Years ago I lived in Landisburg and would visit this cemetery alot. Mostly because of all the ghost stories there are about it. Lots of things we saw that and heard that were very strange.
i know this cemetery very well and the settlement. this is know as Henry's valley. i even have many photographs from the village. mostly of the people who were my wife ancestors. pandemonium began when michael henry moved up over the mountain with his son John henry from cunberland valley. this was before the Indians sold? the land for settlement. from then the valley became known as henry's valley. as 4 the idea of it being haunted i have looked into this personally.. finding nothing. i have walked and mapped the whole on video. those wanting more can contact me.
It's a bit of a drive from your area, but the Phillip's Rangers Monument in Bedford County is a very interesting and haunted place. As always, great content, really like hearing about the local history
and i should tell u to that sadie is the only true ghost there uh she will walk the woods at about 12 to 6 in the morning looking for her mom but it is a find that will never happen sadly
Cool video! Christian and Catherine Henry are my 3rd great grandparents. Lots of family buried here. This was fun to watch as I live in Oregon and have never been here. Thanks!
there is a cemetery that has graves from the same period in the town i grew up in western pa. it was unkempt for many years but the town took it upon themselves to restore it. the cemetery looks really great now
I love finding old settler cemeteries out in the middle of the forest. We have quite a few in the Shawnee NF that takes miles upon miles to hike or horseback in order to reach the graveyards. Great video -love videos like this :)
It is said that that those who disturb graves when alive will have their graves disturbed when they die. "Disturb him not lest ye be stirred when ye shall come to die." It is a scummy thing to do, never understood why people would do that.
Keep the great content coming, inspires me for future expeditions myself. I also use some of these to fall asleep as well (Not a diss, honest compliment).
ok a little heads up to you i live in juniata county just off of perry there uh the run a way slave that was shoot by the bear was not the slave the one that was shoot was sadie and yes she was looking for her mom she was out playin one night it got dark she was in the woods she was not from that little village how ever she was over the mountain truly well it was very dark out she wondered way to far from home and ended up in the village what happened she was in a guys back yard by mistake it was about 12 in the morning they where inside the dogs started barking and sadie was in black she saw the dogs and gt scared ad she climbed a tree the guy who saw her thought sadie was a bear grabbed his shot gun and shot her from the tree he walked over it turned out to be a little girl and that little girl was sadie know the village story s that some thing happened to there water from the strem and well the water was not tested the water was gross and dirty and full of bactereia and so tehy did not care i think and well the towns folks got very sick and well they died and the story of the maid is not cemetary i dont remember which one it was
Hi! I'm an empath and have had a VERY strong connection with whomever Sadie may be since my first visit there. The ONLY time I'm not sick is when I'm there! I'd LOVE any other information you have or if you possibly know any old folks my husband could contact to talk to. He's a Henry! We have the ancestry DNA kits to track the lineage... But that's kinda boring stuff, I like the "My grandpa told me" kinda stuff! Thanks ahead of time!

We were there today (and yesterday). My wif's great great (X whatever) grandfather was Daniel David Henry, and grave is the one with the pointing hand that you looked at 5:09. We could not determine what that stone outside the yard with all the stuff left on it was - there is no writing whatever on it. There is even more stuff on it now. There is also a historic plaque with photos there now, explaining about the town. Nothing about the escaped slave, however. We went to the tunnel, too, and hiked the Hemlock Natural Area, and camped at Fowler's Hollow SP.
Trees fall and break tombstones all of the time.. I can see kids drinking and partying, but if it was vandallism all of the tombstones would be broken..
I was just here yesterday and got pics and readings as well. There are spirits that come through to communicate. I didn't spend long here but ill be going back at night soon this summer. Ive never posted on here but I might start
Thats absolutely not true. Historically, they might not have received funeral rights or a marker; they might have been buried in a far corner, up against the wall or something, or sometimes in the case of stillborn infants, in the coffin of another recently deceased person. But Catholic doctrine states in simple terms that all persons when deceased must be buried in consecrated ground, (more recently this includes those who have been cremated too) and even go as far as to perform/allow burials of non-Catholic/other Christian denominations, in Catholic cemeteries if there is space. And that includes those who havent been baptised, those who have committed crimes, those who have taken their own lives.... To not bury ANYBODY in consecrated or other specifically designated ground, regardless of their religious denomination or lack thereof, goes completely against Catholic doctrine.

73 degrees in July? Sounds so nice. But on another note, this is a very interesting video.

Beautiful cemetary! So sad about the slave girl.

What a sad story about the slave girl, the cemetery itself is actually kept really nice. Thank you. x
I live in North Eastern Pa, ever ventured my way? Great video.
Pandemonium from all the birdsong?
The little girls name wasn't Sadie though
A nostalgic kind of creepy beauty.
We have been there many times and even harvested chanterelles :)
You should check out the haunted Fallbrook Cemetery in Tioga County next time you're up here to visit.
i love the stone walls i don't know how they make the wall so it's still standing today always love the history until next time
Last time I was there I found an orchid growing along the trail behind the cemetery on the way to the ruins.
Excellent video....one of my favorite kinds. You do excellent work!
"Back then, they shot first"... hmm, not much has changed.🤷🏾♂️
@My account you tell me
accounts maybe bc it's wrong? I bet your the type of person that would raise your kids to be fearful and ignorant.
In the Catholic faith, if you pass before being baptized you cannot be buried in the cemetery, no matter what the reason.
