- I saw the prototype but I wanted to get more infortmation about Sony's next generation Mini LED TV a technology I felt can save LED TVs after I saw it. Now luckily I got to ask Rob Brennan from Sony more questions about this technology. I also asked what Sony uniquely brings to the table from processing to exclusive settings & features not found anywhere else. Also why does Sony have higher input lag in game mode? Fantastic content! Thank you very much for this. If there is a chance, I'd love to know what the right mode for PC users for Sony TVs are, is it really Game or Graphics mode. Somehow I see Graphics is better on my X95K vs Game when it comes to sharpness and motion and blooming, but I may be imagining things. Maybe something has changed with the latest firmware updates when it comes to these modes?

Great stream KG. And the awesome Rob Brennan! Im a great fan of the Sony technology...I remember being sent to the Sony factory for a technology tour when I used to sell tvs. I was impressed back then and that was 30 odd years ago!!
I would like to ask Rob if there will ever be 55 inch high end models coming to the uk as we have a medium size front room and just wouldnt be able to go higher than 55 so the tv looks right in our room.
Thanks KG and Rob for the stream and its very interesting to me that Sony are looking to endorse mini led as I myself am a massive led fan and still feel there is massive potential there to benefit hdr material, especially full screen brightness scenes.

Realty Creation is why I bought a Sony TV. It has made my Nintendo Switch in docked mode usable for the past few years. I use it in game mode exclusively and don't notice input lag. I wish i could turn it up to 200% it's so good.

So by engaging black adjust, are we lowering the floor and reducing shadow details or raising the floor and bringing the picture out of black faster? Still confused.

@@TheAntifluencer I don't think oleds look as natural in terms of picture quality personally. Mini led catches my eye more. Especially when it comes to sports and gaming. I have so many issues with abl kicking in. It's not even worth it for me

Can Anyone can suggest best setting for sports on a Sony 95L. Just got mine last month.
I have some of my preferred settings for Sony OLEDs coming. For sports I like using custom as a starting point and bump adv contrast enhancer to medium with live color on low and make sure peak brightness is high.

Does Sony have a Z series flagship mini LED in store for later this year or next year? I will hold off on the XR90 until I know what their plan is for a Z series!!!
KG will we finally get 4 HDMI 2.1 ? I loved to see Sony step up in that area along with WIFI 6E
I doubt it. I saw the leaked video earlier in the week, and Sony won't be using a new processor. I believe they're using the processor in the A95L which supports 2x HDMI 2.1 ports. I'd love to be wrong though.
Sony doesn't make their own part when it comes to that issue so they are stuck waiting on a completely separate company to release a new one.
LG makes their own, hence 4 ports.
@@paulcox2447 MediaTek makes the SoC for Sony TVs and other TVs. Samsung and Sony makes their SoC in house so they have 4x HDMI 2.1 ports.
I'm surprised MediaTek prioritized Dolby Vision gaming with their Pentonic Chip instead of 4x HDMI 2.1 ports. I tried Dolby Vision gaming, and I wasn't impressed with it on my LG C1 so I disabled it. Sony consoles don't support Dolby Vision or Dolby Vision gaming so it Sony PS5 owners won't benefit from it at all.

Bravia 9 looks nice only one problem it ain’t 8k like what Samsung offers as there flagship it only issue no Dolby vision support.

what ticks me off most about mini led
while actually trying to buy one atm :
nowhere to be seen - 1.maximum brightness
2.dimming zone count
imagine my surprise when I found out the LG 55QNED816RE had 30.000 mini leds ? what the heck

Which TV would be better for watching F-1 racing, football and other sports (30 % time) and for streaming movies (50 % Time)? Sony A95L or Sony Mini LED 2024?
Mini led if it's a very bright room and dealing with say a bright window or many windows.
If it's a more normal room relatively light controlled, I'd do the OLED.
OLED is really hard to beat for movie watching in the evening/night time. Even during the day the extra contrast is sometimes preferable over full screen peak brightness of an LCD.
You can't go wrong with a95L.
Just go with a Mini LED. Sony won't release their 2024 TVs till June or July in the summer so go with 2023 Mini LED TVs instead.
My question is when is this lineup releasing?? and I hope it’s not the fall like last year and I. I’m hoping for April and May. And I’ll get it that would make last year’s models a short life cycle, but it is what it is.
I don't know the official release date but my guess is Late April early May we will start seeing TVs from Sony.

x95l was overhyped, i saw it, run of the mill image, oled still better, let's see if x95m can live up to the hype and match oled performance in a dark room.

TVs are so bright now, 3D should be an option
3D is very much alive just not in the TV space unfortunately I hope to see it return eventually
Don’t know why the manufacturers keep holding back on 3D. Whoever has the 3D feature would get more sales.
@@kev3226 passive Oled 3D is on another level, I was fortunate enough to have a 3D Oled back in 2015 and I’m telling you it was the most amazing cool thing. A lot of people never even got to experience the 3D Oled and instead the whiners who never even saw it were all like, I don’t want to wear the glasses, I’m like ok then don’t use the feature, but to take away features from customers is so unfair to those who have libraries of 3D it was ridiculous
I am just a little bit skeptical, when they brought back the back light master drive it was extremely over hype , we love to see if it could beat the breaks off Samsungs new 8k tv .

Why is it when ever we get an opportunity to talk to a representative of Sony products do you not mention or address some the flaws of their TV’s such as the Dolby vision issues with the A95L?
We have actually mentioned these things and it has been sent to the correct department of Sony. They are aware of these issues and they are actively working on them.This is not something I would waste Rob's time with in an interview.
I can probably afford the oled, if not ill settle for the x90l successor. So don’t drop the ball Sony
The same manufacturer that held on the OLED being superior is heavily boosting up mini LED after taking constant Ls in marketshare. Pretty funny to watch the back peddling. They are finally realizing their high pricing due to buying other people’s technology doesn’t work well for business.

With so many console games going back to 30FPS a miniled is not looking too bad right now. 30FPS is like a slideshow on OLED.
Sony, please fix your motion stuttering. You can do better. Or give option for soap opera effect. The only thing stopping me upgrading to your new TV is the poor motion.
Same. With an LCD I can handle just a little interpolation if it's good. For an OLED though, I need quite a bit before my eyes are happy with it. I'll take SOE over the blurry drunk look
I agree. Having returned the A95L, motion processing was not good. The A90J I have handles motion better!

No idea why everyone says Sony is the best.
I think all TV’s could do better with motion handling to reduce judder on screen panning shots .
Seems like all manufacture’s are focused on brightness right now .
I have a Sony a95L and it’s really good however the other day after watching a film and the end credits came on I couldn’t believe how jerky the rolling credits were and even the occasional animated movie too, yes motion settings can fix this but it tends to make a very unnatural image at times with odd motion.
alert Samsung put Sony tv tech where your screen is main speaker.
Gamers like me who play competitive fighting games need the lowest input lag possible, sadly Sony is not the best when it comes to Input Latency.
Owner of 65X95K , doesnt seem Sony took a good job with this set. In blooming department ,and blueish glow on bright objects. Selling it.

Most that think that just simply don't take the time to really understand all the incredibly advanced engineering that goes into the Sony TV designs. They are simply better TVs at every imaginable level. They just do TV better. And, the old saying really does turn out to be true, especially in the TV space: You get what you pay for!
I'm sure this TV will be awesome but it's going to be prohibitively expensive. I really don't want to buy a Chinese TV but Hisense and TCL will likely release something somewhat competitive for a fraction of the price.
Did you ever wonder WHY those Chinese made Hisense and TCL TVs were so much cheaper? (Hint: There's a REASON for that!) Lower prices come from sourcing LOWER QUALITY (and therefore less expensive) component parts...ones that DO NOT last as long. Sure, you might look at your Hisense or TCL and say "I don't see that big of a difference" but you also have to factor in your TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). That Hisense or TCL TV won't seem like such a "great deal" when it breaks down on you less than three years into owning it because a part failed. Now, Hisense and TCL are very good brands, make no mistake, but they are not even remotely in the same ballpark as Sony when it comes to craftsmanship, build quality and longevity. Again, the old saying really does turn out to be true: You get what you pay for!
Sony always prices their TVs high and therefore loses market share..including me. 5000 for a 77” A95L?? Crazy
This is all great, but sony tvs are out of touch when it comes to pricing. They literally make tvs for a 5% who can afford these prices.
No, not the case anymore. Have you been out TV shopping lately? Sonys are now VERY price competitive with all other brands (at roughly equivalent levels of performance) now today - because they know they have to be. Now, you compare a low-end LG to a FAR higher performing Sony model and of course the Sony is going to cost more...because you are literally GETTING so much more FROM the Sony!
@@michaelbeckerman7532 Yes I have been. Their qd-oled 55inch still costs over 2.500 euros, whereas a samsung qd oled s90c can be 1100, and their mini led 65 inch costs 2500, whereas a sami one can be 1600-1700.
I'm a big fan of Sony and hate Samsung, but Sony is gonna get hammered by the QD900 8k this year. Not taking advantage of the superior resolution with their processor advancements will be a big mistake...

For what content? Not trying to pick a fight with you but there is no 8k content. There won't be for some time...UA-cam demo videos maybe.
Why would you say that? 8K is effectively DOA at this point. No 8K content is being created anywhere, by anyone (short of a few UA-cam videos) 8K may not even survive in the marketplace. The few 8K TVs that are out there might even get dropped by those companies that make them. Why? Because they literally aren't selling - to anyone. Until we start to see affordable video wall solutions in the 12 to 24 ft. size available for people's homes there is essentially no reason at all to buy an 8K TV. Now, the day may come when 8K actually makes sense for the average consumer, but you could easily be look at another five to seven YEARS before that day actually arrives.

It's tricky to get the right level of stutter reduction without too much smoothing. Most people never figure this out on the newer sets. The way you do it is by setting motionflow to auto and turning cinemotion off. I've tried every combination and this is money. Virtually no stutter and virtually 0 SOE. It's literally the perfect motion smoothness. I can't live with stutter and I HATE SOE. It looks terrific on my Sony a90j, a80k, and my 85 X95K. Perfect for tv shows and movies. Perfect for built in apps and external devices.
reality creation makes the image look artificial, it adds a layer of sony detail and sharpness on top of the image. when you use reality creation, you are not viewing the director's intent of how the scene should look, you are viewing sony's intent of how the scene should look.
Not excited whatsoever! If it was micro led - yes, but mini led? - hell no!
I mean, how gullible do you think people are? Selling very old tech dressed up as new for a top dollar! Sticking to oleds for now!
Do you even know what micro-LED TVs sell for today? Try $45,000 to $150,000. Just because it's new/better doesn't mean that it is anywhere even NEAR affordable for the general consumer. It's looking more and more like TV manufacturers are likely going to just skip micro-LED technology altogether and move on to other new/advanced display tech that can be built and sold far more affordably. If you can't sell it affordably, then there is literally no point trying to build it or bring it to market.

Of course micro led is $150K, when they made only 5 of them with 120 inch size! Make it smaller and mass produce - price drops significantly! But nooo, they want to sell us the same old tech wrapped in shiny new clothes! - you have huge led lights shining from the back, it's impossible to filter the light properly and make it precise, No matter what fancy tech jargon they use - can't fool me!
