Bashir gets much better as the show goes on. He ended up being my favorite character. He's forced to grow up pretty fast. Alexander Siddig is awesome anyway.

Smile and be kind to people when talking about my religion and blindly follow it. She never developed as a character. Even after experiences of seeing things from the enemy's point of view she just slumps back into those first two actions.

I recently re-watched the Pilot Episode(s) of DS9 this morning. It brought tears to my eyes. I appreciated with the Prophit/Orb Entity asked Captain Cisco that if he lives in Linear Time, why does he still dwell in his traumatic past? That hit me in the heart and the message was powerful. Peace.
I really like this video. Its kind of funny timing for me. Today I was thinking that when PIcard and the Enterprise sail away at the beginning of DS9 it is the emotional equivalent of watching your mom drive away on the first day of school. Its so sad. However I grew to love DS9.

Another comment from me. I like that you guys treat Star Trek how it should be. Calmly. Lol, there was no shouting, Scotty and TJ didnt argue. It was just a productive talk and breakdown of these episodes. I really liked that. You guys disagreed, but moved on. Really great. And I really like some of scotty comments. EDIT: I Cant wait until you guys get to the episode where some of the crew gets stuck in that game cube. One of my all time faves.
I watched some of TNG when it was on TV in the 90's and liked it but wasn't a big star trek fan. So 2 or 3 years ago I ended up watching all the episodes of TNG on Netflix then went on a binge of every star trek minus the original and I'm a huge fan now! I really hope you keep this as a series and do the other star trek series.
DS9 is still my favorite TV series, and it's always interesting hearing the different perspectives on it. Strangely enough, Bashir was one of the first characters that got me interested n the show (though he was rapidly replaced as a favorite, but people like Dukat, Garak, Kira, Sisko, Jadzia etc.); but I admit that he really didn't start bringing in a personality that really pulled people to him, until they brought in stories like his family secret.
Its called "The Riker Affect". Riker had to trade sitting down for his beard. He could only put his feet on chairs or lean to the left whilst walking, but in return got laid all the time, even that rival Kirk, and still remained SSTD free for 7 yrs. Sisko had to trade the affro for the goatee. Got the defiant and looked badass in return. But Jake was the real price.
Good. I like hearing people's insights into this amazing series. Please continue doing more. Paul, just remember, it's pronounced "Car-dass-ian" not "Car-dash-ian."
The actor that played LtJG Bashir, nailed the actions of a new doctor very well. As a medic in the military I have seen Jr medical officers act very similar, smart, young and eagerly waiting to practice expeditionary medicine often = annoying. At least he is not an A hole, he never Lord's his officer position over the Chief and that's something. He gets better in time, I love how much of a boot he started out as it was a good fit for DS9.:-)
Yes you should definitely go on to cover the entire show. If you do, this will make like the fifth or sixth series on the Internet right now that's covering DS9.

Yep, I think they actually wanted Ro Laren to be on DS9 but they created Kira Nerys because Ro's actor wasn't interested.

DS9 the best of all Trek series. in 1999 when it went off I was so sad, but Farscape came along and that helped a lot.

you really have to push through the first two seasons in my opinion. There are some really incredible episodes in DS9.
DS9 hit its golden age in like season 5 or 6 (which ever involved that multisided war and later the Dominion occupation of the Cardassians)
When Sisko gets the goatee and goes bold, thats when the series ramps up.
That's really the case with every Trek series, tbh. Except for TOS, of course.
