Pene, I wish that I could live in your world, as it looks so peaceful. Magical footage of Scilly Isles. I love how you appreciate your family & lifestyle. Your vlogs are so comforting, many thanks.
Ah, another gentle visit with Pene in the garden. Thank you for sharing the sunshine and flowers. I'm so glad that you've finally given in to the temptation of Mouche & friends. Or should I say PJ & pals? I've been hoping to see you knit a few more toys. You have a charming way with them. Till next time, happy knitting.
PJ and pals, great name! He's been neglected as I've been away for a few days and was hoping to find the odd five minutes to keep creating but no. Such a lovely treat. Tell you next episode. xx
Hi Pene, Lovely to spend a quiet half hour with you before bed. The colours in your granddaughter's shaw are gorgeous. Pete's polar bear is coming to life as you knit. Beautiful pics of precious family time. The little ones grow so quickly. Our little one starts school in a couple of weeks. Things have been a little tough here, with Andy's dad being poorly. Thankfully, this week he has improved. Crocheting a blanket for my friends 60th birthday has kept me occupied. Rediscovering a love of embroidery is a distraction . Have a lovely week, take care. X
Hi Angela, Hoping Andy's dad is still improving and the blanket is coming along nicely! I love to embroider, the colours you work with can be so soothing. Till next time. xx
Oh Pene. I love the bear. I've just finished my first mouse from knitted animal friends. I brought her to meet my best friend who's a fantastic knitter. Well my friend suprised me by presenting me with a complete set of clothes for her, even a little knitted pocket book. It was just so lovely of her, I feel so blessed to have such a good friend, and now my mouse sits on my desk and makes me smile every time I see her. I immediately started another mouse. Maybe as my skills grow I will attempt that bear 😊
Wonderful! All that beautiful sunny weather....so looking forward to Summer. I could watch those squirrels all day long, so cute. Mouche is looking great, well done you, love it. 😊
It’s been so lovely to catch up with you again, now that I am home again from our longest campervan trip yet! Isn’t the Mouche and Friends book just brilliant? I can see that you understand that feeling of bonding with the new character as he is being knitted - that little face is just willing you to keep going! PJ is going to be absolutely gorgeous and I’m so glad that Pete has been well and truly won over by the increasing number of knitted animals that you’ve made! Beautiful photography, as always, of flowers and wildlife and Bryer- and such delicious colours in the current shawl that you have been knitting (and probably finished by now!) Thank you, Pene xx
So pleased you had a lovely long trip away. Will set you up for the winter, although it feels like summer at the moment. PJ is getting his legs at the moment so he can make a trip away with us! Welcome home. xx
This has been such a delightful visit with you again. It is such a delight to get a chance to just “catch up” with you a little. Loved the films you included - must say the hedgehog and the swan both stole my heart. (The great-grandchildren already have a special place in my heart.) Until the next time. Salam wa sa’aadah
Hello Penelope. So lovely to catch up with you again. Your films were beautiful and I so love the squirrels scampering up the tree and the one who was watching you was precious. Take care and see you in September. xx PS I agree this year, especially the past few months have flown by.
PJ is already showing his character. He has a great face. I love the color selection for the yellow shawl. Such a happy colorway. The expression on George was indeed hilarious! I too have acquired a couple things from grandma's house that I just grew up with. Do I need them, no. But I can relive some happy memories when I see or use them. Just ordinary things. Thanks for sharing your holiday videos. I've enjoyed seeing them. I just had a laugh, remember how you would cringe when the neighbor brought out the slide projector of vacation pictures? But I have enjoyed yours. Not cringe worthy at all. Take care and see you soon.
You're right - I'm really enjoying working with the yellow wool. Not a colour I often use but it's super to work with. Yes, just ordinary things but so precious - often the way. I'm glad my holiday snaps are not cringe worthy! My dad used to groan when people showed him their holiday snaps - he was known for it! Take care, sorry for the late reply but I've been away for a few days. Tell you all about it next episode!
Hi pen nice to see you in your lovely garden the shawl your knitting is beautiful an your quilt exquisite an thank you for filming wild life you make it so interesting will look forward to your next one in September ❤ x
Hi Pene Once again you have produced a gorgeous episode! The music perfectly suits the images and your photos are outstanding. The clip of the squirrel watching you with folded arms is delightful! Have been watching your other recent episodes and intending to comment on those amazing shawls you are knitting. How generous of you. They will certainly be treasured by your family. Love how you so carefully and thoughtfully choose colors for each person. I bought the Mouchie book a few months ago and also planned to save it for winter knitting. Now that you have started, i am even more inspired. My grandson (who will be 9 on 9/15 and stays with us three days a week during the summer and also all week during camp weeks) starts back to school on 8/31. Am looking forward to having my knitting time back. It's tiring for this 59 yr old Grammie to play GIJoe's, star wars and construction stuff weeks on end! My attempts at diverting his attention worked for a bit but the attempts to get him back to knitting failed! Thankfully he likes art and reading and walks, swimming and biking. I wish you luck on your colorway sweater. Your colors are lovely. Spincycle Yarns is just over an hour away from me, in Bellingham, WA. If you flew you could come stay with us and I could take you there as well as several other wonderful knit shops in our area. I am knitting the Alpine Bloom sweater by Caitlin Hunter, which also calls for Spincycle. I substituted a different yarn because of low availability here. What was available was too dark. Your choice is lovely and will suit your coloring. Not too bright for a bright Pene! Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. Lovely images and good info regarding how to get there and what to do while on the islands. We think we are going to York later this year, and maybe ending our trip at Pompeii. I turn 60 this year, my husband did last year, so we are using those milestones as our rationale to spend a few weeks abroad. If you have any recommendations regarding York I would love to hear them! I have an old book about the Snickleways which we hope to explore while there, as well as visit the Norse museum and of course the cathedral. Well, I better end this. Could write you about all kinds of stuff. As you share on your end, I am forever saying "Me, too!" in agreement, or exclaiming over something you are showing but of course you can't hear or know that. Just know you are making a difference and you are a very interesting person. Thank you for putting yourself out there. Ronna
Well, I love you writing about all kinds of stuff Ronna! I'm afraid I've only been to York for an afternoon so can't really help you there. It is super having grandchildren, a time so special, but also lovely to get your knitting time back too! The A|pine Bloom may have to go on my list, it's growing! Thanks for the invite - if only! Those squirrels are wonderful aren't they. Chasing round the tree and one just ups and sits quietly eating. Their faces were a picture! Pompeii will be marvellous. We went to Herculaneum as we were told it was less touristy. throughly enjoyed it. See you next time. xx
Thanks...loved it all!!! George's funny look, the knitting and the heavenly videos. The bear is so precious and indeed is watching eagerly and impatient to find himself whole. I am convinced he will come to life as you finish his last stitch. Michigan has beautiful weather now, too, but we can sense the approach of fall and the children returned to school this week.
Slow work on PJ as I've been away for a few days. Not even a stitch, he must be in early hibernation! I've enjoyed a little special break after sorting the house and everything that has had to be done. More of that next episode! Enjoy your lovely weather. xx
Hi Penny you are so good at knitting the animals. My owl looks under stuffed May have to redo 😢. Using the DPNs is tricky. Lovely to see your garden 🪴😃
Hi Zena, There is a knack to stuffing - not too much and not too little. I used kapok for mine and it has settled. I spend an afternoon giving them a good meal, a fiddly job!!
Hello, newish to your channel. Lovely vlog, your pictures and videos are beautiful. PJ is very cute, though he may not like to be told that :). Can’t wait to see him finished. I am so sorry for your loss 🥹 the Diamond quilt is exceptional. I’m sure your parents loved it.
I’ve been watching your back episodes and I can’t believe you’re related to Roisin Ingle. I live in Dublin and I love reading her column in the Irish Times. Small world 🙂
Your video was delightful. Thanks.
Thanks Kathy, a special place. xx
So beautiful. Thank you Pene for taking us along your week and travels. It always does my heart good 🥰
Thanks Sandra, so kind. xx
So lovely. You are brilliant at taking photos and videos especially of nature. It's so lovely to watch. Thank you for doing this.
You're most welcome Helen. xx

Thanks Patricia, so glad you enjoy my slices of life!
Lovely. You have a great eye for composition . Loved the thrush and the views. Thanks. Jane

You have such a beautiful family. Always lovely to see them and the growing babies. ❤
