With all that going on between US and China I'm happy to see such a collaboration between Xiaomi & Google. I have the Google Home Mini (not the Nest, the older one) that I got for free when I preordered the Pixel 2 XL (which is lately dying slowly sadly) and when I got it I thought I will review it and probably give it away or something. But I ended up using it every single day and started to get some smart things and it really changes things at home, not to mention I can always ask the assistant on the phone to broadcast a message home and many others. So if someone is sceptic if he needs such a device at home, you just need to try it to understand, and for such prices, I think it's a pretty good deal!
Seeing this comment today, after what has been announced a few days back - it's ... weird. So far it doesn't sound like too bad for Xiaomi thing, but noone knows how far this will go.
hi thanks for the review. a question, do you know if it's possible creating a multiroom speakers (with 2 speakers) and play music by phone with chromecast?
Okay, you know what is weird?! You didn't set off my phone (right next to me) even once! This should not be a surprise since there is the voice training thing that is supposed to make you respond only to my voice. However, every day, I get multiple false triggers! When I'm speaking, when others are speaking or when nobody is speaking... and it's not necessary to say any of the OK, hey and google words, sometimes it is totally random... Very annoying! (it is a Mi 9T Pro btw, so it is sorta related and not completely off-topic :D)
Ha, yeah, these devices might be weird. We recently had fun with Siri - a friend of mine has now an Apple watch and was showing me how randomly it gets activated.
I wonder if this would also prioritize your assistant to get activated on the speaker instead of your phone when they are in the same room as the google home speakers do?
@@TechMishka Hey, I'm encountering a new problem where the smart speaker seems to have difficulty controlling Yeelight lights and other smart devices. Any troubleshooting tips?

This is an awesome speaker for my little apartment. Lows mids and highs are spot on.
Totally! 👍👍
Great video! I wonder if they will stay paired indefinitely in stereo mode. I’m going to watch out for a xiaomi subwoofer.
Ha, a woofer will turn it into a beast!
Two words: Chromecast audio.

Hello, can I normally tell the Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker, via Google Assistant, to play a song from Spotify and it will play it?
Sure
can you use spotify etc without premium order?
I think so. I've used my spotify account and it's from the free type.
I wonder if this would also prioritize your assistant to get activated on the speaker instead of your phone when they are in the same room as the google home speakers do?
Not sure about this, mate.
Well done for your vídeo!
Thanks Mike!
I have been waiting for a Google home from Xiaomi finally
Yeah, me too! If only it has 3.5mm output...
Just as Google have announced they're retiring the Max!
Quick Question: can this speaker connect to multiple smartphones? TIA
Sure.
Hello. If you have like 5 of these, can they play the same music all at the same time?
I'm only four speakers short on confirming. But I think so.
Can I connect this xiaomi smart speaker to my bigger Harman kardon speaker via Bluetooth?
Nope.
Does anyone know of any good methods to wall mount a Xiaomi speaker?
You know, just like the sonos has.
Nah, this one is not meant to be mounted like that. Probably if you use some ood looking small wooden holder?
i moved from echo dot 3 to xiaomi smart speaker.. i think echo dot had better sound but the lack of youtube music was a deal breaker..
Yeah, this is a must-have feature these days.
This vs the Google nest mini 2nd gen. Which one?
Haven't tested the Nest Mini gen2 myself.
I hope they make it in black with bronze speaker grill!
Ha, this would be a nice looking combo.
Does anyone know why the speaker might get stuck with the light blinking after a command
Hmm, never had that :\

Is it better than Google home speaker?
I don't have the Google Home speaker, so it wouldn't be fair to give any opinion. Anyone else?
No battery?
Nope.
Wwo what accent is this?
Bulgarian, I guess 😇
