The Bean Chicago Finally Open | A walking Tour of Cloud Gate in Downtown Chicago 2024| Rainy Day

Beautiful day in the city of Chicago! This video was recorded on a Monday to show the Bean, people's interaction, and the city's beautiful architecture. The Bean, aka Cloud Gate, finally opened for the public after being closed and I wanted to go see it. If you decide to go see it, keep in mind the weekend will be packed.
It ended up raining and lightening. I found out that the Bean is made of stainless steel, standing near it during a lightning storm increases the risk of a lightning strike. So be safe out there!

About the Bean
Cloud Gate was created by British-Indian artist Anish Kapoor.
It is located in Millennium Park in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois.
It is made of 168 stainless steel plates welded together.
The exterior is highly polished to achieve its mirror-like surface.
Kapoor was inspired by liquid mercury and wanted to create something that would engage the city and reflect its skyline.
The Bean is one of Chicago's most popular tourist attractions and is a frequent site for photography.
The sculpture is cleaned twice a day to maintain its reflective surface.
