- We remember Maisha, the matriarch of Virunga's family of orphan gorillas. Though Maisha had a hard start in life, when she was taken from her family by poachers at just three years old, she found a secure and peaceful home at Virunga National Park's Senkwekwe Center.
The Senkwekwe Center remains the only facility in the world that cares for orphaned mountain gorillas. Despite the challenges in caring for the species in captivity, the Center collaborates with key veterinary organisations from around the world to ensure the highest standards of care for the gorillas. Im so sorry for your lose Andre. She was like a child to you and you gave her a wonderful life full of love above all else. All the videos of you holding her, feeding her a bottle or just caressing her when she felt insecure are precious moments we will have forever. God bless you my freind and the work you do.💖

Please tell us what kind of sickness she had that took her life. Was it like a sickness that a human gets that's terminal? Or did she eat something or contract some infection from something? We really would like more information. And I'm new to this site and now have questions that others probably already have answers to.
As long as you don't start with the whole "humans should not hold animals captive" bullshit, especially when these guys were taking care of these poor things. I have had about enough of these fucking primate know it alls on UA-cam.
