@@stanwilliams7790 Not being funny sir but I don’t understand exactly what you’re saying. Like are u naming a specific song she should hear next?? Or what?
Cameo is a great R&B/Funk group! My favorite slow jams by them are "Feel Me", "Sparkle", "Why Have I lost You", "Hanging Downtown"! Great great group!!
beautiful reaction, gorgeous lady....no lie, "Sparkle" is not just my favorite Cameo song, it is my all-time favorite song of all time....listened to it as a kid when my mom and dad played it, and have loved it every since....
R.I.P to my Aunt Donna. She brought the joy in music into our home after she came to live with us after my grandmother died. From Cameo to Gladys Knight, she is the reason I love know what good music is!
This here number is what you might call "no territories unexplored, aka no stones unturned, low down freaky, grown folk, turn out the light and light that candle" kinda music of that era. My pops won't tell me exactly which one, other than it was one of these slow jams that I was conceived under. ... now me and my wife are hoping the same thing for our first one. and so I am thinking "Sweet Sticky Thang" by the Ohio Players, but my wife is talking more like "You Sure Love to Ball" by Marvin ... maybe play both, haha!
I can really really appreciate noticing your your reaction to tunes that set the mood for us back in the day- upon listening to the tune one remembers when and where and even what the weather was like at the time
For me this song takes me back to 1980 I was in 7th grade @Twin City roller rink in Elizabeth NJ on a Friday. I slow skated with a little Ebony cutie named Toya. Shout out to you baby wherever you may be these days 😘
1979. I was in 7th grade and had the biggest crush on this girl name Florence. This was our song. Love your reactions to what music should sound like. You have an old school. Keep it up!
Love your reactions. If you ever decide to get into some Barry White, some suggestions are "I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby", "Never Never Gonna Give You Up", "Playing Your Game Baby", and "Staying Power". His catalog is so deep it's ridiculous. Take care.
You surely were wonderfully expressive throughout this reaction. Great to watch. It was fun waiting for your reaction to build when good got better and better became best.
Wow! I haven't heard "Sparkle" by Cameo for too many years. I really appreciate you posting this video, Ashley. It makes me happy to have subscribed to your channel.
I’ve heard you say you should have been brought up in the 70s and 80s for the music. I’m thankful I was blessed to have been raised during that time ! Not only was it the best era for R&B, and FUNK, but for rock too ! I’m also very VERY thankful to have an interest in multiple formats of music 😊 I may have some serious suggestions for you to check out.l how do I make that happen ?
YES, great reaction Cameo is a beast in the late 70's mid 80's. But if you have some time can you react to Cameo (LP Version) "Why Have I Lost You" my older sister love this song us to played this all the time until the 8 track broke.
Cameo are soooo good!✨ Funk and r&b. Long time so their sound changed alot! Leader Larry Blackmon also had the funky groups/bands L.A. Connection and Mantra. Others?
That's what I'm talking about! Slow jam at its best! May i suggest you to try Ohio Players - Heaven Must Be Like This, the full lenght version, you won't be disappointed. Cheers from Brazil!!
My all time fav slow jam, slightly Suavecito by Malo. This song was so unique coz Cameo was an up tempo band. My 3 surprises was this tune, Bar-Kays running in and out of my life and GAP band yearning for you love. All bands threw down slow jams while being known for up tempo music
The sad part about cameo is I don't think they're in the rock & roll hall of fame, which is a Travsty if they're not probably a top 10 r & b group of all time
It's not rock. The background of hall of fame should be googled. Racism was factor. Also many rock stars don't care for honor because it's not about talent but the money from tables bought for ceremony. Motown hall of fame would be Cameo.
@lizbrown6943 Of course, it's not rock. That's just the name they picked. It's for all types of music Supposed to be the best in their era. A tribe called Quest , Al green just got in.PS. Little richard and Chuck Berry are like the founders of what was called rock n roll
The lead singer of this song, Anthony Lockett is not pictured on this album cover. He was the lead guitarist in the original 11 piece band. Songwriter and phenomenal singer as you can hear. Look him up! Everybody think that is Larry but that's not him
I would like to recommend that you checkout Soulful artist Jeffrey Osborne. He has so many beautiful songs in his catalogue of music. He sang in the group LTD and sang the song "Love Ballad" he also did a song with LTD titled "Back in love again" Then as a solo artist he has a beautiful ballad called "Baby and another I'm only Human" He is truly a very talented singer
They had such a impression on our life's that my first cousin named her first child Sparkle.( My first cousin who I told not to hook up with my ex's brother!!!! We all have love ❤.
SIDE NOTE: The main singer here (#LarryBlackmon) is actually who & where the “box” hairstyle comes from. He was the FIRST one to do it/started it, then Big Daddy Kane eventually started doing it because it was something different & nobody else was doing it. But HE (#BigDaddyKane) is where/who everybody else that followed got it from. Later, after that started getting popular, #BobbyBrown eventually went solo from #NewEdition & then he decided to do something different than what everybody else was doing, so he then created the #Gumby haircut that he used to wear at the beginning of his solo career, with songs #EveryLittleStep/#EveryLittleStepITake & #MyPrerogative. Ciao ✌🏾😁
Love when young people discover great music of years ago.
Hope stays alive
This heard why have i lost u? She will lose her lockz

Best funk/ballad band in ever! Try "I never knew I loved you".
For me this song takes me back to 1980 I was in 7th grade @Twin City roller rink in Elizabeth NJ on a Friday. I slow skated with a little Ebony cutie named Toya. Shout out to you baby wherever you may be these days 😘
Your going to fall in love with this song

This is real music we grew up on. Today's R&B can't compete. It's a reason some songs can't be remade.
Since you loved this one, you have to listen to "We're Going Out Tonight" off the Cameosis album. That is straight fire too!
yes,!! one of my favorites
@@donnagillespie4852 Mine too!
One of my favorite bands.
Cameo why have I lost you man’s voice went so high on that song it’s crazy my pops favorite group back in da g

omg! Anthony Lockett tore the vocals up on this song! I love this song!!
I agree with you Ashley it is a sexy song. That is why this one of my favorite Cameo songs.
Old School music will always be the best
Baby making music 🎶 some of y'all was conceived to this stuff. 🎉
💯💯💯
It would be fire if some of these groups would react to people reacting to their songs. Especially yours🤭
That was real music!!!
If you haven't already, you must listen to Candy by Cameo. You will love it!
Thank you ❤.
This R&B never gets old especially when this newer music sounds like it does
This is my jam. I serenaded my girlfriend singing this song.🎵 ✌🏼
That's from back in day of basement parties with the red light with the hanging down off/on chain 💯
Legendary group

Now you check out Why have I lost you. It was made before the group dropped down to just three members it used to be 11 members in the whole band

CAMEOSIS!!💥👏🏾
This song and Gap bands no hiding place are seriously underrated
Cameo are soooo good!✨ Funk and r&b. Long time so their sound changed alot!

They don’t need the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to confirm their greatness!
You are to listen to The dramatics door to your heart
Love that song👏🏽
Yup, this track was/is a WHOLE mood. Your reaction mirrors how I felt when I first heard this song back in 1979. #respect
The lead singer on this track was in a different Cameo lineup from the one in your pic.
Very true, Anthony Lockett the lead vocalist was part of the original Cameo lineup🎼
@@CCTH2221-lp2zjMan you don't know how frustrating it is and be trying to tell people that that's Anthony and not Larry
Wayne Cooper, background vocals!@@RTDavis0503
couples only , at the skating rink when i would go!!!! Around 1988 for me !!!!!!
Fantastic choice , please please checkout Sylvester “ here is my love “ it’s like a musical massage
Sunday night at the skating rink couples only.
I think you mean "saxynest"! lol. The horns make this song-along with the other great
background music. Vocals are a close second!
Your husband is a very blessed brother, and out of respect, that's all I will say about that!!!
Another one of their songs from the B side, Don’t be Lonely!
Try LTD next Love Ballad
Every high-school and college band is killing Talking out the side of your neck.
That's right don't forget "why have I lost you " when they had about 25 members 😅 late 70's
Need to listen to a group called Confunksun, Straight from the heart and let me put love on your mind.
Yes those are great love songs !!!

Larry Blackmon didn't sing lead on the song. The lead singer with Anthony Lockett, the lead guitarist from the original 11 piece band
There's a live video of cameo performing with him. Anthony still sounds the same
Try major Harris

I remembered this one. Check out "Pretty Brown Eyes" by Mint Condition
Ashley Reacts ,If you like that song, you MUST hear, ( FEEL ME ), by Cameo.
