You will be so very happy when all the decorating is done and your home is back to normal. How lovely everything will look. Pete must love his home knitted socks. They look so cosy and warm. Take care Penelope. xx
Hi Pene lovely to catch up with you ❤Thanks for the demonstration of short rows it was very helpful.Your bedroom wallpaper is beautiful can’t wait to see it all when you’ve finished.Take care and see you next time 😊
Hi Pene. It's so lovely to see you. I've finally had the chance to sit quietly and watch. Andy's dad sadly passed away on Tuesday evening. This week has been emotional and tiring. Hope you and the family are well. Take care. Xx
Oh so sorry Angela. I know he came home and felt more comfortable in his own chair. How sad for you all and yes so tiring, all the different emotions surfacing. Give yourself space if you can and look after yourself. Sending love. xx
It is always such a pleasure to have another episode to watch. You certainly have been very busy, so thank you for taking the time to film. I hope that you soon have your crafting space back, but your bedroom is going to be lovely and that paper is stunning. Also, I always say wool! Best wishes.
So busy I don't know where my head was, I didn't even introduce myself. Ah well, no airs and graces for sure! Wool it is then and best wishes to you too.
How lovely to see you again Pene! I loved the place where you chose to sit for this episode! An excellent choice of anniversary gifts. Talking of winding wool reminded me of the same advice that my Grandma gave me when I used to wind wool for her when I was a child - I always had to wind the next strands of the ball over two or three fingers so that when I removed my fingers, there wouldn’t be too much tension on the wool (if that makes sense!) Great fishy fact and a lovely walk, too - thank you! x
What brilliant advice given to you as a child. I found it very interesting. It's what I used to do too. Thinking about it, as a child I couldn't have wound it too tightly anyway. It was lovely to go out on such a sunny day and get a few errands done. See you soon. xx
It's been so nice to see you Pene! The shawls are so lovely and Pete's socks look warm. Enjoyed your short row tutorial! I would have loved having a teacher like you!! Enjoyed the video at the end too! Take care! ❤
Thanks for joining me Debbie, yes, Pete loves any socks I knit him, he's so appreciative. So pleased you enjoyed me showing you how I do the short rows. I never think I will forget how to do them and then I have to remind myself again if it's been a little while. See you soon. xx
Hello Pene. So good to see you and your beautiful view from your window. I'm only just catching up with you and am so glad I haven't missed you showing how to do short rows. It makes so much more sense when you see someone actually doing it. Thank you so much! Like you it's been busy busy here. We've had family over from Australia which has been lovely. 😊 Take good care of yourselves 🥰
I'm so glad I found your podcast today, it was so lovely to spend time with you. Thank you so much for the instructions on the short row increases. The shawls are gorgeous. The footage at the end was great, you live in a beautiful place. I have subscribed, so I look forward to seeing you again.
Thanks for joining me. I decided to knit a shawl for all the women in my family and you have viewed when I am now making the last one. Seven or eight in total I think. There is a playlist should you be interested. See you soon. xx
What a super update video. The view from your bedroom window is amazing. Many congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Love the gifts you gave each other. I have a Kitchen Aid hand whisk & really like it. The short row tutorial was useful as I’ve plans to work a similar shawl pattern. Not done much knitting lately as I’ve fallen down a new rabbit hole…diamond painting! Can’t believe how utterly relaxing the craft is. Got a few keyring kits off Amazon to give it a go & now I’m going to do a proper painting. Got the bug after watching Sammies Whichcrafts video about it. Happy crafting Dianne 😀
Thanks Dianne How exciting to fall down a rabbit hole; its lovely to have different crafts to do, so relaxing for the brain. My brain is scrambled at the moment having workmen in but there will be an end to it so need to work on patience. Glad the short rows demo was useful. Having done so many shawls now it is firmly in my brain but I did have to keep reminding myself of it at first! See you soon.xx
Good morning from 🇨🇦. A lovely chatty catch up. Your bedroom wallpaper is stunning, can’t wait to see the curtains. The view behind you is stunning. And what a lovely husband who wants to visit woollen mills - he certainly knows how to make you happy. Congrats on 55 years of marriage. 🎉🎊🍾.
Morning, Evening here - five pm. I do love the wallpaper and can't wait myself for the curtains. I'll let you know when they've arrived. I really laughed when Pete said that about the woollen mills but he meant it! See you soon. xx
Hi Pene, So lovely to see you and know that you are well! That's great! Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! Indeed you are the luckiest wife to have a husband like Pete with him wanting just a toaster and taking you to spinning mills! How lovely! Take care and until next time! Greetings from New Zealand, Marina
Belated congratulations for your 55th wedding anniversary. I love the gifts you both chose. I hope Pete doesn’t wear that toaster out too quickly. Hope you get to go on your Wool Mills tour one day soon. It’s a lovely idea. Great to see you again Pene. Michelle 🇦🇺
So lovely to see you again. Such a lot of wonderful things happening around you. You will love it when everything is finished and you have your space back ❤
Love all your work they are beautiful. Purchased wool to knit one but was struggling with the short rows. Till this evening when you showed me how to make them . Thank you so much ❤
I’ve missed you - not that you have been a while - but I’ve had life interfere with my time to watch. For now - - - I’m back. Loved spending time with you again. The shawls are beautiful. I do love a crescent shape in a shawl. Until the next time. Salam wa sa’aadah
Well, I've missed you too. You've a few to catch up on, my life interfered too. Knitting the shawls has been a comfort, beautiful wool, thinking of the person I'm knitting for, and two patterns that have become so familiar I don't have to think too much. Take care of yourself. xx
You have been busy! I liked watching you knit. I need to ask my neighbor to help me knit as I am not very good. Much more a crochet person at this point. I hope you how a before and after of your bedroom. I like that sage green color and wallpaper print. The picture window behind you looks like a painting. So beautiful. Interesting about the fish. A lady was just telling me about her son who had an eye removed due to cancer and they used coral to help form a replacement! It made me think of you and your fascinating facts and how they apply lessons learnt to create new solutions. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you are doing well and escaped any serious harm from recent storms. See you next time.🤗
How interesting about the coral, it is marvellous how we can learn from a fish and use natural things to help us. Yes, the storm wasn't so dreadful for us except a short trip away to Dartmoor with my daughter had to be cancelled as it would have been dangerous. Never mind we can look forward to it for next time. Take care. xx
So nice to watch your episode this morning, varied as always. Your shawls are beautiful and you filmed a very clear tutorial on short rows. How exciting to have all the work being done on your home. It will be wonderful to get your special things all in place when it is done.
You're right, it will be worth it in the end. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the tutorial - well, me showing how I do wrap and turn short rows. Thanks for joining me. xx
Thanks for the Pene fix! Congratulations on your anniversary, such an accomplishment these days. And you both seem to still like each other! My parents will be celebrating their 67th at the end of this month. Your wallpaper is gorgeous BTW. So lovely. As is your new wool. You have wonderful taste! Hopefully you will take us along on your wool mill tour. 😉
Hello what a great day it is to see you.I say wool, and yes flushing the chain.Your view from your window is pretty.Love and light to you and Pete.xx🐝🐝
Happy anniversary. You did make me laugh when you started talking about your toilet as unless your viewers had watched my video they wouldn't have a clue how you went from talking about wool/yarn to talking about pulling the chain! When that tree's been chopped down how wonderful it will be to have a view of the sea. I look forward to seeing your throw knitted up with all those skeins. That's a lot of knitting. X
I thought the same when I watched it back.!! I didn't even introduce myself - never mind, perhaps I'll get better in time !! The tree exploded this year which is why it has to go. Won't be long and the leaves will be gone. I agree, I don't think I'll ever get to the end of the blanket. I couldn't resist Anne's destash! xx
Hello Pen Good To Hear Your On The Mend From Shingles There Not Good I’ve Had Them Twice Now, I’m Loving The Paper On Your Bedroom Is It William Morris !!!! Thank You For The Explanation Of Short Rows, I’m A Visual Learner So That Was A Big Help, Till Next Time Happy Crafting 🪡🧵✂️🤗💕
It is so good to find you back!!! I have been waiting patiently, and like the others, hoping it meant only that you were busy. Your window and view are beautiful...a wonderful way to get through your dreaded month of October (if I am remembering correctly). The color palette sounds so restful and pretty. Michigan has provided a very nice October and temperatures for the winter are expected to be mild this year. May it be the same for you.
What a stunning bedroom. It is going to look beautiful when decorated & such lovely views from the windows. Your facts about the fish tell us that man has so much to learn from nature's ingenious ways. Happy to see & listen to you once again Pene.
Lovely podcast. Nice to see you. Having things done on the home is always trickier than we think it's going to be. I hoped to watch the podcast and get some knitting done on my dk socks but the cat came and sat on my lap and plonked himself on top of the knitting too! See you soon. Jane xx
hi pene! so good to see you today - i was just thinking this morning that it would be nice to. so funny, i'm knitting almost the very same shawl - mine is called Mikazuki (on rav), with the same short rows, which i was doing as you were doing yours! i think i told you i'm on a doris day movie binge on youtube - hope you'll share that story you mentioned next vlog - cheers! libby
How are you getting on with your new winder & swift? Wondering if you could possibly do a demo of it. Thinking of it being a Christmas present from hubby. Like you we’ve been married a long time & don’t need frivolous unnecessary presents. I currently have a cheap plastic winder, the red & white one. It’s served me well for years but getting a bit clunky now. Regarding my swift I’ve never used an umbrella one but the sometimes referred as an Amish swift which I like. Dianne 😀
Hello Pennelope can I ask you as you have made a lot of Louise Crowthers knitted animals to explain how to do the short rows I can follow until you turn your work but she then says to start the next row with a yarn over, this is the bit that I'm not understanding please can you help me. I'm a newbie to your channel and I am busy catching up with your older ones and loving them.
You will be so very happy when all the decorating is done and your home is back to normal. How lovely everything will look. Pete must love his home knitted socks. They look so cosy and warm. Take care Penelope. xx
Thanks, you're right it will be lovely. I can't wait to sort everything out. Take care. xx

How lovely, having your cat plonked on you whilst watching. You're right we have to expect hitches. Patience!!
Great about short rows am mostly been flat knitter so not much encountering short rows so is that wrap and turn ?so helpful thank you so much dear Pen
I'm the same Glenda, all fairly new to me too. So pleased it was helpful. Trust the process it does work! Yes, wrap and turn. xx

Hi Dianne, I was thinking someone might like a demo. I'll point out the good bit and the down bit!
Ooh thanks so much Penelope, that’s really kind of you. Stay warm, it’s cold & icy here in the North West of England. Dianne

Thank you so much Pennelope x
