - Will It RUN AND DRIVE Again?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- I have owned this 1947 Chevy for almost 20 years. It's not my first hotrod, but it's the one I've owned the longest. Long story short, I sold all my cars when I bought my first house and I went without a classic car for about a year. This old Chevy was my first classic I owned living on my own. Well time went on and this old car got put in storage and forgotten for years.
You guys have been bugging me for years to get it back on the road. I do love this car and she deserves a little more attention. Let's put some miles on this old girl!

The 47 is just cool needs to go on power tour
The 47 on power tour that would be cool beans 👏👍✌️
We all agree with this all the true fans want to see the 47 on power tour with tunnel ram dual quads and a built nasty 4l60e trans for good high speed ability! Also give Dannie son ac
That 47 is the exact one my grandfather had
@@burningthroughtimegarage3319❤ LP
I'm 199²119/
That thing is better than expected. No chop needed.
Make the 47 hotrod power tour Dan and Dani. Or keep her in the states for visiting
That's not a bad idea
You can keep it at my house!!! I'm in NC. I would not let trees grow over it!
@@DDSpeedShop Power tour, YES! Make it happen Dan.
In my opinion that’s the nicest car you own 👍😀
@@joehishon3305yeah watching him pull this one out of the trees and neglected hurt my heart!!!
I wouldn't chop it, it looks great like it is, those cars are like tanks built solid, they made the seats like living room furniture, huge, it would look cool to see a double blower on it, but that would mess up the hood, I would probably try to find a large piece of land & put a steel building on it to store all my cars, all the cars you have are really priceless 1 is you have taken them from useless to running & they are not making them anymore! But ultimately its your decision! 👍
It almost looks chopped already. I don't think it needs to be chopped at all.
Absolutely with the air ride dropped it gives a custom chop affect even if it’s not there I say leave it be body wise and go full spycho sleeper cruiser lsx or tunnel ram and big 6 speed auto trans power windows and ac make it crazy nice to drive and crazy fun
I love the '47. I say no need to chop the top. Looks cool and you fit in it, as is.
Dan it’s great to see the old car out of the trees 🌲 excited to see what’s in store for it I’m sure whatever you do with it it’s going to be amazing. The old Chevy looks bad ass already
DD Speed Shop is like some old lady that brings home a new stray dog every week. Already has 14 dogs in the house but there is always room for one more.
Gotta save as many as I can
Dude this thing would be perfect for Power Tour 2024 put a new Amazon wiring harness in it over the winter some fresh rubber and an engine dress up kit (maybe a small cam) and boom super cool Power Tour cruiser. You did the 55-57 thing and this is your oldest and longest owned Hotrod it deserves a Tour
You should clearcoat that thing Dan! When you were washing it you could get an idea of how good it would look. 🤙🏼
My 16 year old son and I custom paint vehicles that 47 definitely deserves a custom paint job no patina. We’re so glad this is the last year of patina lol
Amen !
For the air ride solenoid. ask for a "continuous duty". It's like you would use for an electric winch. The Ford solenoids or only good for momentary starter applications.
I scrolled down to write the same thing, but it looks like you have it covered.
Happy Anniversary to Dan & Dani, I wish you two kids many more. You should clear coat that 47, when you washed it it looked really cool with the red popping through.
My vote is no chop. Fix her up and drive it.
I kind of liked the wet look so maybe a clear coat…..who doesn’t try to recreate the car they had as a kid. You still have yours so drive her…
DAN, PLEASE 🥺 🙏 🥺 DON'T CHOP THE 47! The roof line already looks good and I love the style, just cruise it more and get the interior more pimped out!!! Thanks 👍.
Ok,brother. I will not be bum hurt if you do some more videos on this sweet ride. I think the paint on it is perfect and the lines on this car look killer. 👌. I think you have to feel like a gangster cruising in this hotrod.
Love that car! Looks killer. With A/C that’d be a killer power tour ride.
I like this car for obvious reasons (low) but the fact it's one of your first makes it even cooler.
As someone mentioned if the air keeps giving you grief there are a bunch of affordable all in one manifolds that work great.
Excited to see more of this on the channel
I do really dig it, Dan !! Your soo lucky to have so many nice rides !! Keep up the excellent videos, they're very entertaining and I look forward to seeing your shows that you regularly put out. I thank you from your friend and car nut from deep South Texas !!!
I love this car. This is the 3rd time watching it in a month old-school all the way
This had better not be click bait!!!!! You got this car running like a year an a half ago but the squirells are up all all the suspension air lines I love this car want to see it back on the road
🐿🐿
Might be int in kit car, kind of thing I look for to build my own idea
I LOVE IT! She cleaned up so well. Such a cool old girl.
Get some retro style gauges and reinstall the original dash cluster, maybe a retro style steering wheel too. Just my opinion.
I was born in 47, and I LUFF this car. DON'T CHOP IT, PLEASE!
YES, we're old as chit. Love the paintjob just as it is. Clean it, mechanicly fixit, and just drive it.
Love the hub caps! (As oppossed to wheel covers.) Totally Gangsta!
Love your channel and content. Are you allowed to install carports in front of your garages? May be an option to help keep cars protected under roof with minimal expense
Thank you soo much Hot Rod Jesus for this 47!! Been waiting years for this one. Love this car!
Bet Mur would like to have that healey
I offered
@@DDSpeedShop my favorite car on the channel put some mobsteels on it and take it on power tour
Thanks for sharing the 47 Dan! Love the car. P.S. Keep it like it is, don't chop it!
I think this one is the one to give the love to
Speaking as a man who never wants to get rid of anything. I still have my 73 F100 I bought in 1984. I really think you should consider advancing the 47 to an up-and-coming hot-rodder who would love to get his mitts on a running driving vintage automobile. Then devote that time and money to possibly getting the model A further along. Anyway keep doing what you're doing I enjoy the crap out of your content.
Say, the fellas working on the '51 Victoria over at Coldwarmotors could probably use some bits from that flathead V8.
They have it turning over. Matt gave them the valves they needed. Now they were thinking on pulling the motor and cleaning the pickup tube out because it was so full of crap.
@@kennethlaw9830 I know, I watch their vidyas when they come out. That thing could probably use a new cam and a couple pistons the way things looked last time.
You should add the term quadrajet choke in the description so we can use this as a reference. I took my quadrajet apart because it was rusted and then I couldn't get the choke stuff lined up.
Daily it Dan!
I will for a bit
The 47 is super gangster. I freakin love it!
DO NOT CHOP IT....
Yes he should chop it!
@@jamiemoen-bi3gdfuck no, the German helmet body is ugly as fuck chopped
Chop
or not
Happy anniversary D.D. Lots of love your way.
Dan you should have left the Cobra in the shipping container in storage. At least it was super safe there. Or you've got to build more fencing in the back with a large swing out gate . I don't know why you didn't do that in the first place
Yea. Considering his tow truck was already stolen, there's no way I'd leave the Cobra out in the open.
That is one of the coolest cars bar none. A total Candy Apple red paint job with some bright red highlights on the top of the panels would be awesome.
If you're not into the fiberglass body on the kit car, how about sticking the model A body on the chassis?
Different wheelbase
Gas grill covers for those engines just a suggestion end of season sales. The 47 next year power tour car
Neat hot rod Dan
That 47 is my favorite of all the cars you guys own!!! I want it!!
More of the "La Bomba" please.
You have the best taste in rides, Dan! They even get cooler the longer they sit!
Dan, I'm so glad you dug out the 47. It is super cool! An LS swap and power tour would be awesome.
This car is just so cool. Please spend some time on this one. Badass
I wouldn't chop it it looks proportionately correct the way it is
@prostreetchickenhawk
Man. She just fired up and ran. Awesome car. Glad to see this one being freed from the jungle.
How about some shine juice on it ?
39:40 Yeeeeeeesssssss! Shine juice would really bring out that red. That’s a damn cool car. Glad to see it out and about.
Needs Derek's shine juice
Aired out. With caps, steelies, and that paint. Looks awesome.
I vote no on the top chop .😎
Aired out. With caps, steelies, and that paint. Looks awesome.
1) from remembering a no big deal story of a1/2 century ago and some investigation and finding confirmation from the guy that invented the bobcat my gramps was very important in the invention of the bobcat . 2) I can't believe a car rat would put up a fixed fence in the middle of your parking lot ??? Why not have removable panels.?
Definitely want to see more of this car!
Dont chop it, that's a cool car
That 47' looks like a fun project! Excited to watch this build!
no chop !
Seeing the 47 is so cool...quick side note, I work as a mechanic for a trash company here in michigan( Republic services, Big blue trucks) I work with the Air lines and change bags on the trucks. Had to laugh when I saw the air lines. Thank you for bringing out the 47.
The old 47 deserves some modern air controller with height sensors. She'd probably be a really good driver with that, and maybe a swamp cooler.
VGG vibes
Agree, I was immediately thinking "shinejuice"
just LOVE these old beasts - so much fun!!!
I'LL buy THAT for a DOLLAR 😂

"How hard can it be? We've got heavy equipment and no patience." That made me LOL
That cute little smile on Dani (twice) was great editing.
Not my favorite car on your channel, but this was a good video. You didn't leave us hanging.
That 47 is cool as all get out! With the windshield visor, it gives the appearance of being chopped. I'd leave it alone. I don't see a good way to chop it and look as good as it does now in my opinion
Dan you need to find a big shop and get out of those little garages and use them for sweet things like the 57 vert
I bet your overheating problem is due to lack of air circulation.
Ventilate that front tool tray area and the latch area.
I really believe that will help it out.
You’re a great sheet metal man and I love your 4d to 2d conversions!
Rock on dude!!
Move her to the top of the list, and buy her a 572 Cid crate motor. Give her the love she deserves.
Love the factory lines of the 46 roof
I know you are not a paint and body guy , but the 47 needs a cherry red body with a white top, it would look absolutely stunning
I agree with some of the others. This car needs to be seen on power tour next year.
Forgot how big these were, dad had a 48, some years latter I had a 50 Mercury V8 three on the tree, and 3 tons of chrome grill and bumper. A lot fun to drive.
I’ve been waiting to see you drag this thing out and get her running again and you didn’t disappoint. I personally would love to see you upgrade this old gal and make her mean again. Good job Dan! 👍🏻
Love this one, thank you for giving it some love
Hey Dan, I think the 47 is awesome. If you ever want to unload it, get back to me. It would be a great car to go through with my son. Love your channel and videos. Take care and be safe.
Man that 47 looks great with the red bleeding through the black when wet, would be a awesome paint scheme. Enjoyed your video great old hot rod
47 Chevy YEAH
Keep it on.
I'm sorry but I can't stop...I am in absolute love with this car! I mean it looks frickin awesome! This is in my opinion the most beautiful piece of automotive history in the fleet! I mean think about what was going down in "47" this car needs ur love! It has all the potential!
🇨🇦🇺🇲💯✌
Looking at the Sebring reminds me how hard it is to find aluminum daisy wheels. I have just one 14x7 and I doubt I'll ever find a whole set.
I like that, sounds great on the tv. Id like to see that rear plate somewhere else and a little bit of pinstriping.
That 47 chevy is very impressive, your should take it on the next power tour. Your channel is so amazing, I AM A very very huge fan of all your work. Mike Foit from Athens, Ohio
Dan you never cease to amaze me ! What in the world are you going to pull out of the weeds / woodwork/ cracks…. whatever, next?😳
is awesome hope to see more of it thank you for sharing
Glad to see and hear it Run Dan looks great with Water on it
I liked the Healey build. Was excited to see you get the body mounted and make it run and drive. The body didn't look wonky on camera.
Dan!!! When you said chopped, my eyes LIT UP! As soon as I seen it out of the jungle...I THOUGHT CHOPPED! But, I held back on comments until you said it! WE READ EACH OTHER'S MINDS! LOL. I can't explain it, but there are are a few car styles, this being one! That I think look SICK chopped!
I agree with the pancacked look you mentioned, but I KNOW you can make it look sick! Let's go!!!
🇨🇦🇺🇲💯✌
Don't chop roof looks good as it is. Love the channel
I absolutely want to see more gangster Dan. Fix that beautiful, stylish ride. I love those huge front fenders!
Now that's a cool car. I just love how cars were so stylish back then and them curves are things dreams are made of. Curb scrapers and chrome moon hub caps on bags, you really do have great taste.
The 47 is what brought me here I hope she goes to a good home
(Just finished the 2024 father's day video and seen the top less garage in this video. Kind of trippy)
Cool car man. I love the dog dish caps and the white walls! I have a coupe 48 with a big block Chevy, Zoomie's and a tunnel ram, they're cool old rides. Great video as always!
AWESOME 47! I didn't even know you owned it? You are crazy Buddy! Definitely get back on this classic please.
Nice ride Dan you don’t see to many of the old cars much anymore pretty nice to watch ur video thumbs up
Dan, love your Chevy and its rebirth. In my opinion this has the Most potential for becoming a Super Classic Lowrider. Keep driving and improving it.........
Not even joking, the 47 is my favorite of all the cars you’ve had on your channel, it’s so dang gangster and sinister…..😎
Dan i know it is a old one but you need to get on it and make it nice again that thing is 76 years old what a nice old piece Dan you need to fall back in love with it just fix it on this channel paint it sattan black it a bad ass car i am 73 i just love it thanks for this video
The stance is odd. The car is really nice Dan. I think larger rims with nice pair of radial tires might help out the look. I just think a bit of chrome on the wheels... yeah needs larger rims.
Never saw a more perfect power tour car!!
