Hi Mr Ed. Your videos are amazing. They actually help me relax at night and aid in my insomnia. The removal/cleaning you show in your videos calms my anxiety. I suffer from OCD and Chronic anxiety disorder. Your videos help me so much in relaxing and thou it’s not because your videos are boring but sooo relaxing. I have even fallen asleep. Thank you and God Bless
I am so happy that my videos provide such help for you, and I have to tell you, you are not the first one to tell me they aid in relaxing and insomnia. It never ceases to amaze me the effects bees can have on people and the so many ways they benefit us. Your comment made my day, and I look forward to hearing from you again Jo. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I too suffer from anxiety and insomnia and I have also found the beekeeping videos to be extremely relaxing. It’s made me wonder if it would be as relaxing to be an actual beekeeper!
The best part of your videos is seeing you get the queen Jeff and knowing she is going to a better place. I always wondered who pays the expense of repairing the damage. Thanks good to know. Do you actually do a contract with the homeowner or is there just a gentlemen's handshake on it? Thank you for the video Jeff
I know that's not what you meant, but it sounded like eulogy when you said " she is going to a better place," I busted out laughing. As you well knowJP, I do not charge to remove bees. However, if my circumstances were different, I would have to charge as there are inherent costs with removals, and I like having a roof over my head when I sleep at night. I do not have a signed contract with the homeowners, but I would if I was being paid for it, that's being prudent. We are going to get together this year for sure. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed

M. Ed

And I admire you, Dirt Rooster and JP so much and have learned so much from y’all I also enjoy Yappys videos and Fredrick Dunn’s, ( I hope I spelled that correctly). I’ve joined the local bee Club and continue to enjoy and learn from a few local guys too. Maybe one day I’ll post my own bee 🐝 Keeping or swarm video. Thank you and God bless
If you keep watching all those guys, you are going to be leading your bee club very soon you will know so much. I learned to wrangle and keep bees from watching UA-cam and joining a bee club. I say you have all the pieces to the puzzle, and I wish you well in your endeavor. Thank you for your blessing and for watching Cliffton. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
I’ve learned more from you and 628 than I ever imagined. You both make it very interesting. Thanks for what you do. I love that I can recognize queen cells, and sometimes the queen.
You are a very good student. Now ,I was wondering, if you could teach the Rooster how to find the queen, he still can't do that. Thanks for watching. God's peace Judy. Mr. Ed
Wow! Nice hive! So awesome how they can build a barrier to protect their honey from foreign substances like the fiberglass. Really great video, nice work Mr. Ed!
Wow, that colony was a lot bigger than it looked from the first shots! And just imagine the energy the bees consumed to make that much propolis. This looks like one healthy and frugal strain of bees. Thanks for the video!
Another impressive element of this removal besides how the bee had propolized the insulation, was how large the comb was that I was pulling out of that tiny space. These are some great bees. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Evening delight here in Paris Mr. Ed. I was fascinated to see how the bees sealed off the insulating material. I didn't know what propolis was until I started watching you and Dirt Rooster. God bless.
This was the best example I have ever seen of how bees use propolis to seal their hive from the effects of fiberglass. You just never know what you will learn from watching a bee wrangling video. Have a great evening, God's peace. Mr. Ed
Thank you so much for your kind words Tina, they are very much appreciated. I'll keep on smiling and making videos as long as folks are willing to watch. God's peace. Mr. Ed
You are absolutely right about repairs. If you are not licensed to do repairs you will have a huge liability! Letting the homeowners know what needs to be done in order to remove the bees is sufficient IMO. Great coffee vid! Pass the honey, please.
I have never had a complaint about the arrangement of responsibilities after the removal, and I have done more than a hundred of them. Every homeowner felt like it was a win/win for them and the bees. Don't forget to check the level in your honey jar, it would bee a shame to run out on your second cup. God's peace Deema. Mr. Ed
That was a really cool thing to see. Normally the bees just chew the insulation, but because there was so much of it, they simply blocked it off with propolis. Bees are so amazing. God's peace Carole. Mr. Ed
That's amazing how the bees deal with man made stuff and just go right on doing what they're supposed to bee doing. Also amazing that anyone even thought YOU were going to get up on that roof. LOts of people are going to have a LARGE surprise when their evolutionary bubble gets popped. Thanks Buddy and GBWYou all the way and looking 4-ward to seeing Ralph!

I'm so happy you found my channel and are watching and commenting. How did the removal go on the house? Thanks for your blessing and for all the time you take to follow along. God's peace LD. Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff I'm so happy I found you also!! Can you believe the Orkin guy came out and sprayed the hive! Most of the bees died! He claims they were dying anyway... They took no footage of the crime.
To the bees, the fiberglass is just something in the way of comb expansion. They take the necessary steps to ensure the safe growth of the hive, so the fiberglass has no adverse effects on the comb, honey, or bees. It's amazing how the bees adapt to the environment they live in. Thanks for watching. God's peace Katie. Mr. Ed
If you’re gracious enough not to charge the homeowners, the last thing you should be doing is repairing the damages. Even if you did charge for the bee removal that doesn’t entail you fixing the property. God Bless and stay safe
You understand my perspective exactly. Thank you for your blessing and for taking the time to watch. I'm looking forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace. Mr. Ed
It's oddly satisfying how the bees make it so the fiberglass doesn't interfere with the hive. I'd say that was a very tight space as well. Nice job catching the queen.
That was the coolest part about this removal, finding the propolized fiberglass. OK, the queen catch was pretty cool as well. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I have very unique circumstances, and the bees and the homeowners are the lucky recipients of those circumstances. Plus, I love doing it. God's peace Gail. Mr. Ed
I have met several people who might take advantage of a situation such as a bee infestation, swarming, etc. You my friend, are not one of those people. I have a dear friend who lives just west of town who had to call out the pest squad to remove a swarm in the soffit of their new home. Three hours and $3,500 later, the problem was solved. Most probably have little idea of how expensive it is to have that type of job performed. Again I’ll expose you for what you really are. You’re not doing this for a few hundred bucks worth of bees-you are an ambassador of good will and God’s love. It’s a ministry, and it probably reaches far more people than most missionaries or televangelists ever would. Your following is phenomenal, and while you’re as much an expert on bees as probably anybody, people have a large variety of bee “experts” to choose from. Your infectious smile and ever positive presentation sets you apart from the herd, and it’s nothing short of compelling. God has you right where you’re suppose to be, and it shows!-and I suspect you’re touching more lives than you’ll ever realize. Lead on! PS: Thank you for the birthday greeting. My daughter was delighted, but not as much as I was. Mark

Just curious... what do you tell your clients in cases like this to bee proof? I've always had issues with soffits that die into roof lines and bees, wasps, rats, etc getting in. The two surfaces expand/contract at different rates and with house settling you always end up with an area that is vulnerable. Not really knowing what I am doing, I've always made a custom built wedge to fit in that space (90 degrees to soffit with a rip cut at an angle the same as the roof). I wonder what the "right" way to do this is.
There is no doubt about it, that particular spot on the roof line is VERY susceptible to points of entry of insects and mammals, especially due to the effects of continues water contact and the ensuing rot that occurs. It is very often the exact spot that bees will find to make their initial intrusion into the dormer itself or the soffit. Because I am not a real carpenter, I do not have a good answer for you. However, your wedge idea, and using treated material, is a good one. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. did I see a queen cell right around 13:16 time stamp.. ok sorry I count 3 in the review. I wonder how long those girls wear in there and how may and swarmed out. or just new queens.
They were queen cups, but there was nothing in them. I'm like you, I am always examining the comb to see if there are cells on it to figure the story of the hive. Good detective work. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
the bee's are willing to live in a fixer upper. In Thomas Seeley's book honeybee democracy he tested several things to see if they would move in and fix it up . He drilled holes all over the swarm box , filled them with wet sawdust ect. As long as they were the right size and had the right size opening the Bee's moved in an fixed the problems.
It is amazing the different places I have removed bees, and you are correct when you state, " As long as they were the right size and had the right size opening the Bee's moved in an fixed the problems." They are amazing creatures that take advantage of the situations and places they choose to make a home in. After all the bees are vacuumed and the comb is reattached to frames and dropped into a bee box, the queen is reunited with her bees and comb to start the hive in a new location. Because the queen is the only bee in the hive that lays eggs, her role is very important. No eggs, no new bees. No new bees, the colony dies. Of course the bees can produce a new queen should something happen to the old one, but only if there are eggs young enough in the comb for them to do that. Also, there is a 40 day delay from when a queen is made to when she starts laying, and this delay can be critical in the survivability of the hive. By capturing the old queen it insures no break in the continuation of egg laying, as well as lessens the stress the bees have incurred doing the removal. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Wonderful video Mr. Ed! Thank you for sharing it. How old do you think that comb was that it has had time to harden and dry out? I was guessing a year - am I close? And the Queen capture was fabulous to see, thank you!! Job very well done.
That hive moved in sometime in the early spring, March or April, so I was told. Often, after comb has been used to store honey or brood, it gets very ridged even though it has not turned dark. By this time next year, this comb would have been a darker brown. It was a really cool queen capture, and I did get a bit excited when I saw her even though the flashlight was between my teeth. Glad you like the video, thanks so much for watching. Until next Friday, God's peace Julie. Mr. Ed
You almost needed some specialty tools for that. I've got all the custom built gadgets for working tight spots if you run into this again. I'd hate for you to take a chance on getting stuck in someones attic.

I have a question, I’ve read if you catch a swarm in your bee yard you need to relocate that swarm so it won’t go back to where you caught it, you ever have that experience? Love your videos by the way!
You never have to worry about a swarm of bees returning to where they came from once they have decided to move into a new location. If you catch a swarm in your own yard, it will not go back to the original hive. Some of the old field bees may, but not the entire swarm. Glad you like the videos thanks, and thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I agree that it's not your obligation to repair what you've got to cut out, because it would be more hazardous for them to remove the bees themselves, pay for the expenses on the tools (or bug killed) and more often than not it's because there's a hole, or any entryway in the building giving the hive an easy in/out The other half of the job is them getting it repaired so it's not likely to happen again Either way, another video to watch is good enough for me
In all the removals I have done over the years, there has not been one homeowner who is unhappy with this arrangement. In my opinion, it's a win/win/ win for the homeowners, me, and the bees. Thanks for watching. God's peace Kyle. Mr. Ed
So glad you enjoy the videos Tim, and if you are ever in the New Orleans area, look me up and I'll bring you wrangling with me. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
I have not been stung through them yet, and I've been wearing them for more than a year now. They are lined which gives protection, yet they retain the sensitivity I want when wrangling. I got them from WalMart in the paint department, but HomeDepot and Lowe's sell them as well.....about 5 bucks. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Essential oil extract flavor used for scent or aroma therapy - seriously. It smells good, so you feel good. Bees just happen to love it. It comes from a plant called lemon grass and thus the name of this flavor of scent oil. The list of different ones is almost endless.
I do not blame him either, it is VERY messy, I was just poking fun at him. He was standing right behind me when I said that. Thanks for watching. God's peace Josh. Mr. Ed
That's the most awkward spot I've seen yet. Speaking of old videos , how did that custom heavy coffin of a beehive you made perform? I haven't seen an update that I can recall. That was so fascinating to me.
It was a very tight spot, and yet I was still able to remove some very large pieces of comb. The TBH is doing great, I opened it 2 weeks ago and the bees are covering about 6 of the frames. I will do an update on it come spring time, stay tuned. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I've watched most of Mr. Ed's videos, and here are my thoughts... She COULD...and sometimes he does because he can't see her. But by catching her he can use her as bait to attract the remaining bees. It's a bigger deal with his outdoor captures. Plus, the queen is essential for a healthy hive, so this allows him to protect her in transport.
Mark gave a VERY good reply, and it's all true. The only thing he forgot to mention, by capturing the queen separately, it adds great drama to my videos. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
You need a muffler or sound suppresser on your vacuum. If it's that loud to us in a video, it has to be damaging your hearing to be in a confined space with it.

Jeff Horchoff I'm with you on how important bees are - I have two hives in my side yard, and the bees come in by the dozens to where I'm growing a bunch of baby trees in tubestock. I guess the water tastes better out of the potting mix around the sproutling trees than it does from other sources. I can sit and watch them for hours, they are quite unbothered by me being right next to them there - they won't let me sit that close to their hives, but they're not territorial about their water supply. I'm glad you're looking after your hearing. I used to tell my Dad when we were working together that when he turns 100 I want him to be able to hear his great-grandchildren sing him happy birthday, but he never paid me much mind.
Way to go for you, great to learn you keep bees also. As I have worked around heavy machinery all my life, I learned early about ear protection. I've never regretted the precaution I've always followed. Looking forward to hearing from you again on more of my bee wrangling adventures. God's peace Teal. Mr. Ed
Jeff Horchoff well, at the moment I only have two hives, and I'm feeding them - it's been a pretty dry year. But the baby trees they drink water from are selected to provide bee forage as well as cattle forage, so in a few years when those are planted and growing and flowering I hope to be able to pasture more bees and more cattle on my land.
I love how excited Mr.Ed gets whenever he finds a queen, it seems like the whole process really is rewarding when you catch the queen too.
I do tend to get a bit excited when I locate the queen, it's just so cool! Thanks for watching. God's peace.

Mr. Ed
What have I become all I watch anymore while I'm relaxing in the morning is Ant colonies, Spider facts, and now these Bee keeping videos. It's just bugging me guys, okay..
I'm delighted to hear that you find the world of insects intriguing, especially bees... I'm the same way. I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new bee video every Friday morning. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

I have a fobia from bees and wasps because I was stung twice when young, but I gotta say watching you working with ease and a huge smile makes them less scary. You are doing great work relocating them rather than exterminate, they are very valuable insects not only to us.
Thanks so much for your kind words and support of my efforts to rescue bees. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come.
Easy for you to say.

I’m just giving you a hard time. I’m going to start Bee Keeping soon. And I admire you, Dirt Rooster and JP so much and have learned so much from y’all I also enjoy Yappys videos and Fredrick Dunn’s, ( I hope I spelled that correctly).

Mr Ed , I never get tired watching your videos, another great one ! Thanks again!
So happy to hear you are enjoying them Joe, thank you. and thanks for watching. Till the next one, God's peace.

Wow! Nice hive! So awesome how they can build a barrier to protect their honey from foreign substances like the fiberglass. Really great video, nice work Mr. Ed!
I have seen bees propolize glass before, but not to the extent that this one was, it was a very cool sight. God's peace Mike.
Mr. Ed

Glad you liked the video, and thank you for your support of my actions.
Mr. Ed
Wow. It's amazing to me how clever bees are. What they did to neutralize that fiberglass insulation is amazing! Thanks for sharing.

@@JeffHorchoff I'm so happy I found you also!! Can you believe the Orkin guy came out and sprayed the hive! Most of the bees died! He claims they were dying anyway... They took no footage of the crime.
I am not surprised. They don't call them exterminators for no reason. May they RIP. God's peace LD.
Mr. Ed
Question ... When they all up in the fiber glass... Are they ok and what about the honey and such...

Mr. Ed
I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. did I see a queen cell right around 13:16 time stamp.. ok sorry I count 3 in the review. I wonder how long those girls wear in there and how may and swarmed out. or just new queens.
They were queen cups, but there was nothing in them. I'm like you, I am always examining the comb to see if there are cells on it to figure the story of the hive. Good detective work. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
3:51 ok, that statement was creeeeepy. lol 😊
It may have been creepy, but I bet you saw the picture I was painting. Thanks for watching. God's peace Jett.
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff absolutely. It painted a vivid picture. Hahaha!
the bee's are willing to live in a fixer upper.
Mr. Ed
Btw what do you do with the queen bees when you catch them?
I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. hey Jeff let the homeowner know they're only going to have more problems with branches touching the roof squirrels will make tons of access points! Great video as always I hope you'll be making more see you next time 😃

Thanks for your reply Mr. Ed!
@@trebor042 You'r welcome, God's peace.
Mr. Ed
I agree that it's not your obligation to repair what you've got to cut out, because it would be more hazardous for them to remove the bees themselves, pay for the expenses on the tools (or bug killed) and more often than not it's because there's a hole, or any entryway in the building giving the hive an easy in/out
The other half of the job is them getting it repaired so it's not likely to happen again
Either way, another video to watch is good enough for me
In all the removals I have done over the years, there has not been one homeowner who is unhappy with this arrangement. In my opinion, it's a win/win/ win for the homeowners, me, and the bees. Thanks for watching. God's peace Kyle.
Mr. Ed
I really enjoy your videos.
I know honey bees are disappearing . Hope to see a hive removal someday. Its interesting.
So glad you enjoy the videos Tim, and if you are ever in the New Orleans area, look me up and I'll bring you wrangling with me. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother.

The penny just dropped on why you're called Mr. ED!! LOL
Why
can bees sting thru those blue gloves Jeff ?
I have not been stung through them yet, and I've been wearing them for more than a year now. They are lined which gives protection, yet they retain the sensitivity I want when wrangling. I got them from WalMart in the paint department, but HomeDepot and Lowe's sell them as well.....about 5 bucks. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Jeff u must have some set of mince pies to spot them Queens .should be sponsored by specsavers! !!lol.👍 😆
I attribute it all to grace Owen. After all, ones vision is clear when God is near. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
Another good Friday video
I'm happy to bee a part of your Friday routine James. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Great job!!👍🏻
Thank you Linda, wrangling's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it......I'm just happy it's me. god's peace.
Mr. Ed
Watermelon hands! I love it.
Seriously, have you seen the size of hands on the Rooster? Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Another awesome video!
I love hearing happy viewers, thanks so much Sarah. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Nice one. Thank you.
Glad you liked the video, and for letting me know. Until the next one, God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Did you taste each honey from each hive ?
Yes I do. Every time I do a removal, I eat some of the honey comb, you can't beat fresh honey comb. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
you make it look like fun. God bless
Thank you for your blessing Peter, and it is FUN! God's peace.
Mr. Ed
What is lemon grass
Essential oil extract flavor used for scent or aroma therapy - seriously. It smells good, so you feel good. Bees just happen to love it. It comes from a plant called lemon grass and thus the name of this flavor of scent oil. The list of different ones is almost endless.
Lee gave a better description that I could have. Thanks for watching. God's peace Joe.
Mr. Ed
Good job Lee, thank you for handling it for me! God's peace.
Mr. Ed
12:22 reminds me of grandpa's kitchen
That was a good shot of bees on the comb, and it was the section that did have the queen on it. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I don't blame Bubba for wanting to keep it clean... clearing out a hive is a bit messy at times.
Mr. Ed
it's kinda odd that you look younger with beard mr. ed
keep up with the good work
I have a very good makeup artist working very hard every time I shoot a video, a real miracle worker. Thanks for watching. God's peace Gabriel.
Mr. Ed
Why cant the queen go with the normal workers in the bee vacuum? ^^
Mr. Ed
GREAT reply, thank for doing that Mark. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff @Mark Reviews thank you two :D
You need a muffler or sound suppresser on your vacuum. If it's that loud to us in a video, it has to be damaging your hearing to be in a confined space with it.
I wear ear plugs when I vacuum, it's even worse when I do the removal inside a home. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
So, that’s a wrap?
So to speak. Thanks for watching. God's peace Barbara.
Mr. Ed
Awesome as always......It's Friday 😊
Thanks brother, have a great week end Mick! God's peace.
