She died on her wedding day when she fell down the steps of the church right after she was married. Born and raised in Lancaster and that's what my parents told.

I know that cemetary well. Family plot on my fathers side is located there. Back
in the summer of 1967 I was taking a summer school class at McCaskey High
School down New Holland Pike (Rte 23) there. My bus from East Petersburg
would stop on Lemon Street early in the morning. It is a large cemetary. Rather
than walk several blocks all the way around the perimeter - which was fenced
with a very difficult to climb, high, iron spike fence - we would climb over the
iron spike fence with great difficulty to take a big short cut through the cemetary .

I drive past this cemetery everyday. I have seen her head turn, maybe just be my brain but who knows.

Her name was kept as Bitner on the tombstone because her family didn't approve of her husband and it was a snub. He should have done some simple research. Not hard to find

it's odd that the face, and I mean just the face, is dark and the rest of the statue is snow white

If she would have placed her hand on your shoulder this video would have gone viral! I don't know if it would have been her hand on your shoulder or you breaking all human sprinting records. I have been to this cemetery and all the others in Lancaster. Gen. Reynolds, the highest ranking officer killed at Gettysburg is also buried in his hometown of Lancaster. His marker is a large stone carved tree stump. So many haunted stories. But the Lightning speed of the WW would have been the story of stories. Thank you kindly Cliff! DaveyJO

      @@thewanderingwoodsman7227 gone certifiable, eh?
As long as it wasn't dark outside I'd be able to handle it. No pun intended .
But this tale reminds me of Black Aggie in Baltimore, later moved to DC .

She seems to be depicted with a "baby bump" as a woman would/could have after the birth of a baby. Cliff, gotta get a bigger umbrella. Stay dry.

Have you ever done a video of the Evans City Cemetery where they shot the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD? If not, you should probably do one.

I think they were called the weeping angels and appeared in several Dr Who episodes, all very creepy.

we have a similar statue in one of our cemeteries who is also purported to turn its head, weep, etc. Pretty much folk lore and not to be taken too literally. Darn noisy traffic kinda ruin ambiance.

The Bitner name is on the grave marker. It's hard to see on the video, but it says Augusta Harriet, daughter of (can't see the name) Bitner.
