Love to see y’all doing new videos. It’s funny that every new video you’ve done recently, is something I’ve been practicing or playing around with recently. almost like ur in my head! Love all ur products!!!
Another great video! With regards to the drop coat, would you also need to do this if you'd mixed wicked aluminium into the candy for either a final coat or a mid coat? Thanks.
A mid-coat is usually applied any time painting with a pearlescent or metallic color, even when mixed with a candy color. Unless the candy-metallic looks perfect before so doing, apply a drop-coat. Thank you.
Good job. I can tell that the aluminium is very similar to the real deal. I would like to thank you for the candy grabber orange over black paint question I had the other day. I have a motorcycle paint job im looking forward to this winter. He wants it black gloss and nothing else. Im going to try doing the black candy over the black gloss if i can convince him it might look cool. Can you do a Demonstration of black candy over different base colors?
Could the sealer benefit with 4050 mixed in for a higher end gloss (airbrush - smallere parts) ? Ratios ? How about that video about polish the 4050... And for my own interest. Polish model resin cars 1:24 : 1:25 so they can get that Createx shine ;) !
Generally, AutoBorne Sealer do not require mixing with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear for improved adhesion & durability as do Createx paints. While 4050 can be mixed with AutoBorne Sealer, we don't recommend it. If trying a mix, add 4050 ~ 20% per volume to Sealer, Sealer 4:1 4050, thin 5% - 15% per volume with 4011 Reducer. Thank you.
I'm trying to fix road rash on my 2010 Honda Civic daily driver. The scratches are deep enough I filled some with spot putty, just big enough that touch up paint from a brush won't do the job, but still too small for taking to a body shop. I tried painting with actual touchup pen paint mixed with reducer. First mistake was watching a video on some other channel that said acetone worked well for thinning paint, so now I have a slightly bigger paint job. A couple of my other problems are, where I'm located, I have to paint outdoors, but I'm not allowed to rattle can. What I do have is a USB portable airbrush, 0.3 mm nozzle, 18 psi. I was able to get touchup pen paint to flow with a proper reducer, but it came out looking uneven, mottled, clogged a lot, and as you can imagine, I need to clear it all off and put a proper primer/sealer down. The original paint number on my Honda is NH700M, Alabaster Metallic Silver. Probably 6013 Silver Sealer regardless of color choice. Should I go with Wicked Colors W351 Metallic Silver and maybe add a little W360 Metallic White mixed in for a proper match along with the 4011 reducer and 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, or because of the airbrush limitation, mix Illustrated Colors 5068, 5078, and 5074 Opaque black, white, and blue along with the 4011 and 4050?
Please make a few test panels to try the various colors before painting your Honda. Perhaps simply using 6013 silver Sealer will work well for the touch-up. If not, other silvers such as Wicked W351 alone will work. Make a few tests to see what best matches the OEM silver. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors Thanks for your reply. Fortunately, I've put together the capital that I will now be taking my Honda to a local professional Autobody and Paint shop with a very good reputation for quality work. I will however, retain everything I've learned from your videos for any future event where I need to do minor touchup, or if I need to help a friend with their own decision. In that case I will highly recommend your products snd videos. I'll have to look into taking an art class now that I've got a tiny airbrush, in which case your product line will definitely find use. Once again, thank you.
I'm thinking of going with an air gun like you're using. Does it clean up like a regular air brush. Do you use new cans and strainer ever time or do you clean them. I don't deal with the large quantity's you do, what would be the next smallest gun you could use that would posibly be bigger than a regular air brush?
You may enjoy using the Iwata TH2 or the larger LPH-80. For more information about the best spray-guns for Createx paints, please see our spray-gun video, ua-cam.com/video/r5gHK0iZQTw/v-deo.html. Thank you.
You guys should make a gold sealer similar to the silver with the flake in it would be awesome cuz I find myself using the silver for ever project I've done haha
Can you mix 4050 with the black airborne auto sealer to get a black gloss base coat to then shoot quicksilver followed by a candy color to achieve an anodized looking finished product?
Yes. Mix 4050 ~ 4:1 6002 AutoBorne Sealer Black, thinning with 4011 Reducer as needed, generally ~ 10% per vol. For the candy2o, mix 4050 with candy2o generously, for an anodized finish, a mix ratio ~ 4050 6:1 candy2o works well. Top-coat with a gloss clear; we recommend a 2k gloss clear for an anodized candy finish. Thank you.
Chris ... you always put the sealer coat on bare metal .. but if I've had to do body work and put down a 2k primer sealer .. can this seal coat go down right on that, to say get the candy color desired color effects ?
Yes, Wicked Aluminum is the same as 4102 Aluminum Medium. In the coming year, more pearls and metallics from from Auto Air will cross-over to Wicked Colors. Thank you.
4011 Reducer, first introduced in 2003, is slower (less aggressive) compared with 4012 Reducer, introduced 2008. 4011 works better with our candy2o, and urethane resin products such as 4030 Balancing Clear and new UVLS Clears. 4012 works well in more humid areas, and we'll continue to make it as long as regulations permit, to which 4012's solvent-alcohol, 2-Butoxy Ethanol, was classified as a level 3 health risk, whereas 4011 is a level 2. We'll keep 4012 available "off catalog" for subjective artist & airbrush preferences, and for assisting drying in humid conditions where 4011 & 4012 mixed 1:1 works well. more so with airbrush application. Hope this helps. For more, please refer to the tech data sheets at creatextech.com/. Thank you.
4011 Reducer is better, especially when applying candy2o as a mid-coat. For a complimentary 4011 Reducer, please email us at info@createxcolors.com. Thank you.
Excelentes videos lastima que son en idioma inglés, más o menos los entiendo, seria bueno que tuvieran subtitulos en español. Muchas felicidades es un buen pintor.
For so long, videos said used 4012, now it's back to 4011 reducer. It used to be mix candy with 4030, then it was bleed checker, now it's clear. I know you are constantly evolving, but it gets confusing at times when the instructional videos contradict each other.
Hello. The best way to understand our products is to start with its Technical Data Sheet available at creatextech.com/. Our older videos do recommend the reducer and related products relevant at the time they're made. As new products are introduced and application information evolves, some older videos may feature products no longer recommended. Most of these videos contain information that the featured product, such as 4012 Reducer, is no longer recommended and has been replaced by 4011 Reducer. Thank you.
Great stuff! It's always good to watch tutorials to refresh the memory.
thanks!

huge help.. I've used aluminum before but I didn't understand why it was different from Silvers... now I get it. Thank you!!
Awesome, thanks for letting us know this video helped!
Can you spray your base coat color on a non createx color primer? for example Speedokote Primer?

Hi Chris
Would you use the silver sealer as a primer coat on a plastic model?
Yes, AutoBorne Sealer is our recommended sealer-primer for application direct to plastic. Thank you.

Haaa never-mind you answered the question by the end of the video
Are those just plastic cards painted half black and half white to start?
They're glossy, heavy paper stock cards that are black / white, we use the Leneta Opacity spray-out card. Thank you.
Really enjoy these videos! Thanks 🙏🏻
I’ve never seen or used Wicked Aluminum before.. Is it the same as the AA Aluminum medium?
Yes, Wicked Aluminum is the same as 4102 Aluminum Medium. In the coming year, more pearls and metallics from from Auto Air will cross-over to Wicked Colors. Thank you.
can i use that spray gun to paint motorcycle fairings ...
Yes, The Iwata LPH-80 is a good gun for helmets and bike fenders & tank. Use a 1.2mm E4 cap with Createx paints. Thank you.
